The 70-year-old actor-director-cum-producer, who had been fighting against the dreaded disease, finally succumbed at 0230 hrs at his Farmhouse Chicbidarakaval about 20 km from the city.
He was recipient of several awards, including life-time achievement award in Hindi cinema.
Feroz Khan brother Sanjay Khan told reporters that the burial procession would be taken out at 1430 hrs and the mortal remains would be laid to rest at a Johnson Market burial grounds in the evening on Monday.
Several leading personalities of Bollywood have started arriving at his farm house to pay their last respects to the departed soul.
This included Sanjay's son-in-law and superstar Hrithik Roshan. Scribes were barred from entering the Farmhouse, where the body was kept.
Feroz Khan, who has acted in more than 50 films, had directed and produced several hit Hindi films, including Dharmaatma, Qurbani and Jaanbaaz. He had last acted in the hit film Welcome' in 2007.
He is survived by his son and actor Fardeen Khan and daughter Laila.
Feroz Khan was born and brought up in Bangalore. From a modest beginning, working in an abbatior, he made his debut as second lead in Didi (1960). His first big hit was in 1965 with the release of Oonche Log.
He produced, directed and starred in the 1975-77 film Dharmaatma, which was the first Indian film to be shot in Afghanistan and was also his first block-buster hit as producer, director and actor.
