Kulbhushan Kohli

 

He is a college professor by profession. He is a loving husband. Most of the time he stays silent and bears all his wife's tatrums. That includes finanacial matters even their daughter's love life. Honor and respect are very important to him. He considers his for daughters his real treasures and investments in life, and not money. Even though he is very strong in his morals he can do anything for the sake of his daughters and his wife's happiness.

 

Kulraj Kohli( Himani Shivpuri)

 

There is only one thing in Kul's mind and that is her daughter's marriages. She want to see all of them happily settled (not to mention to rich husbands) That's her only wish and she can go to any extent to fulfill this. She is willing to put up with any insult for the sake of her daughter's marriages to wealthy families. Most of the time she seems to be unaware of her daughter's pain. For example: she tried her best to sepaarte Yuvraj from trishna so Trish could marry Rajdeep. (a richer groom). Even she is after rich grooms, she loves her daughters very much, and always prays for their happiness even if the cost is her own.

She is the oldest daughter of the kohlis. As the oldest she is protective over the rest of the sisters. So when one is upset, or has any sort of problems she will be the 1st one to help. She loves Raghav. But their marriage can not take place as she has bidhvadosh. According to her kundli (astrology chart) if she gets married within 10 years her husband will die. She was unaware of this situation till recently. She loves her family and is willing to sacrifice her love for their sake.

She is 2nd daughter. Trishna is the strongest of all daughters. She has a playful nature. She will always make jokes or bother her mom around the house. She never wanted to get married till she fell in love with Yuvraj by her mom's persistence. When her mom decided Yuvraj was wrong for her and Rajdeep (Yuvraj's rich best friend) would suit Trishna better she fell into a minor depression. Her pleas were ignored by her mother. Eventually she decided she can't live witthout Yuvraj. She was willing to leave her family dressed in bridal outfit when Yuvraj walked in with his wife Tanya (her younger sister) Trishna felt betrayed and broke all ties with Yuvraj and Tanya and married Rajdeep. After marriage she tries her best to forget Yuvraj and move on with Rajdeep. She finally realizes she has fallen in love with Rajdeep when he gets stabbed while saving her. She asks bhagwaan for Rajdeep's life as she can't live without him and promises to be a good wife. After she finds out about the truth about Tany and Yuvraj's marriage she becomes a loving sister to Tanya once again. And her respect for Yuvraj goes so high she states even though she loves Rajdeep and will always love him from now on she worships Yuvraj.

She is the 3rd daughter. She is the sweetest of all of them. She is very close to her sisters specially Mansha who she shares everything with. She loves her family unconditionally. Nothing comes before them, not even herself. She is very meek by nature and rarely speaks up unless somethign gigantic has taken place. When a local gunda name Kanaiyah stalks her she stays quiet because of her families safety. Even when Kanaiyah kidnaps her for a day, stalks her in class, lock himself in the bathroom with her or even comes to her room at night she stays mute. Finally she finds enough courage to face to him only to get raped by him. After tanya's rape she completely breaks and tries to kill herself. Her mother saves her ofcourse and she is also the only person who was aware of the rape beside Yuvraj. When Kanaiyah starts to appear in her life again blackmailing her about marriage she decides to marry him to save her family's honor. But at the alter Yuvraj comes and beats Kanaiyah up. When Tanya screams at him stating " no one will marry her" Yuvraj fills her maang with sindoor and marries her. Everyone was shocked about the marriage and started giving her the cold shoulders while they sympathized with Trishna. Though she had her mom and Yuvraj's support she kept suffering by seeing her sister in pain. They are also the 2 people who made her promise to stay quiet on this matter. After her marriage she found out she is pregnant. She tries to kill herself once again so she won't have to make Yuvraj suffer. She jumps off the cliff but stays stuck because of her saree. Yuvraj saves her by blackmailing her with his life. He told her if she died he will jump in with her and kill himself. Yuvraj promises Tanya again he will take care of her and the child. Trishna gets furious by the news and takes her fury on Yuvraj. She is about to slap him when tanya stops her hand and lets her know she won't stand her husband's insult. She finally tells the truth.

Mansha

 

She is the youngest. Hence she is free from all the marriage dramas for now. She has a bubbly personality. Her main priority is tennis. She loves all her sisters, specially Tanya who she is close with. She gets hurt when Tanya starts hiding secrets from her (regarding kanaiyah). After Tanya's rape, and during the wedding ceremonies she sympathized with Trishna, leaving Tanya on her own. But after wedding she seems to be over the bitterness. She misses her sisters dearly, and often cries over the memories.

Nupur Malhotra

 

A stylish high society lady. Money and status are important to her. She is a lady of power and skillfully tries to connect with people who will be useful. Her children are her priority. She loves her son Rajdeep and daughter Sanjana. Even though she might not like it she carries a smile on her for the sake of her children. She has a special connection with Rajdeep. She is always scared of losing her. It can be called a weakness and some people take full adavantage of it. She doesn't like trishna. Trishna's status is an issue . But there is also some sort of power struggle. She likes to control everything. And by Trishna being in the house she is losing control over a lot of things day by day. 

 

Rajdeep Malhotra( Sanjit Bedi)

 

He is his mother's son. Everything else comes after that. He loves him mother dearly. He will never hear a word against his mom. Even if it is from his wife trishna. He believes he knows his mom inside out and trusts her completely. He is very close with Yuvraj, his friend. He considers Yuvraj his brother. After his mother he won't stand a word against Yuvraj. When he 1st came to India he fell in love with Trishna. After she rejected him he completely broke down and told Yuvraj he couldn't live without her. He is unaware of trishna and Yuvraj's relationship and thinks Yuvraj always loved Tanya Eventually Rajdeep and trishna gets married and during the honeymoon Trishna falls in love with him. From the 1st day of marriage till now the couple is having a hard time smoothing things over. It's always one propblem or another that keeps popping up.

 

Yuvraj Malhotra(Omar Vani)

 

Even though he has no one he is considered a part of Malhotra family. Not because he works for them and lives with them but mostly because he is treated like one. Nupur might be a high class arrogant lady but she loves Yuvraj like a son and never looks at him in a condescending way. In return Yuvraj calls Nupur mom and loves her the same way. Rajdeep also sees him as a brother along with Sanjana. Yuvraj can be personafied as " knight in shining armor" He is always ready to solve things or save someone. After he came to India and started living with the Kohlis he fixed Raghav and Sujata's problem. He was also the 1st person to know about Tanya's stalker Kanaiyah. He had couple of confrontations with Kanaiyah where he left him wounded. He shares a close relationship with all 4 of them sisters. He falls in love Trishna. When her mother disapproves of the relationship and Rajdeep expresses his love for trishna Yuvraj walks out of their lives. He comes back afterawhile, changing his mind about the sacrifice. When Rajdeep breaks down he decides to sacrifice once again. He is very protective of Tanya. He marries her after beating Kanaiyah up at the alter. After their marriage he is with her like a shadow. He tries to protect Tanya from all harms. When Trishna's words hurt Tanya he lashes out on her.When Tanya finds out she is pregnant he promises to take care of the child like his own. It's rare to see him get angry as he puts up everyone's harsh words with a smile on his face but when Tanya tries to abort the baby he slaps her.

 

Sanjana Malhotra

 

She has a bubbly personality, always happy and cheerful. She loves her mom, but she is aware her mom is not always as excited as her on matters. She loves her 2 brothers, Yuvraj and Rajdeep. She is always trying to mess with both of them. Both of the brother happily put up with her. She loves her bhabis, Trishna and Tanya. And in a short amount of time she gets attached to them. She loves her kaka the most, who is not only the father figure in her life but also a friend.

 

Shakti

 

He is married to Nupur's younger sister. He is witty, and a sharp observer. From the very 1st second he knew trishna was hiding something. He is still after the secret. He is always trying put words in Nupurs ears against trishna. He knows Rajdeep is Nupur's weakness and he always reminds her he is changing and she might lose his son

 

Mausi (don't know the name)

 

She is Nupur's younger sister. She is seen as someone very dumb by her husband and sister. Part of the reason why she always tries to win their approval. She stronglu beleives no matter how great of a deed she does her husband will always consider her dumb. All her situations are quite funny.

 

Kaka

He is the father figure in Sanjana's life. His business is established in Canada. Unlike Nupur he is respectful towards everyone. He is very proud of the two sankskari (cultured) bahus Trishna and Tanya.

Mr. Trivedi

 

He is a disgusting politician. He is ready to stoop to any level and plot any schemes to make sure his son doesn't marry Sujata. He is always coming up with new plans to make the kohlis suffer or insult them publicly. These days he tries hard to connect with Nupur, by reminding her he is a powerful man. He also tries his best to set Nupur against the kohlis.

 

Raghav Trivedi

 

Even he was seen as a meek character in the beginning these days he is strong. He loves Sujata and can't imgane life without her. He is willing do anything even leave his father to be with her.

 

 

Kanaiyah

 

He is a local gunda after Tanya. He talks in weird terms and riddles. He is absolutely obessed with her and won't stand any guy even looking at her. He is very controlling, and wants to control Tanya's every action. He manages to keep Tanya close by threatening her family's safety. It was going well for him till Yuvraj came. He is always scared Yuvraj wants to steal his Tanya away from him because he lost his heart to her. When Tanya decides to face him and push him away he rapes her. He starts harassing her all over again, and tries to marry her. The wedding was interrupted by Yuvraj who marries Tanya on the spot. Cureently he is jail. But he vows to come back and seek revenge against Yuvraj for taking his tanya away.
