I haven't heard Vasundhara lately, and if this is one of her best hit songs, I could see why 😆

First of all, awful song! Now coming to Vasundhara's singing, she did okay I guess. It wasn't really impressive I think. Mostly average singing throughout the song. Her range is limited compared to others, that's why she just couldn't do as well in the high-pitches. I think her voice quality has fallen just slightly from like 5 years back. But that's not the big issue here.  Also, the part where she had to sing quickly, that just was not smooth.

Quick note, her voice really used to suit Preity Zinta well. And it feels as when Preity Zinta fell, so did Vasundhara lol.

Overall, I would just say average. Which isn't bad, it's Bollywood average.

Horrible song! Way too loud and cacophonous! Anu Malik - why?! 😡

Anyway, Ugy and Pagli was a low budget film, so it had the low budget hottie Mallika Sherawat and low budget comedian hero Ranvir Shorey.

Similarly, Anu doesn't seem to have been given much of a budget for the music either. Which is why he couldn't afford a real male playback singer (so we have Anu doing the honours himself) and neither could he afford Sunidhi Chauhan, who specialises in high energy, full throttle songs such as this. Thus Vasundhara gets this unenviable addition to her kitty...

She does a great job singing this. Again, it's a 6.5 from me (the same as Sunidhi for Marjaani) but I won't be rounding this up, because I feel her voice is too soft in the low notes. I can't actually hear the lyrics when she goes low. So it's a 6 from.

For all those who came to this thread hoping to hear a nice song, I'm posting a better song from the same movie.

'Yaad Teri Aaye'
(Music by Anu Malik, Lyrics by Amitabh Verma, Sung by Mohit Chauhan)

I'm quite disappointed in the song selection actually. I know it was her recent one, so it had to be used. But I felt its quite unfair to Vasundara ji to get a low score because of that. Oh well. I have to be frank out honest with my voting.

Nothing at all impressed me with the singing. First off, she had a very small role in the song. I just can't rate high for someone who had a minimal role in the song. That's just me. I think its unfair for the singer, but that's how I rate. I really do apologize if anyone finds this unjust or unfair. But there are many reasons for my low rating. Vasundra ji didn't do much in the song to impress me. I found very little variation in the song. The lines were rather repetitive. Although there was feel to the song, the connectivity was lacking. All in all I don't even think this was an average performance by Vasundara ji. Because she has higher potential and because she has sung so many better songs, this one just didn't live up to the mark. She fell significantly with this song. Therefore my rating for her just can't be high at all and neither do I think it was average singing knowing that she can and has done a much better job with other songs of hers.

Final rating(sorry): 4 my lowest yet.

being liberal, she gets a 6.
A completely forgettable song and forgettable singing, only further tarnished by Anu Malik's voice. Vasundhara Das has a very unique western-inspired voice which is her biggest USP and differentiators. But this song has just another "mundane singing" by her, in fact there is no uniqueness in that voice, just flat singing with no scope for change in rhythm.
Overall Dissappointed. She deserves much better song selections.

Hhhmmmm..a new song for me..let's see..

Starting is very 'be-sura' as well as the male singing and repels me instantly! Anyways, moving to the female singing, at least she is in some rhythm! However, there is nothing notable here in the singing. It can be easily sung by anyone. The expressions are reasonably good though.

However, I felt that most of the time Vasundhara was just shouting or going too loud with her singing. Overall, the singing is merely noise! Apologies to the fans. Very poor pronunciation, nothing is clearly said except the title name. Nothing profound, and no beauty is there. This song does not tell us show any versatility of the female singer.

To conclude my evaluation, I would like to give this song an average score of 5. I would have gone for lesser marks, but that seemed too harsh. So, I will remain contented with 5 out of 10 for this performance.
