"physiotherapist? Come to think of it...i had seen her limping a bit that day in cafe... is it because of the accident?", he asked very thoughtfully.

"umm..you can say its partly due to accident and party due to her head injury. She had got a problem in muscle coordination...like her mind sometimes refuses to obey her command...the doctor said she will be alright soon enough but how soon...i just don't know!"

He sat there still...she is suffering in the toughest way! He realized her condition is much worse that what he had gone through all these days. No wonder she never recognised him that night...he didn't know whether to feel happy for her life or feel sad about her condition. he just wanted to see her once and convince himself that she was alright.

Nisha served him lunch and went to get some stuffs from kitchen.

"Chachi... you are not going to eat?", he asked waiting for her on the dining table.

Curious, he left his food and stood by the kitchen counter, watching her make something, "ye kya bana rahin hain aap?"

[what are you cooking?]

Nisha smiled as she tasted a teaspoon of the porridge she was making, "umm... its nice. Madam will be coming back now...uska lunch!"

He was surprised to see her making a bland porridge but with lots of vegetables, "she eats this without a complaint?? I know she doesn't like bland food..."

Nisha smiled and pulled his cheeks lovingly, "abhi tum ussey mile nahi ho bachu... she is a very different person altogether. aur waise bhi usi ke health ke liye doc ne mana kiya hain zyada oily ya spicy khane se..."

[you haven't met her yet bachu... she is a very different person altogether. and the doctor has also asked her to stay away from oily and spicy food...]

He was too surprised... he didn't know what would he even say when he sees her...or how will she react on seeing him again...will she even recognise him? his Geet had changed...yes and he had to prepare himself for the inevitable. As far as his knowledge was concerned, his jaan was like a small little girl who has forgotten stuffs...and he guessed he might just have to slowly remind her things. that was it.

"maan khana kha le beta..thanda ho jayega...", nisha called out to him.

[maan have your food beta...it will turn cold]

He brought his plate and kept it near nisha, "aaj mein Geet ke saath khana khaunga Chachi..."

[I will have my food with Geet today...]

Nisha looked at him in awe...she didn't know what to think of him. Geet had been so rude to him yet he holds no grudges against her...and here he was actually waiting for her...excited like a baby. Any guy would never want to see the face of such a girl who had broken him to limits but here he was...the maan singh khurana..who dominated the world ..now sat on the couch, looking at the time from time to time waiting for his beloved. She felt the corners of her eyes burn... her Geet was lucky to have someone like maan in her life. she wiped her tears and went to see what he was doing and found him roaming around the house. a wheelchair kept at one corner of the room caught his attention. He was a little unsure about it and looked around for nisha.

She kind of guessed what he might be thinking. She was right beside him with the answer, "Geet ke hain... she has just stopped using them just a while ago..."

She saw him run his finger over that cold metal..probably trying to imagine how his rough and tough jaan must be using it. she felt lighter today... she had been in guilt for hiding things from maan...see him break down for a fake news...and suffer so much.. but she couldn't have helped it either.

His heart ached to realize how his Geet would have survived all these days...she can't walk properly...can't read and write... can't distinguish between left and right and what not... how he wished it was as easy to run and hug her tightly and whisper in her ears that it was going to be alright...how he wished it was this easy!!! The door clicked open and nisha was already near it, attending to her. he held his heart and dared to turn back to see her.

She held Ana's hand as she slowly walked in behind her. her limp was much better now...she was sweating and her face had turned red due to the sun. He just watched her from afar as she walked in taking baby steps... one after another, slowly, tenderly.

"how was your day gudiya?", nisha asked as she slowly helped her in.

"umm...it was nice...", was all she replied.

Geet was about to sit on the couch when her eyes fell on the man standing right in front of her, looking at her so intently. She didn't know who he was...but she felt quite disturbed the way he looked at her. she looked up to his dressing...he was in black formals and she just couldn't relate to him. she twitched her brows trying to recall if she had ever seen him before...but she could remember none. That irked her...the way he looked at her scared her...made her restless and she couldn't even breathe. She grew restless as she held nisha's hands tightly and tried to hide behind her.

He was just awestruck by her... he had seen her the previous day but he was seeing her properly right now... her hair had grown...much longer than how it had been previously... she looked thinner and her face looked even fairer. She walked like a baby and her almond eyes just looked even more beautiful than ever...they had no coldness in them...no rage and no fire like she always had...and he just couldn't move. They held him firm and stuck to the ground. But her reactions pained him...hadn't she seen him the day before? She would remember right??? he inched closer and tried to hold her hand that held nisha's hands,"Geet...", he called out softly.

Before he could even touch her, she moved her hands away flinching back and hiding more behind nisha. he looked at her painfully...she doesn't remember a thing...not even their encounter the previous day.

Nisha expected that but she felt sad seeing maan's face... you love someone and that person doesn't even recognise you...how worse could it get? Doesn't remember the most beautiful moments with you and those memories just become only yours alone, confined to your mind. she sighed and held Geet's hand, "Geet...dar mat beta...ye tho maan hain!!!", she spoke cutely.

[Geet...don't get scared beta... he is maan!]

Geet looked at nisha who slowly brought her to the front and held her close. Geet tried hard to remember if she had ever heard this name before but her confused face just gave her situation away. It was tougher than what he had expected! He had prepared himself for the inevitable but he didn't know it would hurt so much!!!

"Geet... speak to him... he is a friend beta...", nisha tried to convince her, "he is not going to hurt anyone..."

Geet looked at him for a while... this was the first time she was actually interacting with a guy apart from her doctor. Even her physiotherapist was a girl! she had been surrounded by nisha, Ana and Sasha all this while..she felt it all so strange... to interact with the other gender. She didn't know what to do now... he waited for her to speak anything but she didn't know what to do. She couldn't even remember how she had known him from the past so she actually didn't know how to speak to him as well.

Nisha was surprised to see Geet a little stubborn today...usually she never is but today she was probably in a fix. Just to give her a push, she spoke a little louder, "Geet... go and talk to maan..."

She jumped with her voice and slowly took a step ahead, looking everywhere but him, "hi... i...i am Geet...", she spoke hesitantly.

Maan smiled seeing her cutely struggle with herself as he forwarded his hand for a shake, "hii...i am maan..."

Nisha smiled at the two little kids meeting for the first time, "okay you two talk..i will just get your lunch...'

She walked away leaving the duo alone and went to get their lunch. They stood there silently wondering what to speak next with his hand still in the air. Geet looked at his smiling face and then at his hand. She slowly placed her hand over his as he shook them softly. He knew he just can't rush things...she doesn't remember things and nisha said they just shouldn't pressurize her to recall things. he has to go slow...but he was more than happy to see her all safe and sound. Her skin felt so soft...he was actually touching her after ages, "lets sit and talk...", he insisted.

"umm...", she nodded as both of them sat down on the same couch but far away from each other...one because he wanted her to accept him first and the other because she was interacting with him for the first time.

He noticed her a little quiet...and her sitting position made him smile. normally Geet handa would sit like a queen, flaunting her power...a strong aura oozed out of her but this cute little Geet sat all cuddled up to one corner, just like a sweet innocent girl...well she was a sweet innocent girl as of now!!!

Nisha served them lunch and went to check on Ana who was going bonkers about how maan came to know this place. Anyways Geet needed to know him and remember him as well.

"so..how are you?", he asked taking a bite of his parantha while she just stirred her porridge, wondering where this conversation was heading to.

"I am better now...", she thought something and then turned to look at him, "I am sorry but I am not able to remember you... have we met before?"

His smile just vanished with her question...his jaan sat before him and doesn't remember a thing about him or even them!!! it was tough... very tough... but he just can't go and tell her everything all at once... as much as he loved her innocence, he hated this sudden huge ocean between them! he gulped down the lump in his throat and spoke up, "yes we have..."

His one sentence seemed to lighten up her face...at least she could remember things ever more quickly from now on. she wanted to remember everything asap but the doctor had told her to go slow and steady. But she wanted to know what had happened in her life... she was a little impatient but nisha wouldn't tell her everything..neither would Ana nor Sasha. At last someone was there who could tell her who she was!!!

"really??", her voice seemed happier, "iska matlab hum ek dusre ko jaante hain?"

[so...does that mean we have known each other?]

Her voice made him look at her and he was surprised to see her looking at him with that sweet smile on her face!!! Ohh god...he'd just kill to see that smile on her face... he doesn't care which words of his made her this glad...what mattered the most was that smile. he was seeing on her after so many days...there was not a tinge of Geet handa in her.

She was so impatient to know what he knew about her. upon hearing no reply, she grew restless, "maan... boliye na..."

[maan...tell me na..]

Ohh he was probably dead since long and her calling him this sweetly was actually a balm to his broken heart, mending him slowly.

"we have known each other for quite a few years..."

"how was...", she stopped seeing nisha come. She knew nisha would be a little strict with her especially when it came to stressing her so she didn't want to let her know. So she kept quiet and watched her serve curry and paranthe to maan who seemed to lick his fingers, "Chachi...this is just too good... am having this after such a long time..."

Geet looked at his plate filled with yummy paranthe and curry while her bowl was still filled with the same old porridge. Nisha saw Geet looking at them, "Geet...tujhe kuch chahiye??"

[Geet you want something?]

"um...no...no I am full...", she blurted out, still eyeing that hot parantha that maan was trying to break. Nisha served and left while she just kept on looking at his plate. Nisha was so strict about her diet...just like the doctor said, she followed her diet chart step by step and when nisha wasn't there, Sasha would be strict with her. her mouth watered seeing that ghee dripping parantha vanishing into his tummy one by one. she sighed and looked at her half eaten porridge which looked even more bland to her and her eyes went back to the last parantha that was left on his plate and he was ready to finish that!

"kitna khate hain...mote kahinke...", she cursed him under her breath getting j.

[how much he eats... fatso...]

He stopped and looked at her curiously, "tumne kuch kaha Geet??"

[ did you say something Geet?]

"umm..nahi tho...kuch bhi nahin...", she spoke still eyeing his plate.

[umm..no...nothing..]

"u called me fat in your mind right??", he narrowed his brows on her, catching her off guard.

"aap mind padh lete hain??", she jumped and blurted out surprised to see he knew it all.

[you can read mind?]

He couldn't believe this was his Geet...no ways she was Geet...she couldn't be that dumb..could she??

"its pretty obvious when you speak loud enough for me to hear...", he said, rolling his eyes.

She immediately looked down, embarrassed and tried to cover up, "umm..no no its not like that... I didn't call you..."

Before she could even continue he forwarded his plate to her, "lo kha lo... "

[here...eat it...]

She looked at him from the corner of her eyes...wondering how he knew this about her too!!! Did he do some magic or what?? She looked at the plate forwarded to her and then at him who was all in smiles.

"na...nahi...its ok..", she tried to cover it up. She was definitely not going to get embarrassed again right now. He could do nothing but smile at his silly Geet and realized she was embarrassed. He sighed and passed the plate closer, "Geet...this parantha is dying to be eaten by you... if I eat it up, its going to give me nothing but stomach ache... kha lo..."

Any sane person would understand his indication to her in an indirect way but this was Geet handa after all. She looked at him cutely, "really...can i? If Chachi sees, she is going to scold me..."

He shook his head...there was a time when madam would be so naughty to have food from his plate only...especially when they were at their farmhouse but now...uff!!!

"arrey she won't know... have it...its tasty."

"umm.. ok...", she kept the porridge aside and used her fingers to break the parantha. He was all in smile and watched her intently as she used both her hands to eat the parantha. He was amused to see her struggling with even breaking the parantha...forget dipping it in the curry and realized what nisha meant. Her bowl had a big spoon that she used for eating and he just got the hint of her disturbed cognitive skills. Her fingers were smeared with the gravy and ghee and she was finding it difficult to do different things simultaneously. He sighed and kept the plate on the couch.

"get your spoon..."

"ehh??"

"Geet...get your spoon..."

"why??", she asked innocently, "you eat this with your hands right..."

"yes you do..but since you are having troubles, let me help you..."

"umm...here..", she immediately picked up the spoon and licked off the porridge sticking to it and forwarded it to him. he broke the parantha dipped it in the curry and place it on her spoon, "now eat..."

Ohh she was just too happy. Her face brightened with a wide smile as she took in the whole bite into her mouth. The burst of spices was almost mind boggling for her...just too good.

He watched her lovingly as she relished the bite but his eyes fell on the way she was holding the spoon. Usually people use three fingers to hold a spoon but she held it within her fist using all the 5 fingers just like little kids learning to use spoons. He realised she just looked okay on the face of it... but she isn't! This was worse than he had expected.

"one more bite...", she forwarded the spoon and he did the same as he did earlier. she slowly finished the entire parantha as he helped her with it.

"come on..lets wash our hands...", he stood up, waiting for her.

"okay..."

They slowly walked towards the wash basin when Ana just crossed him while going to kitchen!! He was instantly reminded of her being with Geet just the previous day and stopped, "Geet you go first..."

She washed her hands while he looked at Ana and smirked, "do you want to say anything about that act of yours yesterday?"
Ana closed her eyes and dipped her head...this man was not going to spare her now!!! She slowly turned towards him and looked down.

"am waiting miss antara handa..."

That look on his face was that of a devil...she knew it!! her sister has got the right person she thought--- birds of same feather flock together!

"sigh... di was scared...she had started crying.. I didn't know what to do...so... thought it wiser to..."

"take her away!", he completed her sentence, "anything else??", he arched his brows.

"..and I should have spoken to you...", she spoke accepting defeat.

"and..."

"...and..that I am sorry..."

Maan smiled and caressed her head with the other hand, "thats like a good girl..."

Geet just watched them wondering how did they know each other or what they were talking about. He washed his hands when his phone rang. It flashed adi and he just hit his head, "ohh fish... meeting..."

Geet wondered why he said fish when there was no fish anywhere at all!! Before she could ask him, he just rushed out, waving a bye to her nisha and Ana.

"maan... come tomorrow as well...", nisha spoke.

"umm... I am travelling tomorrow ... I will come in the evening... "

She watched everyone getting so cordial with maan and wondered why doesn't she remember him when everyone knows him so well! she retired to her room and sat on her study table. She put on her ear plugs of her ipod listening to music"her favourite pass time as of now and thought harder!!!
