Suria gives the money to a lady waiting and leaves.  Gopi in his room walking and thinking about Karthik's inviting him to the ponnu parkum function on Friday.  Gopi is very sad and finally goes to sleep with his niece by his side.  Gopi's brother comes into the room to take his daughter away but seeing Gopi's sad face, leaves.  He tells his wife about how sad Gopi looks and that he cannot bear to see the brother grieving.  Mahi then suggests looking for some other girl for Gopi.

 

In Ranjini's house, everyone is busy preparing for the function that evening.  Ranjini sits in her room sad and also thinking.  Rajagopal tells his wife to ask Ranjini to get ready.  Saradha goes in and tells Ranjini to get ready for her sake.  Ranjiji sits staring at the jewellery.

 

Maih's aunt comes to visit with her family.  Looks like her daughter is ll grown up.  Mahi is very happy to see Malini.  Everyone sits down to eat and Malini is busy serving food for Gopi.  Mahi and her husband look at them.  Mahi then says the food is very tasty and asks her aunt why she wan't taught to cook like her.  Aunt says she did not cook but Malini did.  Mahi is beaming.  Gopi is not paying attention to his surrounding but just puts food into his mouth and keeps staring into space.

 

Screen changes from Ranjini to Gopi and back.  After the meal, Gopi is sitting outside and Malini give him coffee.  Gopi's brother and SIL come out and ask Malini if she only gives coffee to Gopi and no one else.  Malini runs into the house.  Mahi then tells how fast Mahi has grown and Gopi agrees.  Mahi then asks if Gopi likes Mahi and if he does..............Gopi is shocked and stares at his SIL.  Screen freezes on both Gopi and Ranjini.

 

 

Continued from yesterday.  Brother and SIL tell Gopi they had actually brought him to her aunt's house to propose Malini for him.  Gopi gets upset and asks why they lied to him about going to temple.  Brother tells him they had to as he would not have agreed to come otherwise. SIL tells him to make a good decision.  Brother to tells that this is the best proposal.  Gopi thinks about it.  Karthik calls him and asks where he is and why he is not at his house for the function.  Gopi says he is not at Kumbakonum and that he cannot make it and wishes them the best.  Karthik tells Gopi to be at the wedding at least and hangs up.  Ranjini is listening to all this quetly.

 

Gopis's brother and SIL come back to him and asks what he has decided.  SIL tells Gopi just because Ranjini had cheated him doesn't mean all girls are like that.  SIL says they want Gopi's marriage to take place an hour before Ranjini's.  Gopi asks his brother and SIL when did Ranjini cheat him.  He tells them that both Rajini and he had never talked about their feelings and even if they had and Ranjini had decided to marry someone else doesn't mean he has to get married to another girl and tells his brother and SIL to forget about looking for a bride for him.  He tells them to understand his feelings and tell her aunt and uncle the same and leaves.

 

In Ranjini's house, everyone is waiting for the maapilai to arrive.  Karthik checks on his sister and tells her to be ready.  After waiting for some time and no sign of the maapilai, Karthik and Meena asks their father to call and check what happened.   Rajagopal calls the maapillai's dad and ask why they are late and if they are caught in traffic.  Looks like the maapillai's family had heard about Ranjini's ail term and also about the first maapillai who had been turned down.  rajagopal tries to explain but in vain.  He finally hangs up and starts to cry.  He tells the family it was his mistake for not informing them about Ranjini's jail sentence and the doctor maapilai and now that these people have heard about it they don't want to have anything do do with Rajagopal's family.  Rajagopal says he is tryingto do good for his family but everything goes wrong.  Ranjini listens to this and takes off all the jewellery and flowers and keeps them back.

 

Vasundra asks her manager Ramachandran if he has any news about Madhu's eye operation.  She says although her mother and neighbor aunty Vasala are there, they are not able to keep an eye on her all the time.  Ramachandran says he has spoken to the doctors and they will know in a few days.  Vasundra tells him to keep in touch with the doctor frequently so that Madhu's eye surgery can be scheduled soon.  Ramachandran says ok and leaves.  Madhu comes in with her cell and tells her mother that Ranjini akka is in the line.  Vasundra asks who and Madhu tells her the akka who saved her the other day.  Vasundra picks up the phone and says 'hello'  Ranjini says the same.  THODARUM.

   

 

Chandramathi calls her brother and tells him she needs someone to murder the judge.  Brother is shocked but Chandra tell him he is not accepting her bribe.  Brother tells her he knows Suria who will do it.  Chandra wants to meet Suria.

 

Suria and his sidekick are walking and Suria talks about needing money.  Sidekick tells Suria to ask Loga but Suria says Loga is like a bank and should be used to ask for big amounts.  Right now he needs only small amount.  Selva goes to him and tells him about his sister needing him to finish of the judge.  Sidekick tells Suria not to agree as this person is of a high position and could land them in big trouble.  Suria tells Selva how much but is told to meet Chandra and talk the price.

 

Suria and Selva meets Chandra in a secluded place.  Suria asks why kill the judge.  She could try to bribe him.  Chandra says she has tried but not successful.  Suria says to find his weakness and work with that.  Suria says he will do it but want 5 Lakhs (4 in cash and 1 by check) and he will collect once the work is done and leaves.  Chandra asks Selva if Suria can be trusted  and he says yes.

 

Ranjini meets Satia and they talk about how Chandra tried to bribe the judge but was not successful.  Satia says the judge is very honest.  Ranjini then asks if a person who gave power of attorney dies, would the POA be cancelled.  Satia says yes and Ranjini asks why not she cancel her mother's POA to Chandra.  Satia says she can but two things will happen.  First both families will come to know that Ranjini is Neela's daughter and they would not be able to locate all of Chandra's wealth.  Satia says it is not time for them to take that step yet and Ranjini agrees.

 

Sidekick is at the courthouse and talks to a man there (muted dialog).  Suria is lying down and Sidekick tells him about how honest the judge is - doesn't own a house. His wife is a homemaker and a daughter Geetha who goes to college.  He informs Suria that Geetha is the Judge's life.  Suria thinks and thanks his sidekick.

 

Chandra getting ready and Ranjini arrives and has a worried look.  Chandra asks why she looks so worried.  Ranjini says today is judgement day and she is afraid they would loose the case.  Chandra says they will not.  Ranjini asks how when their attorney's argements were not strong.  Chandra says everyone has a price and this judge too has one and the judgement will bein her favor.  She gets her cell and tries to call someone and after several tries is unable to get thru.  Ranjini watches from behind.  Chandra then tells Ranjini they should leave and walks ahead.  Ranjini walks behind.  THODARUM.

 

Ranjini and Chandra on the way to the court.  Chandra is all smiles while Ranjini looks worried.  In another car, Judge Raghavan is onhis way to the court.  Judge's daughter is on her way to college.  She has a flat and gets out of the car and looks at the tire.  Suria and one of his friends walk to her and ask her what is wrong.  She tells them about the flat and Suria tells his friend to help change the tire.  While his friend helps the girl, Suria takes the girl's cell from the car and calls the judge and tells him to give judgement favoring Chandra or else he will not see his daughter.  Judge gets worried.

 

At the court everyone waits for Judge to arrive.  Chandra's lawyer talks about the case and says that they are not able to pay all their creditors at the same time and wants the court to give them more time to settle the money.  He also says that there is another case pending on the IT case.  He says the land belong sto Chandra's mother and it should not reflect on Chandra.  The prosecutor tries to argue saying Chandra has cheated many.  Judge just hears the prosecutor talk but passes judgement in Chandra's favor.  Int he meantime, the flat is fixed and judge's daughter is on her way to college.  Judge calls her and asks if everything is ok and she says yes.

 

Ranjini is shocked at the judgement while Chandra is being congratulated by her people.  Ranjini calls and informs Satia about the outcome and he too is shocked.

 

Suria meets Chandra andher brother and receives the cash and check.  Chandra asks why he wanted 1 lakh in check.  Suria says that if he needs proof if he gets into trouble because of this job.  He says this check will proof that he worked for Chandra and will save him and he leaves.  Chandra andher brother smile at each other.  THODARUM.
