12/24 Written Update - June 1st, 2010
12/24 Karol Bagh
The episode begins with Simi questioning Abhi that it seems he is hiding something. She also expresses her concern about him. Abhi gets very irritated. He tells her not to worry about him and goes to bed.
Mili is feeling very uneasy, recollecting the horrific assault by Nakul. She feels scared and gets hysterical.
Daggar Residence
Neetu is wondering what to wear at Mili's roka (pre-wedding ritual) and asks Omi to suggest. Omi romantically tells her that she looks like a beautiful princess in anything she wears. Neetu is filled with affection. Omi is rummaging through dresses, trying to choose one for Neetu when she suddenly shows up in a bridal-like wear. Omi seems stunned by her beauty. He looks at her affectionately. (Dil Kyun Yeh Mera song from Kites plays in the background) They both hug each other.

In the morning, everyone is in the living room. Mili sits next to her father, RS, and rests her head in his lap. RS wonders that this isn't Mili's usual behavior. Anuj comments that she must be trying to get serious due to her pre-wedding ritual. RS denies saying, "Mili brings the excitement in this house." Manju ji comments, "After the roka, Mili will be the excitement in Mathur's residence." RS adds, "But she will always remain our daughter." Everyone smile. Anuj jokes that they should send her "Scootie" with her in dowry. Abhi is nervous at the thought of Mili's scooter. RS questions about it and then tells Anuj to pick it up from the garage tomorrow. Abhi retorts that since he knows where it is, he will fetch it. Simi seems suspicious. RS agrees but questions him about work today. Abhi replies that he isn't going since it is Mili's roka today.
Abhi and Anuj leave to get the order of sweets. Manju suggests Simi to help Mili with her outfit.
Simi is in Mili's room with her, offering her several suggestions of accessories with her outfit. Simi notices that Mili seems lost and is very quiet. Simi questions. Mili thinks to herself that she will not be able to share her suffering with Simi today. Mili tries to hide and goes to shower. Simi worries.
Manju ji is buying lots of vegetables from a street vendor when her neighbors notice and question her. Manju ji shares with them that it is Mili's roka today. Kalavati Bhalla drops in and begins her usual taunts. She tells the neighbors, "Question her about what's new with her to-be son in law. One is younger than his wife. Other is too young in the brain. I wonder how the 3rd one is going to be like." Neighbors begin to giggle at the taunts. Manju ji walks away upset.
In the evening, 12/24 is getting ready for the roka. The house is well-decorated. Manju ji questions RS whether he invited Nakul or not. RS says that he tried to call but Nakul wasn't home. He adds that he did remind Neetu to make sure and bring her brother in law. RS questions about Anita but Anuj reluctantly replies, "She will not come." RS decides to call her but Anuj denies saying, "She isn't feeling well so she won't be able to come." The guests begin to arrive.
Daggar Residence
Neetu is worrying that she is running late. She is helping Omi get ready. She wonders where Nakul is as he is the elder of the house and should go with them. Omi agrees, saying he tried to contact him but he did not answer. Neetu decides that they should just leave with a gift from Nakul to Mili but they will continue trying to contact him on their way. Omi lovingly comments that Neetu is looking very beautiful. Neetu shyly smiles.

Manju ji is taking "aarti" of Vishal at the door. Everyone seems happy and step into the house. Vishal is stunned when he notices Mili. She looks very beautiful. (Indeed! Finally we see her dressed up 😳). Mili is missing a smile. Abhi looks at her and gestures to continue. Mili agrees. They all sit in the living room and Manju ji goes into the kitchen with Neetu to get the drinks. She questions Neetu about Nakul. Neetu tells her that she was unable to reach him. Manju ji unhappily replies, "It is not nice that the one who is responsible for our happiness doesn't join us today." Neetu agrees and decides to call him again.
Abhi tells Mili to smile. Mili is upset and asks for Abhi's permission to tell Vishal everything that she suffered. Abhi tells her, "Do tell him but wait for the right time. I'm sure that he will support you." It's better to think about everyone's happiness right now. Vishal joins in. Abhi suggests that he shouldn't be a spoilsport between Vishal and Mili and allows them to talk alone. Vishal is concerned about Mili and asks her if all is well. Mili agrees unwillingly after Abhi gestures her not to share anything right now. Manju ji is still waiting for Nakul to arrive. Neetu can't get a hold of Nakul. Mrs. Mathur asks again whether they should now start the ceremony. Manju ji unwillingly agrees. The ceremony begins. Everyone is happy. All of a sudden, Nakul arrives. Mili is shocked to notice him.
