Chapter 12Rey closed his eyes in pain, he knew this question would arise. He pleaded, " Give me one more chance, Taani."
" NO " she screamed at him and walked off.
" So this the principle of economics..."
She was just breathing, but she wasn't alive. Alive. It felt an alien word to her, since that incident. She never knew what ' Love always hurts ' meant until now. She felt like a knife stabbed into her heart when she had seen Rey being inhuman to her. Without her mistake, she was being subjected to great pain. Unbearable, indeed. After all this, Rey wants her to forget everything and forgive her. Was that even possible? And even if it was, She just couldn't. No matter how hard she tried to, she just couldn't erase the bitter memories. She couldn't make this pain go away even after his repeated apologies. She just couldn't believe him again. Trust was broken, and as they say Trust is like a paper. It needs to be handled with great care because once crumbled, it can never be the same again. NEVER.
The teacher continued, till He saw Taani lost in a pool of thoughts. He ignored it for sometime till he realized she wasn't coming back.
He said, " Ms Taani Shekhawat. What are you thinking about? Care to share it with us? "
That definitely made Taani come out, and look up to her teacher. She furthermore realized what was happening. She blinked for few seconds before replying," Sorry, sir."
Rey looked over to her, and he could clearly see her lost. He wanted to bring her back, shove her to reality, apologize to her, but that's what life is. You never get what you want. Sighing melancholy, He heard the bell ringing marking the end of the period.
" Taani, I want to talk to you. Come." Said the teacher.
' Why is everyone after my life? ' She thought. She nodded, and moved outside. As she moved, she saw concern over Rey's face. Confused at why was he now showing his concern when the time had passed, she walked past.
" Taani, are you okay? " The teacher asked owing to the fact that her grades were going down.
" Sir, yes I am. But why did you ask? " She asked curiously. Did he know about what had happened?
" Taani, I'm concerned about you. You're one of my remarkable students. But, you're grades are going down. Moreover, you are pale and anorexic. You can share with me what's wrong, if that's okay with you." He said expressing his genuine concern.
Her eyes were moist for she had experienced affection and care after a long time. She wasn't sure if telling his teacher about her problem was okay. Problems.
" Its hard to tell what's wrong when everything is falling apart, sir. But, I promise I will not let my personal matter affect my academics. Thank you so much fro your concern, sir." Taani said overwhelmingly.
" I hope that happens. If you need me, I'll always be there for you. " He replied. He gave her a smile and left.
The words ringed in her head. ' I'll always be there for you '. Memories flashed in her head when Rey and Swayam and her friends had said exactly the same thing. Wounds which should've healed, now were left open yet again by just one mere sentence.
LIAR. LIARS everywhere. Her head screamed owing to the rejections she had faced. Her eyes were moist, but she didn't care. It was nothing compared to her life which sucked most of the times except.. When she was with Rey. Life was good, when they were together as one. She was happy. He was happy. Everything was merry until. She shut her eyes close, refusing the horrible memory to take over.
But now she was, numb as anything. Will it ever heal? Her heart wondered and pleaded to God that the answer was in affirmative.
Even God smirked seeing her, for he knew that it would. Her heart would heal. Wounds will be sewed. Pain will go. Love will blossom again.
Patience, he would advise her.
" I tried that. Now please keep your mouth shut for its of no use. " Rey yelled at Vicky.
" Why are you yelling at me? I was just advising." He retorted back surprised that he had already tried it. 'Here I'm trying to help, and they are not ready to even listen to me ! ' Tragedy of life, he smiled.
" Advises which are of no use ! " Rey hissed.
Vicky rolled his eyes, and banged his hand on the table in frustration. His head, which he supposed and firmly believed that it existed much to Rey's refusal, was working hard to find an idea to woo Taani.
' Wooing Taani is like a human trying to fly. Both are Impossible.' His head nodded at the sudden realization. God, why is life so complicated?
" IDEAA ! " He screamed again.
" No wayyy." The whole gang replied in unison hoping that he would somehow shut up.
" Listen na. " He pleaded.
" Fine, shoot ! " Swayam said giving up.
" Let's kidnap Taani ! " He said happily.
Rey's first thought after listening to Vicky's futile suggestion was ' Now let me bang my head into a wall. Why does he even believe he has a brain? '
The gang looked at him as if they were ready to shoot daggers and swords and bullets at him. Vicky, however did not give up. He continued, " Wait, and listen to the whole idea. Let's kidnap Taani, and. Rey will save her like a hero. She will then realize that He loves her, and BOOM we have a happy ending ! "
" Vicky, do you have a gun? " Rey asked innocently.
Confused, Vicky said," Why? At this crucial point of time, you want to kill yourself? Are you mad? Wait.. Are you planning to kill Taani? If yes, then let me tell you that ain't going to happen. I won't let that happen. "
" Because I want to kill you ! For God's sake, Vicky SHUT.UP." Rey said angrily. Everyone agreed. Vicky kept quite much to everyone's happiness.
" Fine ! " He yelled back, sad over the fact that his superb ideas which he thought was, were turned down so cruelly, and brutally. Only in his perception, though.
" Can we stop wondering and pondering over stupid and unimportant stuff and try to focus on Dance? " Came a firm voice from behind. Taani yelled at them, with anger in her voice. Her mood wasn't nice, everyone guessed.
" Yeah, sure." Swayam replied a bit scared of his baby sister's anger.
" Better." Taani hissed back.
Upset over the flashback of memories she had got in the morning, she was totally not in the mood of bearing some crap. Period. Moreover, she had to prepare two dances with the gang much to her frustration.
" What are we doing this time? " She asked calming her nerves.
" We haven't decided yet." Vicky said.
" What? A week is left, and what we have is nothing. Great. " She said sarcastically.
" We will decide something fast, Taani. " Sharon said.
" Oh, yeah? When? When the time is over? Well, that's what you all are good at doing. Doing the stuff after the time has passed ! " Taani retorted back, referring to their late apology.
Everyone gave a what-should-we-do-now look to each other. Rey gave a I'll-Try-To-Handle-This-Situation look.
" Actually, we have. The group dance will be hip-hop with some freestyle moves and ours dance will be contemporary with salsa moves. Well, Taani you know, Its never late to do the right thing. And we make sure, we do that. " Rey gave just the right answer.
Taani knew she would have to accept her defeat, but she was never the-give-up types.
" Oh, yeah? The right thing? Well, you specifically believe doing the wrong one first, and then amending by a damn apology. Great going, Rey ! " Taani spat out.
Rey was bewildered by her answer, and so was the rest of the gang. What she said was true, but what surprised them the most was the intensity and the amount of hurt they had given her. She was the girl who wouldn't fall apart at all. But today, she did which clearly means she was going through immense pain.
Obviously she would, when her own Boyfriend whom she loved and cherished did not believe her but a scoundrel. Not only her boyfriend, but her brother, her own blood. On top of that, her friends as well. Not only that, they behaved inhumanly with her without her mistake. She was bound to get hurt.
No one could understand her pain, until they put themselves in her shoes. However, neither could any one understand how guilty they all were.
To lighten the atmosphere, Sharon said," So let's get started. "
Taani nodded, and started warming up. She knew she would have to be with them till this dance event gets over. No other option. But she wouldn't talk to them much, she swore. They would have to realize what they had done. As for Rey, she didn't know if things could get back to normal. She silently hoped they would.

" We were supposed to practice today. But Rey.. Where is he, dammit? " Taani yelled in anger upset over the fact that Rey hadn't turned up for this practice. Much to her frustration, no one knew about his whereabouts.
Suddenly her phone rang. Unknown Number, It flashed.
She picked up with utmost reluctance. And, there she received the biggest shock and heartbreak of her life.
" Ms Taani Gupta, Mr Reyaansh Singhania has met with an accident. And-"
