Brief update for October 11, 2008

Nail-biting moments ahead!

Judges had a tough time as they had to find the top 28 singers of the show. This meant 14 girls and 14 guys had to be selected out of the 50 contestants who remained at the end of Day 2. Contestants had to sing individually with a live band. Bhanupratap sang Zara si dil mein de jagah tu. Monalisa couldn't take off because of stage fright. The poor girl came out with tears in her eyes. The competition is heating up. Hail the super judges! The judges seemed as stressed out as the contestants. To defuse the tension Kailash sang O Rabba. Annu started dancing and even sang a couple of verses in praise of Kailash. This show had Sonali in splits. Soon even she got up to dance with Annu. Meet the lucky few! It was crunch time. The fates of the contestants were to be revealed. Remo was the first contestant to find out what the verdict was. Remo was sweating bullets. Annu told him to leave. As a dejected Remo turned around to leave, Annu said that he must leave with a smile on his face as he's been selected. Remo's joy knew no bounds. Ananya and 26 others received the good news after Remo. Last up were Bhanupratap and Kiran. This time around Bhanu's luck is in place ' he made it into the Top 28. The girl with a teddy bear Sunakshi, the 17-year-old girl from Delhi always tags along her lucky charm ' her fav teddy bear. Javed Akhtar was pleased with her bright positive attitude and witty comments. Sunakshi was confident of being chosen and she was proved right by the four judges. Koi jeeta, koi hara

Sreejita and Nirali were up on stage. The judges told them that only one of them have made it. Sreejita was the gifted singer who made it to the top 28, while Nirali had to leave. She cried uncontrollably, while Sreejita consoled her. We saw relief on the faces of the judges who had worked hard for the last four months who had to sift through the talent. An exciting time awaits us all!
