Mumbai, June 14 (IANS) Popular Bollywood actor Shiney Ahuja was arrested here late Sunday for allegedly raping his maid, police said.
The 19-year-old maid lodged a complaint with the Oshiwara police station in Andheri (West) Sunday evening, and police summoned Ahuja for questioning, a police official said.

The actor was arrested and investigations were on, the official said, adding that he would be produced before a court in Andheri Monday morning.
The maid had been working at Ahuja's apartment for nearly a year, police said.

The maid alleged that Shiney attacked her in the afternoon when there was no other person in the house. The result of the maid's medical examination are expected to be out on Monday. Currently she has been hospitalised.
"The domestic help, who has been working at Ahuja's residence in suburban Oshiwara, alleged that the actor had raped her today afternoon," Deputy Commissioner of Police Niket Kaushik said.
"We have registered an FIR and called Ahuja to the police station for questioning in the matter to verify the facts," he said.
Though this is Shiney's first serious legal trouble, earlier directors and co-stars had complained of his aggressive attitude.
Shiney Ahuja is married and had been living with his wife Anupam Ahuja and two year old daughter till some time back, since when Anupam has gone abroad with their daughter.
He rose to fame with commendable performance in his debut Bollywood venture 'Hazaron Khwahishein Aisi' in 2005. After the critically acclaimed movie, Shiney's stars rose steadily with movies like 'Gangster' (2006) and 'Khoya Khoya Chand' (2007) in which he gave powerful performances.
Neither Shiney, nor the police have yet been available for comments.
