Mumbai: This victory chant has no end in sight. AR Rahman has done it again for India as his illustrious song Jai Ho has bagged another international acclaim in a nomination for the highest musical honour in world- the Grammy award. The multi-talented composer has bagged two Grammy nominations for the Oscar winning 'Slumdog Millionaire'. The versatile composer has been nominated in the category of 'Best Song Written For Motion Picture' along with Gulzar and Tanvi Shah.

He has got nomination along with the legendary Bruce Springsteen for his number 'The Wrestler' for the same movie, a song from 'Hannah Montana: The Movie' called 'The Climb' and a number from the hit vampire flick 'Twilight.'

He also won a nod for 'Best Compilation Soundtrack' for Danny Boyle's 'Slumdog Millionaire'. The composer's 'Jai Ho' anthem was the flavour of the year 2009. In this list, he shares space with Quentin Tarantino's 'Inglourious Basterds.'

Rahman has already bagged two Oscars for 'Best Song' and 'Best Original Score' as well as 'Best Music Director' award at the prestigious BAFTA.

Incidentally, AR Rahman is currently in Los Angeles where the prodigiously talented composer is working on his latest cross-cultural movie 'Street Dancing' along with the Golden Globe winner musician David A Stewart.

In terms of the number of nominations, pop sensation Beyonc leads with 10 nominations, followed by Taylor Swift and Black Eyed Peas. The Grammy Awards will be held on January 31 at the Staples Center in Los Angeles.

I agree and the hardships rahman sir went through to achieve this is really something one can't even imagine !
losing ur father at a young age n having to leave ur studies to support ur mother n sisters any other person would've succumbed to d situation n gone into a wrong way but rahman sir is such a nice pure soul so god was with him always as he also worked hard he would attend school then go to raja sir's studio to play piano ,there were some days he wouldn't know if he had eaten or not (i cried reading his mother's interview in TOI)
i heard they used to sell the musical instruments of his late father shekar to buy food for d family n c there's no instrument that can't be found in rahman sir's studio today
Im so proud of him that he's from my city!

Oh thats totally Great. I am sure both of them will make us proud! I still remember when Rahman performed in GGs.. that was totally awesome.. and and when he went up on stage and mouthed a dialoge in hindi.. that just gave me goosebumps.. I felt so proud of him..Rahman is totally class apart... his humble attitude and his talent is just amazing. Gulzar is too good!! I wish he would have come to GGs as well.. Lets see if these two can pull off another win for us.
