Darna Mana Hai -- hardly horrifying! | |||
Well, this is one horror show that is not going to send a chill down your spine! Darna Mana Hai promised a lot more than what it actually delivered. It's brilliantly shot promos were more scary than the first four episodes put together. Probably the most trying aspect of the show was that the first story tried to do nothing different. A horror show needs to keep the audiences guessing about the next turn of events -- this can be either done by a haunting background score or a very strong storyline. Darna Mana Hai failed in both aspects. The kid who played Raghu put together a great act, but to any follower of the horror genre, it was evident from the first few shots that the guy was not real!
The background score that's so important to a horror show, was a letdown, the anticipation and curiosity that needs to be aroused, specially in this genre was a damp squib. Rajeshwari Sachdev was as usual brilliant, but there was nothing in the story to support her! Rajesh Tandon had nothing much to do and his moment in the show came when he killed his wife in the final moments of the first week! Intrestingly, Star One is not the only channel that's aiming to tap thriller lovers at the 10:30 pm slot. Sony has CID Special Bureau slotted from Monday to Thursday in direct competition to the newcomer! |
