Show starts with hari's marriage proposal, everyone in his family are tensed by this because his marriage has been called off 11 times before and they fear that it will happen for the 12th by the dulhan's side as always. Due to an accident the bride's family breaks off the marriage and everyone is disheartened, enter hari a sweet, simple, loving boy who has no interest in getting married as yet because he wants to proof himself and believes in marrying the person you fall in love it. bhabhi is dishearthened and she decides to go to some baba because she feels that hari is being followed by a shadow and atma.the baba tells her that there is a atma following him and she will never let hari marry anyone, and so if within 16 days he is not married his life will face danger and the girl has to fight with the atma for her hubby she has to be brave, bhabhi is given a dhaga for hari which gets lost. Shree is introduced a sweet, scared of everything girl. She faces her own problems as it is when hari enters her life by running away from home because he refuses to marry as yet.
Faiba has decided to make make Shree braver but she fails. Hari has already left for Janakpur, this prevents Madhu from tying the protective dhaga on his wrist. Hari is going there as an engineer to build a mall in place of a temple. Madhu thinks od couriering the dhaga to Hari. Shree's younger brother scared her with a story about pighalta pappu who is this mud monster who catches people. While coming to Janakpur, Hari's car breaks down. He tells his friend Nihaal who is traveling with him that he will get water for the car.Here, the spirit is following the courier guy and makes him fall. All his letters are spread on the street and he gathers all of them and goes away leaving behind the parcel carrying the dhaga.Hari goes into the jungle to bring the water. Shree has decided she will prove she is brave so she tells her dad that she will go to the forest alone and collect dry woods. Lappu, her best friend tries to accompany her but she tells him this is something she has to do alone. She goes to forest and starts collecting the woods. While fetching water Hari falls into mud. Shree hears a ringing and is scared of what it is. She checks it and it's someone's cell-phone. She picks it up.Hari is covered with mud and he sees Shree with his cell phone. He calls her but Shree gets scared looking at him and hits him with a stone.Hari faints and Shree runs away. Shree runs trough the village saying pighalta pappu is coming. Hari follows her still covered in mud. Nihaal comes and throws water on Hari but Hari is smitten by Shree's beauty. Goaded by Faiba, Shree goes to Hari to say sorry to what happened. The spirit gets angry by seeing them and there is lightening and storm. Scared by lightening Shree goes into Hari's arms.At home, Shree's father is thinking the storm might the sign of bad things to come as Shree's kundali has shown that if Shree gets married in next sixteen days, it will be bad for Shree's future.
Back in Raghuvanshi house, Nikki is thinking of marrying her younger sister to Hari. Everyone is happy to hear this. Madhu bhabhi, knowing the truth about spirit, is not very excited. Nikki is angry at Madhu bhabhi for avoiding the issue. Nikki thinks that Madhu is weighing Rajni's past against her presence(Rajni has broken up with her boyfriend). In Janakpur, Shree and Hari are getting closer by the day. Hari is trying to repair a birds nest and Chotu deliberately tells Shree that he is breaking it and provokes Shree to hit him with a stone. She hits Hari and he sees her. She gets scared and runs away, Hari follows her. Shree is pushed into the lake by the spirit. Hari jumps in water and saves her.The Mahant tells Madhu that he will try and capture the spirit so she won't interfere with Hari's life. Madhu tris to call Hari to know his opinion about Rajni but she can't get through to him. Rajni has agreed to get married to Hari and the preparations for the engagement have started. Hari confesses to Nihaal that he loves Shree. Shree's father is worried about kundali's prediction and decides to take away Shree to Vadodara. Shree comes to know that Hari is going to break the old temple and make a mall there. She gets angry and tells him how much the temple means to her and villagers and he has no right to break it. Hari tells her he won't break the temple and make a mall there. Shree is happy to hear this and goes away. But she loses her way and gets lost. She sees a child near a well calling her. She fears the child might fall into the well. This is nothing but an illusion created by the spirit to trap Shree. Mahant is trying hard to stop spirit from hurting some girl. He is trying to catch spirit in a bottle. The spirit pushes Shree into the well. But Hari comes there and saves her. He takes her to a hospital and goes to call a doctor. The spirit sensing this opportunity tries too hurt Shree by making the ceiling fan fall on her. Mahant is successful in catching the spirit in the bottle. Hari comes in time with the doctor. Hari starts thinking that life is impossible for him without Shree.
Mahant tells Madhu that she has to bury the bottle and take care not to break it. He also warns her that the spirit from inside the bottle will create illusions and not to fall for them. Back home, everyone is worried where Madhu has gone. The spirit creates the illusion of Hari and he tells Madhu to give him the bottle. Madhu is successful in fighting this illusion. Madhu buries the bottle in a deserted land thinking now Hari is safe from spirit. Sumati gives Madhu the responsibility of getting Hari to agree to this relationship. Hari and Shree have become very close friends.
Pujari has decided not to leave Janakpur as yet as its time for Samuh Vivah(group marriages). He asks Hari to see the ceremonies for himself. Shree asks Hari to help her in assisting in the preparations. She tells him it means so much to her. One day she will get married in Samah Vivah. After burying the bottle, Madhu is relieved and after observing Rajni she decides Rajni is the right choice for Hari. Faiba is somehow trying to get Shree married and also, brings a match for her. But Hari and Nihaal are successfull in not letting this happen
Anant is unhappy that rituals are happening without Hari's consent. Nikki is happy to see Madhu involved in everything and gets emotional. Madhu calls Hari to tell him about everything..just when she hears something about a girl. Madhu is worried about the consequences if what she heard is true. She wants to tell Nikki but Anant advises her against it. Madhu decides to go to Janakpur herself and bring back Hari. The site where Madhu buried the bottle is under construction and the bottle is dug up by the worker. A chills sees this bottle and picks it him. His father sensing something bad, throws the bottle in a river. It gets caught in a fisherman's net. The fisherman comes under the spirit's influence and sells it to a pot-maker. The pot-maker decorates the bottle to make it more attractive.
The Samuh Vivah is in full swing and Pujari tells the couples that whoever gets married this day, are tied together forever. Shree goes back home to pick up something she forgot. She encounters Madhu in the way who asks her for the way. Shree gets scared looking at a kitten and Madhu laughs at her for being so frightened. Shree goes back to the temple and is happy to see the ceremonies. Hari is looking at her lovingly. The Pujari announces that all the grooms should put sindoor on the maang of their respective wives. Something takes over Hari and he goes and puts sindoor in Shree's maang. Madhu bhabhi reaches there to see this. Everyone is shocked.
