By ApunKaChoice

Yash Chopra is planning his next movie with Shahrukh Khan and Amitabh Bachchan .

The filmmaker, who has made romantic films ahead of time, is gearing up for his next venture. Yash Chopra was thinking of remaking Kabhi Kabhi but has shelved the idea now. Instead, he is conceptualizing another flick in romantic genre with SRK.

It is learnt that Chopra is keen to have SRK with Big B together again after his last movie
Veer Zaara . He wants to cast both the superstars in key roles. Yash Chopra himself will be directing the film, based on contemporary scenario with a fresh love-story.
Chopra generally takes a long break when it comes to direction. The time span from
Dil To Pagal Hai to 'Veer Zaara' was a long wait.

The official spokesperson of
Yashraj Films is quoted as saying: "Yashji is busy finalizing the script, but has not finalized the cast yet".

As for now, he is busy with his son's project
Rab Ne Bana Di JodiAditya Chopra is directing 'Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi' and is donning the cap of director after almost eight years. His last movie was Mohabbatein .

My best is yet to come: Amitabh Bachchan
16 Sep, 2008, 1113 hrs IST, IANS

NEW DELHI: Veteran actor Amitabh Bachchan's performance in "The Last Lear" has been tagged as his best ever. But he says that his best is yet to be seen.

"It would be a terrible day for an artiste if people classify his contribution as his best. That would be the end of his work. There is always an opportunity to work better and the best is yet to come," Amitabh said.

He added: "I am a simple actor. As long as I am offered challenging roles, I would like to take them and experiment with acting always."

Amitabh was here with his team of "The Last Lear" including actors Arjun Rampal, Shefali Shah and Divya Dutta, director Rituparno Ghosh and producer Arindam Chaudhuri to promote the film last week.

Though Preity Zinta plays a pivotal role in the film, she gave the event a miss, as she was busy shooting for a film abroad.

Abhishek Bachchan escapes Delhi blast due to traffic jam
IANS  | Tuesday, 16 September , 2008, 18:15

A traffic snarl proved providential for Bollywood actor Abhishek Bachchan, who decided to turn back just as he was nearing Connaught Place to attend a function there Saturday evening - minutes before two blasts shook the area. His father, Amitabh Bachchan, wrote on his blog, "Shattered and shocked he called to say he was alright." "Abhishek had left in the afternoon for New Delhi and was on his way to Connaught Place for a function he had to attend. Minutes away from there, the traffic became a snarl and he knew he would not make it in time so he asked to turn back. And the blast happened just then," Amitabh wrote on his blog www.bigb.bigadda.com on Sunday. Abhishek was here as part of a media promotional event and to shoot for the last scenes of his "Dilli 6". However, he had to cancel his programme after the blast, considering the gravity of the situation, his father wrote. "He was just not able to conduct them (activities). Cancelled them. It would have been too insensitive," he wrote. The veteran actor revealed that his son has left a decision on whether to continue the shooting to the producers. "He has left the decision to the producers. Cancelling would be interpreted as succumbing to the threat. I wonder what they decide." Amitabh also expressed his grief for the victims of Saturday's serial blasts. "Jaya and I sit alone in the house, our hearts still with the tragedy in Delhi. What of those who bore the brunt - innocent unaware and victims." "We live in difficult times. What kind of an environment are we leaving behind for our next generation? Or do we not concern ourselves with that? We need peace and harmony," he concluded.

The serial blasts - two each in Connaught Place and Greater Kailash M-Block market and one in Gaffar Market - left 23 people dead and around 100 injured.

A sensitive Indian - Abhishek Bachchan
by Rajiv Dutta

< =text/>

The recent blasts in Delhi have left the entire country in a state of shock. And the heinous incident has particularly disturbed Abhishek Bachchan as he was in Delhi on Saturday when the blasts occurred. The happy-go-lucky actor, who is otherwise famous for his antics and humour had a different story to tell on Saturday.

A source close to the actor said, "Abhishek had gone to Delhi on Saturday for some important meeting and promotional activities as the brand ambassador for a particular product. He was staying at his own house in Delhi. In the evening, he had to drive around Connaught Place to reach the venue of an event."

"As he was nearing Connaught Place, Abhishek heard a huge bang. He had no idea what the noise was all about. It was only when he reached the hotel that learnt that the noise he had heard was because of the blast that happened at Connaught Place," added the source.

We contacted Amitabh  Bachchan to know about Abhishek's terrifying experience. Amitabh said, "Yes, Abhishek had just reached Delhi for a press meet for Drona, an Omega event and then to shoot for Dilli 6. He was minutes away from the blasts at Connaught Place… Horrifying and shocking the tragic events…"

The event was cancelled and Abhishek was asked to go back home no sooner did he reach the venue. "On his way back, he witnessed the panic and the traumatic sight where the blasts had taken place. He saw all the commotion and destruction, which disturbed him a lot," said the source.

According to the source, on Sunday he was supposed to meet some of the most well-known media people for interviews. Initially, Abhishek was reluctant to cancel his meetings, but he also said that he was just not in the right frame of mind to give interviews.

When contacted, Abhishek's friend, Shristi Behl said, "Like any sensitive Indian, Abhishek too was deeply affected by the blasts. He cancelled his scheduled events as he felt he was not up for it and it would be too insensitive to promote a film, while the city was going through such a tragic situation."

"He's an extremely sensitive person and was tremendously disturbed by what he saw. Generally, he's always naughty and up to some or the other mischief. But after the incident, he was just not himself and was unusually serious. He just went home that evening and didn't meet anyone after that," added the source.

Amitabh Bachchan to do 'Aladdin' sequel too
Spicezee Bureau

Mumbai, Sept 13: The makers of 'Aladdin', the film that guarantees some of the best visual effects ever seen in Bollywood, have already announced a sequel to the movie even before the release of the flick starring Amitabh Bachchan.

The sequel is slated to go on floors sometime next year and the producers Eros Films want to retain the original star cast. After having a look at the rushes of Aladdin starring Amitabh Bachchan, Sanjay Dutt, Riteish Deshmukh & Jackie Fernandes, Eros (the producer) is confident of the product.

In an interview given to a website, Aladdin's director Sujoy Ghosh gushed "I was completely taken aback and touched by Eros' reaction. This was a very nice gesture by them. Aladdin 2 will be a bigger challenge and much more fun. I don't understand crossover cinema but the aim is to make a full on Hindi film, songs, dances et all, for a global audience."

Amitabh Bachchan has apparently given his go ahead for the sequel and is all set to start working on it once he is done with his current projects. Guess Papa Bachchan is following the footsteps of Aby baby, as the latter has confirmed working for the sequel of his SFX flick 'Drona'.

Abhishek Bachchan on Heaven-sent deliverance

"Ataraxis and harmony is all that we need. Such wonderful words: they are easy to type on your computers. So difficult to achieve it in reality" uttered Amitabh Bachchan who had his rachides frozen till he got to know, his sweet son Abhishek hightailed miraculously from the clutches of calamitous scenario of serious bomb blasts in Delhi. It was an occasion of grand-fiesta at Connaught Palace, Delhi where Abhishek was supposed to be a part in it. It was all about standing on needle between life and death as a strenuous traffic jam had indeed saved Abhishek.

"Wedged between heavy traffic, Abhishek guessed he wouldn't make it in time, since it was getting more grimace and asked the chauffeur to turn back. Minutes later, panic-stricken in anguish and appalling over the situation, he called to say he was alright" had written Bachchan in his blog.

Big B added continuing that he was distressed on coming across the pathetic lives of victims and said that how cruel these terrorists were to perform such sadistic deeds.

Well, Abhishek Bachchan has few shots left for his forthcoming flick 'Delhi 6' and he wondered whether producers would continue shooting amidst of tensed situation. But, he has left the decisiveness in the hands of producers and directors…

Katie Holmes, Jon Bon Jovi, Amitabh Bachchan
The Associated Press
Published: September 19, 2008
< = =text/> document.writeln('');

Katie Holmes made her Broadway debut in "All My Sons" this week, and her husband Tom Cruise thought it was a knockout. When asked for his verdict on Holmes's performance, Cruise stopped for a moment while moving through the crowd at the Gerald Schoenfeld Theatre, then said: "Did you see it? ... It was extraordinary." John Lithgow, Dianne Wiest and Patrick Wilson also star in the revival of "All My Sons," a play by Arthur Miller first performed in New York in 1947. (AP)

Jon Bon Jovi and the Bollywood star Amitabh Bachchan will perform at this year's Live Earth concert, set for Mumbai in December. Last year, Live Earth consisted of 150 acts performing in a 24-hour period across four continents. But the concert organizers, Al Gore and Kevin Wall, decided this year to stage only one event in India. "India is not the country that created the climate crisis, but it is a developing nation and we need to open doors for local environmental organizations" there, Wall said. Proceeds will go to charities such as Light A Billion Lives, a nonprofit organization headed by Rajendra K. Pachauri, the Indian scientist who shared the 2007 Nobel Peace Prize with Gore for promoting awareness of global warming. (AP)
