"Nandini! Wake up already!! We are getting late!!" he said sternly. Nandini snuggled deeper into her blanket trying to avoid his voice or may be his plans.
"Nandini!!" he called out again throwing away her blanket which was clutching dearly. "Get.Up" he commanded. Nandini whined.
"Let.me.sleep!" she replied in equal passion. He sighed and with a pursed lips he said "if you don't get up by yourself, I will take you there in the same avatar you are in! let the world know how nandini looks early in the morning what say?" he winked.
Nandini looked at him shocked "don't you dare!" she warned. "aww baby, yes I will!!" he edged closer. Nandini flew out of the bed and dashed to the washroom. "I Hate you!" she yelled behind. "I love you too!" he replied with a chuckle.
Once she was inside the washroom he whispered to himself "you have to face them nandini.. you have to face him!"

"I still don't want to go you know.." nandini sat inside the car with a frown. Igniting the engine he smiled at her.. "you have to! Its been years now!"
"you don't understand! I haven't seen them in years! I haven't seen them since that night.." nandini shut her eyes recalling incidents of that night how she was almost buried inside the broken building. he placed his assuring hand on hers.
"why are you doing this?" she asked. He looked "you still remember your first love" was all he said. Nandini was shocked. How did she not sense this jealousy in these years? She was disappointed. She looked away before tears ran down her eyes. "you are jealous!!" she pointed out. He bit his lips.
"but I love you.." he said parking his car. Their eyes met for brief second. "and I love you too!!!" she smiled pulling his cheeks "Ouch!! Nandini! Stop doing that!!" he groaned. "I wont! Did you know how chubby your cheeks? Hey! You know when I first saw you, the first thing I wanted to do was pull your cheeks!!" nandini giggled at his horrified expression. Rubbing his cheeks he gulped.
Nandini's eyes fell on a small treasure box that was kept at the back seat. She looked at it shocked. "How did it come here??" she asked still in a state of shock.
Getting out the car he handed her the box.
"I found it in store-room! Memories should be treasured not thrown away!"
Nandini frowned "some memories better not remembered!"
"c'mon face it. Open it na.. I am curious!!!" he said biting his lips.
"you didn't see it?" she asked surprised. he shook his head, "I wanted to see it with you.. I wanted to see the depth of your love for him!" he mocked. Nandini winced. "Stop saying that again and again!! Uggh!!! Why did I even marry you in first place?"
He moved closer to her because "may be because I am your knight in shining armour?" nandini laughed at that.
Taking a deep breath she said "alright! This box has nothing but a sketch book" she said opening the box. "where you sketched your whole love' life!" he completed. Nandini ignored his words even though that was true.
She handed him the small sketch book "Open it.." she said with a smile. He was never this curious! His eyes conveyed it all. With trembeling hands he opened it.
Chahun Mein.. Ya naa?' was written in the first page. He opened the next.
"A little girl sitting alone on the beach.." she started as he stared at the sketch and turned the page.
"a Little boy pulling a little girl's hair.."
He looked at her shocked. Nandini asked him to continue as she described her sketches.
"Little girl pouring water on little boys head!" nandini giggled. As he turned the next page she continued, "Little girl and Little boy sitting together in the beach as the tides play with them.."
He looked up to meet her eyes, nandini once again asked him to continue. He turned the next page. There were series of tiny sketches of different events where the girl and the boy played pranks on each other.
He turned the next page with trembling hands.
"Little boy kisses little girl on her cheeks"
In the next page, "little girl blushes when the boy looks away"
He clutched the sketch book tightly to hold back the emotions that were brewing inside him. Why was he always oblivious to this? He thought.
"Little boy is gone.. Little girl is alone.. she misses him sitting alone on the beach.."
Nandini continued as he turned the next page "Little girl reads the goodbye message little boy had drew on the rocks.Parting is a sweet sorrow, that I shall say goodnight till it be morrow..'"
He gulped staring at the teary eyed girl reading the message. All the curiosity went down the drain, he didn't want to see anything anymore!
The next page was blank. He looked up to meet her eyes. "years later.." she said. He turned the next page.
"The little girl is now grown up.. she is now the artist.. a girl living in her own world.."
He smiled at the picture of a girl with long skirt, long sleeved top and scarf rapped around her neck. She had a pencil in her hand and a sketch book in her lap. She was dreaming about something. Typical nandini! He thought.
He turned the next page, nandini continued with a smile "Girl staring at her crush, amidst those thousand students only one boy took her breath away! he did nothing but laugh heartily.." nandini giggled as he hurriedly moved towards the next page.
"girl standing with a plate in the food counter.. but her eyes was staring at someone.. The one and only crush of hers who was serving food in the opposite counter.."
Nandini continued as he changed the next page there was a folded paper. He opened the paper to find an old sketch. A girl was walking beside the lake hand in hand with an unknown face. He looked closer it was though she had drawn the face but erased it later. Confusedly he glanced at the next sketch. "Girl looking at boy, who resembled to the boy who had come in her dreams.."
He turned the next page.. "Girl stands infront of her crush for the first time; her friend introduces them to each other. Her cloths dirty, she was embarrassed and he was arrogant!"
He chuckled slightly and turned the next page. "The girl decorates the room for competition with a beautiful rangoli at the entrance.. to impress her crush and save him from scoldings.."
He turned the next page with pursed lips. This time nandini giggle loudly and shuffled his hair. He turned the next page. "The girl sees her crush appreciating her friend instead of her! she steps back spoiling the rangoli of a contestant" nandini frowned recalling the incident.
Next page, "while the girl sat down to rectify her mistake, her crush yells at her. she helps the contestant nevertheless!"
He turned to next page "Girl smiled at her friends and specifically smiles at her crush proudly while he is left in a shock state!"
"do you know why ?" nandini asks him. He looked at he crossly. Laughing nandini answered "because I am the greatest rangoli artist ever!" nandini says about herself with proud. He laughs at her mockingly "don't be too proud of yourself!!" he said. Nandini laughed further.
Next page, "Girl does a beautiful drawing of Radha-krishna-Rukmini and her crush is certainly impressed!!" nandini has a huge smile in her lips now. He turns the page faster.
Nandini frowned at the sketch, "Girl sees her crush hugging her best friend inside a classroom.."
Their eyes met, nandini looked away. he pulled her close to him side hugging her and placing a kiss on top of her head.
In the next page "girl wants to see the glimpse of her crush, she comes early to college to see him walk inside the campus. She stands in a bus-stand near to his house just so she can get another glimpse of him!"
Nandini bit her lip when his grip tightened around her shoulders "you are crazy!" he commented. Nandini asked him to continue.
"girl is alone, he hates her.. she cries first.. she gets used to it later.. she likes him anyway.. and 2 years pass by.."
He turned the next page, "Girl is sitting in the research wing of her college and wondering something when she sees her oldest and bestest friend! she hugs him!"
"they talk for sometime, while she curses for a particular person."
He chuckled seeing the expression of nandini in the sketch.
"and that particular person argues with her! and she decides she hates him!"
Next page "Rakhi day.." nandini's voice cracks. He holds her tight.
"everyone is celebrating rakhi.. Nandini and that Mr.Particular have a small comfortable walk around the campus! She blushes, they tease each other and they laugh.. they don't argue for the first time"
In the next page, "Girl and her crush are in the same lift, but the girl walks out of the lift without glancing at him. As if it's a pay back!"
"But the Rakhi day turns out to be the worst nightmare for her!"
"her crush asks her to tie rakhi to him.. she is devastated and hurt. She runs away.."
In the next sketch "she is sitting alone in the bus and crying..her crush has hurt her very badly.."
He turns the next page faster "her old and best friend consoles her and she tells him whole story.."
A tear drop slips from her eyes as the memories of that day come back. She could still his loud voice yelling at her. she will never be able to forget it! Never..
"her crush yells at her infront of whole college. She is hurt more than ever. She is broken completely. She sits on the bench when its raining heavily.. she goes back home absent mindedly and then she falls sick for being so careless!"
He hugged her tightly wiping off her tears.
In the next page "she learns that Mr.Particular is none other than the same little boy who had left her in young age.."
Their eyes met, nandini has tears in her eyes now.
"Girl feels betrayed from everyone! She wants to run away but then sees few kids stuck in the building which was catching fire.."
"she saves them and then she goes save her crush and her best friends.."
"even though her crush is rude to her, she saves them nevertheless.. but she is injured. And she knows she wont survive long.."
"for the first time her crush doesn't hate her anymore! He is concerned about her injuries.."
He holds her close, nandini describes the next sketches with a smile on her face..
"for the first time he chooses her before her best friend! for the first time he wants to save her first.. for the first time he holds out his hand to her.."
"she is happy.. and she doesn't want anything more.."
"she sends her best friend to him, and she is ready to sacrifise her life inorder to save the kid who is stuck between the bricks.."
With trembling hands he turns the next page. Nandini takes the book from his hands "shall i?" she asked. He agreed.
"girl realises, she wasn't just a girl instead she is a Juliet.. and her romeo is waiting for her.."
He wasn't looking at the book anymore.. he was staring at her.. deep into her eyes..
"she thinks she wont survive so she sends the last text message to her romeo.."
Nandini continued turning the page and showing him the sketch.. "then came the ray of light.. even though she knew she may not survive, but she wanted to! She wanted a prince to come and save her.. she wanted to live.. and that's what happened. Her knight in shining armour came to her rescue!" nandini said dramatically. He chuckled hugging her.
"And then she found her true love in him.. the man who saved her.. the man who made a wish to live with her.. she came back to him fighting with death.. and they live happily ever after!" Nandini said..
"Girl! Did you know you drive me crazy?" nandini laughed. The book fell to the ground.. it wasn't needed anymore.
Behind him stood her college. Her engineering college. The college that changed her life. At the entrance stood a figure that had once ruled her heart.
"Yash..!" she breathed.
Walking towards him with a smile on her face and few crushed paper on her fist she asked him "how have you been?"
He smiled at her "I am good! Congratulations! Heard you got married last year.." he said.
"congrats to you too.. you got engaged last month!" nandini smiling at kriti who was standing in the far corner along with abhi and meghana.
"how did you-?" he was surprised she knew about them.
"I am not in contact with you that doesn't mean I don't stalk you know.. I still stalk you like before!" she joked. He laughed at that.
"just kidding.. one of our common friend told me last week!" she smiled.
"Gosh! I still cant believe we are actually talking to each other!"
Nandini nodded "I know right! I don't know what to feel anymore!! I was so Addicted to you!!" she laughed. But he looked at her seriously.
She understood his question without him saying a word "hey hey! No no.. I love him.. My Adhish! One and only.. I don't have any feelings for you okay? But yes.. you shall be always special to me.. and fortunately I cant change that!!!" nandini chuckled.
"hey.. sometimes I wonder how would it be if you actually liked me back? Haha! I wouldn't have found my true love then.. Thank God You didn't like me!!"
Yash looked at her wanting to say something, nandini knew him too well.
"I am glad that you helped him.." she said taking him by surprise. "what help?" he asked consciously.
"if it wasn't for you, he wouldn't have found me that night! I know its you who guided him to him.. I know its you who was behind him that night when he saved me!"
She didn't let yash utter a word, "yash.. you shall always be my prince charming, but he is my knight in shining armour! And I love only him. Sorry if I ever hurted you.. it was never my intention.." she gave him a handshake and left.
She wasn't ready to hear a word from him. That's why she didn't hear his inaudible voice that said I did like you..a lot more than you will ever know!'
She met kriti abhi and meghana before going back to adhish.
Kriti stared as Adhish and nandini walked towards the parking lot hand in hand. It started raining. Yash was waiting for her. while kriti walked towards she knew one thing. Nandini had become something more to yash than she could ever imagined! But she loved him, and he loved her too.
As they all part ways the piece of paper torn from the sketch book wash away with the rain..
In the sketch there is nandini who is in coma in the hospital bed and yash is kissing her hand while adhish is making a wish outside her room and kriti who was standing outside the witnessing everything..
And there were few words written at the end,
Love is an Addiction,
Should I or should not fall in love?
Chahuan mein ya na..
Nandini had chosen her soulmate, and he shall remain forever.

first of all A HUGE THANK YOU 🤗
to everyone who liked, who reviewed and who have/had kept this story in 'waiting list' [ i am still waiting for few readers to unres their post! 😳]
this story started off as my frustration to my own crush 🤣 and then i shaped it into something else.. and the outcome is something else.. trust me my friends are going to read this and i bet they are going to ROFL after chapter 9..
anyways, this SS is going to be my dear baby.. and frankly me sad that it ended so soon! and as everyone say, Good things come to end.. and lets assume the end of this story may be beginning of another. 😊

what you must all know is that what nandini feels for Yash and Adhish is two different things. she cannot, she can never feel the same with two. its different, its special. and both of them have their own special place in her heart. Its really not in her hands to decide who shall remain in her heart and who shall go away. now is that possible? all she can do is, salute her destiny for giving her wonderful life partner and thank her stars for letting her feel 'love' 'like' and 'crush!'
with that said, let us all bid adieus to my baby..
