Gautham Vasudev Menon's Silambarasan-Trisha love story Vinnaithandi Varuvaaya has taken a bumper opening, collecting Rs 67 lakhs or 95 per cent from a dozen screens in Chennai city. The film has opened at the number one position and is being appreciated by the director's core elite audiences, though some do not like its pace and climax.
At number two position is Tamil Padam, a runaway super hit. In third position is Theeratha Vilayattu Pillai, which is holding on in Chennai city.
At number four is Aasal, clearly struggling to keep itself afloat, and in fifth position is My Name Is Khan, which seems to be tapering off. |
