8th Sept Written Update

Dadu is with his friends as they try to solve the problem of Avi and Varun meeting at the engagement.  One friend tells him to tell Varun the truth but Dadu is worried that Avi may not listen to reason and everything he is doing is for his grand daughter's happiness.  He tells the men that neither Avi nor her friends must come to know of this.

Avi's friends overhear and wonder what he is hiding.   They decide to find out what Dadu is up to.

At the grooms house Anu is overseeing the preparations.  Baa complains about everything looking less to which Anu replies that it was Mafatlal who bought the stuff.  Baa is exasperated at him.  Gajju comes in and Anu sends him upstairs to help Varun.

In his bedroom, Varun wakes up and on looking in the mirror, he screams and covers his face.  Gajju comes running in and asks Varun what happened.  Varun stands with his face covered and refuses to talk.  Gajju convinces Varun to lower his hands and when Varun does so, Gajju also screams.

Meanwhile, Rajshree comes to Anu with kajal for the grooms.  Anu notices her sad expression.  Adee comes down and asks Anu how he is looking.   Anu smiles and puts kajal behind his ear.  Adee asks if she is happy to which Anu replies that she will always be happy with her sons happiness.  Rajshree becomes upset and leaves.

Mafatlal comes in and says that Rs. 3000 is missing somewhere.   Adee looks shifty and tries to edge away but Mafatlal comments on how good the sherwani looks considering it's on rent.  Anu is shocked and tells Adee to go change now.  Adee signals to her that it's not on rent.

Mafatlal catches on and pretends to have a heart attack at the thought of Rs. 3000 wasted on a suit.

Adee quickly leaves and Anu expresses her concern to Mafatlal about whether Mallika will be a good wife for Adee.  He tells her not to worry about Adee as it's Varun they should be concerned about.

Evening…

The guests arrive but Varun is still not ready.  Avi looks around to which her friends tease her.  Parul comes in and introduces Avi to her friends.  Dadu is worried but his friends tell him not to worry.

Meanwhile Avi's friends overhear two women talking about the match between 'the girl' and Anu's son; commenting on the change of status.  Avi's friends are worried but head towards Avi where they talk about what Varun will be wearing.

Meanwhile Dadu's friends head up to Varun's room who refuses to open the door.  The friends quickly hide as Gajju comes up the stairs.  He tells Varun to hurry up as everyone is waiting – Varun is distressed and says how can he come downstairs when he looks like this.  Also, the tailor has yet to send his clothes.  Gajju runs to get Varun's clothes.

The friends overhear this and intercept Gajju with the clothes, which they swap over with their own designer clothes.  They knock on the door the same way as Gajju did and discreetly hand over the bag.

Downstairs Anu quietly tells Adee to ring Mallika as she has not yet arrived.  Adee does so but stops when he notices Mallika at the door.  Rajshree joins her and tells her to take the elders blessings.  Mallika does so reluctantly while her mom looks on with a sour expression.

Meanwhile Dadu's friends assure him that Varun will have the clothes on.  Dadu asks about the glasses – his friends realise their mistake.  All the guests ask about Varun to which Gajju points out the staircase.  All the guests look shocked as they Varun coming down.
