Reliving IPK

Episode 116

Devi Maiya ki marzi.

It was over. He stares emptily at the file folder in his hands. She was gone.

A key ... Did she leave it ? Is this another hold over him ... Enraged, he picks it up, ready to fling it across the pool ... A forgotten memory jolts awake, grabbing his hand ...

The Mazar at Lucknow ... It is his key ... She had rushed after him, her white Duppatta held around her face ... Zara suniyay, aap ki Mannat ki chabbi ... He had been shocked to see her ... He had known then, the jasmine infused white duppata that had stayed his path, that had held him captive for a unforgettable moment, flowing across his face ... It had been hers. His Mannat ki chabbi ? He had shrugged disdainfully, and told her to throw it away.

She had not thrown it. She had kept it ... for months ... just as he had her pearls, her Payal. And now she had returned it to him. This is what she what she had come here to do and he had snapped so viciously ... This truly was the end ... She too was cutting him out for her life ... He sees blood on the table and remembers his push ... Khushi ... He mouths, his voice a pained whisper, his hand fisting possessively over their shared talisman.

She is at the temple, vowing never to think of him again, praying to Devi Maiya for her loving benevolence. She should know by now, her prayers are answered instantly. She feels the breeze ... A harbinger of his presence ... His SUV speeds in, parking in rushed carelessness ... He strides up the temple stair. The Devi's Duppatas flutter around him in festive approval. He may not believe in the Devi, but he doesn't need to ... He just has to follow his heart ... And his heart will not let him stray too far away from her.

She stands before him, not five feet from him, completely unaware of his presence, battling the breeze and her stubbornly clinging duppata ... Finally, she frees herself and lifts her eyes to stare directly at his face ... Her Devi has answered her prayers ... He removes his aviators to look at her. Their eyes gaze as if it has been ages since they last saw each other ... All the bitterness of the last meeting vaporizes instantly, for that one endless moment ...

Not an hour has passed since the time she left his home, since they both had stoically proclaimed, Tumsay baat nahin karni hai, tumhari shakal nahin dekhni hai ...

And yet they are here, in front of each other, in a temple. Try as they may, they cannot fight the hand of destiny. The stage is being set. The stars are lining up, one by one, in a precise, rehearsed formation. Each, sure of its part, each, hushfully vigilant. They stand, ready to perform, in silent, pre-concert like nervous anticipation ... The auspicious moment fast approaching ...

He steps up to her. Khushi, he says. An everyday casualness coats his voice, as though all that had transpired an hour ago did not happen. He should know by now, she will not make it easy. She walks past him, only to stopped by the arrogant urgency in his tone. His back to her, his head turned sideways to address her, he enunciates rapidly, Khushi, mein tumsay baat kar raha hoon, tum asay nahi ja sakati ...

She turns to him. His back is still to her. He needs to hear some hard truths. Kuon nahi ja saktay? she contests, childlike. Her life, her decisions ! She can do what ever she pleases ... And moreover, she no longer works for him, so he has no haq to "arder" her around ... Her voice rising, her eyes blinking rapidly with each bravely issued throw down.

He turns to face her, her courage dips a tad, before rising again to face him. His eyes flash her the warning that he hides behind the brief grit of his teeth ... Don't talk to me like that ... He gashes through his teeth, his temper on a slow sure boil ... She throws all caution to wind and juts her chin out, Kuon ? Kya kar lagay aap ? And turns to leave.

He doesn't wait a millisecond to tell her what he can do ... He grabs her by her shoulders and pulls her within inches of him, his body towering over hers, his head bowed into her tilted face. She struggles to free herself ... There are people watching ...Yeh kya kar rahay hai aap, Choidiya humay ... She gasps at his audacity ...

He takes his time, waiting for her to calm down, then releases her shoulder. She steps back. He slide his hand down her arm to her injured hand wrapped in her duppata end. She filches it away, the moment she realizes his intent. He gently clasps her wrist, slowly bringing it up and slowly frees her hand of it temporary binding. An inch long bloody gash slanted across her ring finger ...

He looks at it, Tumhay ... his voice pebbled with emotion ... He looks up at her, Tumhay choat lagi hai, he states the blatantly obvious, his tone brisk, matter of fact ... What choat is he talking about ? Either way, she is not impressed with his medical diagnosis. She yanks her hand free and steps back further, Toh ? Aapsay matlab? Stop fussing, he admonishes. Tamash mat karo, he accuses. Tamasha ? He is the one doing all the Tamasha, she lashes back. He grabs her wrist and warns her with his eyes ...

She continues to struggle, until he takes out his handkerchief, and softly dabs the gash. She hisses in pain, he looks at her, his eyes softening, and just like that, in an instance, they both fall into place, their paths, that were on different trajectories, once again prepare to meet ... To merge ... to intersect ... to knot together ...

For the second time, at the stroke of an appointed, auspicious hour, amidst tolling temple bells ... amidst auspicious trumpeting sounds of the conch ... amidst spiritual chants, with divine blessing fluttering in the air, they pledge their unbreakable bond. The knot that was tied at Teej, is strengthened some more, the vows reaffirmed ... Their timing propitious ...

He had come prepared. He unfurls a white gauzy bandage and begins to wrap it around her injured finger. The chanting in the temple intensifies ... The bells chime in a rising crescendo with each turn ... This is no ordinary event ... The evening sun dips low in the sky ... to meet the rising moon ... The connotation of the moment is lost on neither ... the believer, nor the godless.

She stands still, her bewildered eyes scanning his face, yet knows what this means. They are being bound, by the promise of his actions ... He is placing his claim on her ... They are being blessed by the divinity that surround them.

He stands, his head lowered, carefully working the bandage around her finger, completely aware of the solemnity of his actions ... He knows what he does, with each wrap, he ensures she is his and his alone, multiple redundancies built into his bandage. Over and over and over he wraps, safeguarding his claim on her. No place left for a counter claim ... No room for another to slip in ...

Moments later, she asks him, her voice heavy with confusion ... Aap humsay kya chahatay hai ? He knows not how to word it. He had just told her what he wants of her. Her by his side ... His own, bound to him ... Months later, she will admit, that she was his from this moment on.

He does not ignore the priest, he just doesn't believe in such organized rituals. The irony of their own ritual is not lost on him. He stares after the priest. She is horrifically disapproving of his perceived insult. How can he do this ? He reiterate what she know. He does not believe in god. Battle lines are drawn again. She reminds him, he does not control his destiny, all that he does is because of her Devi Maiya. It is her marzi. And he reminds her, he does exactly what he wants ... Not a thing less ... Not a thing more ...

He had done exactly what he wanted to do ... He has made her his, in spite of all the olds against them, he has bound her to him. Is he flirting with her idea of destiny ? Is he safeguarding her, despite his lofty claims ? Is he challenging her so called destiny ? Now take her away from me if you can ... I have claimed her, she is mine from this moment on ...

And once again, for the umpteenth time, both foolishly reiterate, Tumhari shakal nain dekhni hai ... Tumsay baat nahin karni hai ... The two things they want more than they want anything else ... They turn their backs to each other and move in opposite directions, only to turn and walk side by side, in the same direction, across two ends of the temple plinth. The directions of their paths is aligned, their separation, not a separation really at all. It is bridged by none other than the divinity that is colluding to bring them together ...

EPISODE 116

Khushi's Engagement PART 2

ONE of my favorite epi holding future in it'.

A key which has power to unlock doors and caskets to something hidden secretly physically or spiritually and it is also a solution to a problem. Lets put this key in the lock opening but wait for turning ,twisting [this key Khushi] to open this door named as ASR'..

Shyam's Mahoorat

Mahoorat is done for this manipulative Slouchy Scorpion as auspicious time is done but he is determined to engage with Khushi at any cost.He is puttin babuji through hell "Suhag ki sej paane ke liye arthion ka dar dikhana padta hai," [to get the wedding night bed one must put the fear of the death bed into people.] What an axial with hanging pendulum of sick psych ''

Symbolism and connection:His watch is telling 6 pm approximately.6 circles ,chukarvyue in which Khushi put herself and Arnav brought her out.As Khushi said yes to this Scorpy and weaved this net of circles again Fate is making Arnav to bring her out.She will be engaged to him before this scoundrel.

Arnav and Khushi's Mahoorat [King and Queen]

There he stood behind the window pane with pain delineated on his face just like a spectator watching his life walk away from him .. Arnav back to his dark shell as she is gone, a rose has been muddled and mission is accomplished "his control is back"...and then by the first turn ,A visual, her physical presence [ part of her] in the form of a key makes him atrocious that he still has traces of her ..Arnav grabs the key in rage to throw it out and then his hand stopped in the air with her voice .. "zara suniye!" please listen...

the striking realization that it was the same Key that had the blessings of the DM,he same key that he had told Khushi to throw away..

THIS key [Khushi]was in Khushi's safe shell until NOW when he broke it last night..Khushi has returned it to its rightful Owner ..and just minutes ago what did the owner do.., he threw it[Khushi was thrown out] just like his Dhadkan as she is the key to his heart. The revealing Truth makes him immediately to hold on to it safely in his palm .

This KEY is the bondage in between em and every time when they tried to break this or try to go away from each other...this key appeared and now she doesn't need it and he doesn't need it as they have penetrated in each other way deeper, way deeper than ever. From now on they never be separated in hate/love whatever.Their physical distance have broken this barrier and they both can sense each others miles away and that is coming in the pic when Khushi will be in deep convulsion which getting engaged , his world will be completely under the raging storm till she calms herself down...

Another trace her blood makes him realize that Khushi has been hurt when he pushed her.."khushi" the only word comes out with concerns, tenderness, and with love under his lips but with flickering pains in eyes like he has hurt her indeed...

PONDERING CONNECTED DOTS:EPI 276..."Khushi, I know you forgave me but I would never forgive myself hurting you" during kidnapping phone convo is reflecting here as he wants to say to her after breaking her heart last night this Diwali but it still requires time...more lessons to be learned

Finding that Khushi is hurt, he hurries to release her pains .He drives to the Mandir where Khushi is praying, entrusting her future into her Mother Devimayya's hands.

Khushi"humne unhe unki mannat ki chabi bhi lauta di... bhool se bhi unhe yaad nahin karenge" [I returned his sacred key ,even by mistake I won't remember him...] how cutely she is remembering her LG.

But Deviy Mayya has settled things already in their favor. The moment Khushi walks out of the mandir after feeling safe in her mother's arms She meets with her king, her protector and her guide chosen by Devimayya by herself... Only for her.Piano mingles in for this beautiful and auspicious moment.

Symbolisms and connections
: The Moment Khushi says to DM , I know you have chosen something good for me and Arnav's SUV arrives in , He is the chosen one'..

The duppatta covering her face indicating an adumbrated vision , a confused picture of the situation, her minds will be filled with wrong aspiring thoughts of being pressure for wrong reasons but when she will remove it she will see a clear and true view she will accept Arnav as her true mate ..[ after revelation she will forgive him "kyuonkeh baat aapki hai iss liye agar koi aur hota tou nahin padta..."...then her confession to herself "'kyuon na iss unjane unsune ehsaas ko eik mauqa to do" all the way when he stands besides her during Dadi thingy while talking to Payal...."humnain bhi Arnavji ko khabi aise nahin dekha"...to the very end where she will submit herself to him for eternity.

while in the case of Arnav, the removal of his goggles indicates that he will finally unfasten his seat belt to fasten up with her by revealing his inner most thoughts and fears, he will let her into his world'..A world where his sister does not have any access'[mother's garden is one of em]..

Arnav approaches Khushi with concerns in his eyes, softness in his tone
."Khushi"'..while a hurt Khushi tries to leave.. A Passive Arnav with suppressed urgency tells Khushi ,"khushi, "main tumse baat kar raha hoon, tum aise nahin ja sakti," i am talking to you, you can't walk away."

"[I am talking to you,you can't go like that]...but a emotionally wrought Khushi who has had enough of this roller coaster ride .. She gives a piece of her mind to Arnav ,"kyuon nahi ja sakte'.yeh zindagi humari apni hai ...hum jahan chahain ja sakte hain'aapko humain order daine ka koi haq nahin hai....[Why can't I leave this is my life and I can go anywhere I feel like it] Arnav with gritted teeth,"Don't talk to me like that"....[He never liked when Khushi thinks or talks ill with him] l. ASR's grabs and holds her by force ..Khushi jerks her arm up with bafflement...But is Khushi worried about the pain or protesting that she has been held against her will..NO ... All she is fussing over by surrounding people because of stigma. ASR calms down by her concerns and the gripping hold turns into a gentle touch trailing down her arm making her lose her anger anticipating along with that, He brings up the injured hand exposing the wound

Symbolisms and connections: in future Khushi's integrity or character might get smudged and it will be Arnav who will clear her name .

Connection: Khushi's character was muddled by him first by marrying her forcefully and then later by Dadi & Shyam and Arnav was the one who stood with her all along during force & remarriage

Arnav has the first look at the wound, An anguished voice escapes '."
Tumhain "[you are hurt] [ as he could not believe that he actually had hurt her] by composing himself which only strives to increase Khushi's anger ..Khushi in her bickering,"hann tou aapse matlab"[So why do you bother'...Arnav,"Stop fussing"...".He grabs her hand, begins to wipe the traces of blood from the scratch ...

Loved the ferociousness in his eyes when Khushi says, "Chodiye", it was like I have every bloody right to hold your hands, Dammit ..Don't tell me what I should do !! and also his instantaneous look of concern when she hisses in pain.

Just at the hour of destiny [6:00 o,clock sacred time but on Shyam's watch], with God as witness ,accompanied with Sacred chants along with Manter [god's words], Arnav singh Raizada begins to tie the bandage around Khushi Kumari's Gupta Ring finger effectively wrapping his name with her's...

Hai Dhoop sa Woh Agar tou Woh Chandini raat si hai

This auspicious act is solemnized under the illumination of Sun..The star [the parents ] that is eternal witness to the sacred deed.. It is done at Evening/twilight the hour when Sun and Moon mingles symbolically suggesting that to Arnav as Sun is mingling with Khushi as Moon ..the Temple bells ringing in happiness as if immortalizing the this union of two daunting forces ..Devimayya's Chunri appears flying towards them as if protecting these two star crossed lovers ... and stamping the final seal of approval is the Devimayya's blessing in the form of Aarathi..which her devout child and believer Khushi receives but not atheist Arnav who still has a few more lessons to learn ..

PONDERING CONNECTED DOTS: He will be in Mandir taking Aarathi and doing all willingly by taking off his aviators just for KHushi but he will..

Pause here:Khushi's protector carried bandage in his pocket meaning she is his Khushi, his responsibility and he has right on her to hurt her or to love her.He is the only one who can alleviate her pains and sorrows even if these come from him. During Payesh wedding he does bandage on her wrist as always.

Addled Khushi with his intense looks and care,"humne mana kiya tha na," [I'd said not to.] Being offensive,"aap kya chahte hain humse,"[ what do you want from me?]... Does he have the answer ...?

The eternally bound soul mates have one of their contention again and swearing they will never see each other.. started walking away and out of each other's life under Tu hi bata mere maula spell [ as they fondly imagine ..yeah right right next day she is in his arms ] ..The united hearts[ring finger joined with his heart] continue their journey on parallel route, fully assured for not seeing each other again but forgetting that they are two sides of a coin which remains one and two opposing banks of a river can meet by a bridge and in the case of this parallel route..that bridge will be LOVE !!

They both are walking in the same direction unlike during Diwali meaning their paths are same and in the same direction

Symbolism and connection:ASR putting on his Aviators [googles] hiding his emotions and bluffing while walking away .."fadak nahin padta" but "padta hai" to Khushi because she is leaving by catching that flare in his eyes'..just bootiful..

Nice post. And very nice episode. Particularly the temple scene was shot very well. But three things stood out for me.
  1. Arnav not able to keep himself from touching Khushi - even after what he did on Diwali night. Whether it is angrily near the pool or with passion in front of the temple.
  2. His pleading tone when he says , " Don't talk to me like that " Shows how much he was hurt by Khushi's words about him having no right over her
  3. Last but not the least his exploding anger when she says she will not be around when he realizes Devi Maiyya's role.

Shows he just cannot think of a world without her, without touching her and without any right over her :-)

All the other angry words and actions are for dikhawa only. Only if Khushi could understand this ...

Oh yeah he knew there is something to make him HALT right in Dargha while he didn't feel like removing the Duppatta and that made him peaceful...pure as that was white..

He can't throw the key..can't throw her .Period...that spell has bound them for forever.

He is DM's fav child , an angry one though but she loves him way too much and he will be in front of her with Khushi doing all this..

They always forget the surroundings...tumhare aur mere elawah iss duniya main koi nahin

The auspicious moment fast approaching ...
indeed destiny is laying out the whole show for them and not a single human being of their families is part of it

He steps up to her. Khushi, he says. An everyday casualness coats his voice, as though all that had transpired an hour ago did not happen. He should know by now, she will not make it easy.😆 She walks past him, only to stopped by the arrogant urgency in his tone.

I don't think as a childlike...she has all the valid points...if he doesn't want to see her, talk to her nicely , why bother

The knot that was tied at Teej, is strengthened some more, the vows reaffirmed ... Their timing propitious ...

Marking each other started from Guest house and since then they are crossing each other's paths.Teej , the shunk confirmed him as her man , first phera...water, food...and today their parents are joing them in this knot to make em one...

Indeed😊

She stands still, her bewildered eyes scanning his face, yet knows what this means. They are being bound, by the promise of his actions ... He is placing his claim on her ... They are being blessed by the divinity that surround them.

He stands, his head lowered, carefully working the bandage around her finger, completely aware of the solemnity of his actions ... He knows what he does, with each wrap, he ensures she is his and his alone, multiple redundancies built into his bandage. Over and over and over he wraps, safeguarding his claim on her. No place left for a counter claim ... No room for another to slip in ...

The aupicious moment...6:00 PM was their mahoorat,,,,and Shyam missed it but Khushi didn't

Moments later, she asks him, her voice heavy with confusion ... Aap humsay kya chahatay hai ? He knows not how to word it. He had just told her what he wants of her. Her by his side ... His own, bound to him ... Months later, she will admit, that she was his from this moment on.

Is he safeguarding her, despite his lofty claims ? Is he challenging her so called destiny ? Now take her away from me if you can ... I have claimed her, she is mine from this moment on ...

Love it❤️ this is ASR style...👏

And once again, for the umpteenth time, both foolishly reiterate, Tumhari shakal nain dekhni hai ... Tumsay baat nahin karni hai ... The two things they want more than they want anything else ... They turn their backs to each other and move in opposite directions, only to turn and walk side by side, in the same direction, across two ends of the temple plinth. The directions of their paths is aligned, their separation, not a separation really at all. It is bridged by none other than the divinity that is colluding to bring them together ...

Ipoona😊

Love the last big bold one , indeed he is challenging destiny and writing his destiny here with her...but DM has held his hand to write it...how ironically they both are right here...

Thnx JJKKL...😊

He never resist touching her and she never stopped him either.Whenever Khushi starts creating distance or say ill words about him, his hurt comes out with his bitter words. When she says she will not be around , again DISTANCE...which is creating an anger and that anger will change into FEAR which leads to a beautiful PROMISE...mujhe chod keh nahin jaogi...

Khushi is on her way slowly to grasp his actions and words and it took her a while as his actions and words are the reasons which make her baffled as always...
