Mehdi Hassan is much classically trained. His ghazals are so difficult to sing. Even Lata treats him like her teacher. His voice is superb.

Muhammad Rafi is classically trained too. His voice is superb too.

It's hard to say. I would say Mehdi Hassan. 👏

as far as ghazals, i guess mehdi hassan.
but its not fair to compare a filmy singer with a ghazal singer..i doubt rafi has even sung that many ghazals in his life.
i seriously doubt hassan could sing rafi's romantic,sad,happy,funny,mad,nafrat,bhajan or qawwali songs 😃

try comparing sonu,shaan and kk
or shreya and lata
or sunidhi and asha
not sanu and lata or rafi saahab and hassan just because hassan and rafi both sound like ghazal singers!!! thats the same realon why filfare gives the awards to gulzar.. even though his lyrics are just about ok...
i doubt rafi has even sung that many ghazals in his life

I am not going to compare them because both of them are great singers - Mehdi Hassan is class of his own.

Again they both are great (legends).

Both of you have the same Name. One is Jo and the other Joe😆

Mehdi sang ghazals mainly and was very well respected too.

i agree, we should just enjoy, every singer is good in their own way, and eveyone has different taste and their favourites

you cant compare them. they are both high class singers. i woud say this that Mehdi Hassan sahab is the best singer in pakistan. Rafi sahab is the best in India. by the wayMehdi Hasan sahab also sang filmi gaane😉
