Where has Urmila Matondkar gone missing?

19 Nov, 2009 12:43 pm ISTlTNN
We last saw her playing a vamp in Karzzzz (2008). Since then Urmila Matondkar has been completely missing from Bollywood. Not that the actress has given up on work but she had a more pressing domestic crisis to attend to.

Urmila has been swamped in one family crisis after another. First, her paternal uncle, who had been terminally ill for a while, passed away, leaving her father bereaved. Soon after, her father had a major accident and had to undergo three major surgeries. As though having one ailing parent to attend to was not enough, Urmila's mother got so stressed with her husband's condition that she too ended up in the Intensive Care Unit.

Fortunately, her parents are now on the road to recovery. Commenting on the rough phase of life which lasted a few months, Urmila says, "These were terribly tough times but one manages to cope. The strength comes from within. I have survived and learnt a few lessons."

Now that the worst is over, Urmila is waiting to ignite the big screen again.

Urmila's tough times November 19th, 2009 - 4:28 pm ICT by sampurn

Urmila Matondkar has gone through a huge personal crisis in the last few months. The actress who was last seen in Karzzzz (2008) has dealt with a lot of mental trauma recently.

Her paternal uncle, who was ill for a very long time, passed away. Her grieving father then had an accident and had to get three surgeries done. And to add to her troubles, her mother had to be admitted to the ICU for falling ill due to stress. Luckily for Urmila, her parents are now getting better.

Urmila admits that these past few months have been hard on her but she got the strength to stand through all this. She states that she has learnt many lessons from all of this. She is now looking towards appearing in more films.

Urmila is a very nice lady. She has done such great body of work but still chooses to remain on the sidelines and not allude her various accomplishments. I rate her as one of the best actresses of our times. And I love the fact that in this day and age when actresses can't act and their potential is judged by who they are dating there is person like Urmila who are totally unfazed by these stupid tactics and she just lets her work speak.. rather than anything else. She is one of the few actresses who doesn't believe in gimmicks and publicity stunts and really doesn't like flashing traces of her private life in public. There are many actresses who "pretend" that they don't wanna cash in on the happenings of their personal life.. but they themselves feed the paparazzi with tidbids and pretend to be innocent.
Newayz this is not about others its about Urmila. I hope her family recovers from this trauma and everything gets back to normal for them. And I hope Urmi forever remains this humble and down to earth person that she is..

I absolutely agree. I think she is one of the most talented actresses. I always found her performances so natural and brilliant.
I like her stoic quality also when it comes to her personal life. I hope she and her family recovers from all these difficulties and pray she gets back on to the screen again to rock us with one more of her many brilliant performances.

OMG.. the way she acted in Ek haseena thi, bhoot and other movies I haven't seen anyone giving so much to a performace. She is absolutely brilliant.. she is so brilliant that most of the directors in bollywood are not even worthy of directing her.. its hard to write roles for her.. I still wanna se some good performances from her lets hope someone with a good script casts her in a nice role.. I was wondering why she was missing from the scene lately.. this explains it.. I really hope her family recovers soon and we see her back on big screen.

note she is one of the actor who never fall in any sort of silly controversies and never had those sucking link-ups with the co-stars by the media, now the actresses all of them should learn from her, how to remain HONEST
