Hello!! I'm back!! My exams went... the way exams go hahaha, but what matters is that it's over whee~ Iss khushi main, ek update toh banta hi hai boss (:
Yes Boss: Part 11 "... and that is why Dilshaad Constructions is definitely the way to go," Asad concluded, just as Zoya ended the program. Both of them, as well as Anu and Prasad, looked earnestly at the intimidating Miss Narges K Fakhri, as she slowly leaned forward from her chair, tapping her French-manicured fingernails on the table.
"Asad, main aapko waise bhi pehle se jaanti hoon, since you guys were the ones who designed my house, which was well-done by the way. Designing my house was still a rather small project. But this project is a much larger-scale one... and who's this young lady? I don't recall seeing her before..." Narges finally said, as she pointed at Zoya. Zoya smiled weakly in response, as Asad threw her a look. Zoya pursed her lips as she tried to keep quiet. This Miss Narges turned out to be much tougher to please than it had seemed. And wait... did she just call him Asad?!
"Um, this is Miss Zoya Farooqui. She's new here," Asad replied, trying to keep it as simple as possible. Narges raised her eyebrow at his vague answer, and then shrugged, leaning back into her chair as she did.
"Well Asad, you know that this mall, RK Mall, is being built in honour of my mother, Mrs Rubina K Fakhri. And quite frankly, she wasn't too keen on hiring Dilshaad Constructions, because her friend had recommended that new company in town... What software did you use to convert those drawings anyway?" Narges began to explain gently before changing the subject, just as Zoya caught Asad's crestfallen look. She decided it was time to step in.
"I used AutoCAD, or Automated Computer-Aided Design, a software application for 2D and 3D computer-aided design and drafting. Look Miss Narges, I just want to tell you that this form of presentation was not how Mr Khan had planned it, I kind of sprung it on him. I'm new here, like he said, so I didn't understand how things worked here and did things my own way. So please, I apologize for this and if you could please give Mr Khan and Dilshaad Constructions another chance...?" Zoya burst out, unable to take the anticipation anymore. Narges shifted her gaze to Zoya, her lips lifting at the edges in slight amusement.
"Miss Zoya, like I said, I've worked with you guys before, and knowing how things worked here... I really wasn't sure if this company was going to be able to handle such a big project. But now, after watching this presentation and realizing how far you've come in finally embracing technology, I'm more than happy to give the contract to Dilshaad Constructions. I was going to tell you how impressed I am with the drawings," Narges finally concluded, her face breaking into a warm smile as Zoya's eyes widened. She squealed softly and grabbed Asad's arm in excitement, as Asad continued staring at Narges in shock.
"Miss Narges, I'm very glad that you took this decision. I promise that we will try our best not to leave any scope for disappointment on your part. Miss Mishra, please get the contract papers, they must be with Mr Tripathi," Asad instructed Anu, as he leaned forward and clasped Narges' hand in a firm handshake.
The papers arrived in no time, and Narges scrawled her signature over the necessary papers after looking through them. Asad removed the CD from his laptop and passed it to Narges as Zoya walked over to stand next to Anu, just to share a small high five behind Narges' back.
"Well Asad, I'll get going now. When will the model be ready by?" Narges asked, as she shifted her chair backwards and stood up. Asad walked over from his side of the table to usher Narges towards the door.
"It'll be ready by Tuesday, Insha'Allah. I will contact you again if there are any changes in schedule," Asad informed Narges, after performing a few mental calculations in his head to decide on how long he needed.
"Tuesday would be perfect. My mother will be leaving town for a month thereafter, so Tuesday would be the latest she can come and see the model for herself. After all, you and I both have to prove to her that her judgment about Dilshaad Constructions was wrong," Narges said laughingly, as she patted Asad gently on his arm. Asad joined the laughter politely, making Zoya slightly unhappy, for reasons she couldn't place.
Prasad and Anu flanked Narges on her two sides as they walked her to the exit, while Asad and Zoya walked a few footsteps behind them. As Prasad and Anu walked Narges out of the building towards her car, Asad stopped at the door and waved goodbye with his right hand, using his left one to grab Zoya's wrist and stop her from following after them.
"Miss Farooqui, I need to have a word with you in my cabin," Asad mumbled just as Zoya turned to glare at him for grabbing her. He let go of her wrist and began walking towards his cabin, internally relieved when he heard Zoya's feet drag across the floor and follow behind him.
"Ya, ya, mujhe pata hai aap kya kehne wale hai. I'm sorry for yelling at you, I was wrong about the program... vagera vagera. Yell at me in front of everyone, and then apologize in private. It's like your thing isn't it?" Zoya said smugly as she entered Asad's cabin and closed the door behind her. She rolled her eyes as she settled herself down on the sofa next to the door, without being asked to.
"Apologize for yelling at you? No, I didn't call you here to apologize, because I wasn't wrong in yelling at you. You were in the wrong for springing an unknown program onto all of us without prior notice, so I will not apologize for that. And I hope you have learnt your lesson and not do such things again. Like I said earlier as well, we work as a team, and so you need to inform your team members if you would like to make changes. But yes, I did call you here to compliment you on the changes you made and the effort you put in to help us clinch this contract. Thank you Miss Farooqui," Asad said, a hint of a smile forming on his face as he walked to the sofa, staring down at Zoya.
Zoya stopped herself before retorting about his lack of an apology, as she thought about what he said and realized that he was still right. Damn him. She bit her lower lip and shrugged, nodding as she accepted his show of gratitude.
"Aur ek baat, I just realized that you've been working here these past few days, and I haven't even seen your resume. Can I have a look at it?" Asad asked, as turned away and began walking back to his desk.
"Of course, mere iPad mein... nahi hai! Mere iPad mein kuch bhi nahi hai!" Zoya began to say as she picked up her iPad from the edge of Asad's desk and scrolled through it, before pausing and changing her mind in a strange way, clutching her iPad to her chest. Asad frowned at her, as he tried to decipher her behaviour. What's wrong with her now?

Important Note:Alright, I know I just came back and you guys are probably not gonna like this very much hahaha. See the thing is, from Sunday, I'm gonna experience some changes in my life/house, so I will not have the privilege of time and privacy to update as often as I usually do. In fact, I don't think I'll be able to come on the forum all that often at all.
But I will still try my level best to update at least once a week after Sunday, drop by and reply your comments before updating, being the ninja that I am :p Just asking for a little patience, so bear with me yeah! (:
