hi readers.. i would like to tell you that this story runs in two different times in lives of shlok and astha.. one is the college life and the other being the present day post 12 years.. so the parts which are the college life i will write it in blue and the present day parts will be written in maroon..

just to help u distinguish..

Part 3

Shlok looks at astha's resume... he calls up the reception and says " send her inside"

The receptionist asks astha to go into the cabin...

Astha is tensed.. but still she thanks the receptionist and walks into the MD's cabin..

Astha slowly walks in and sees everywhere.. her eyes bend down to the name card on the table.. " SHLOK AGNIHOTRI - MANAGING DIRECTOR"

" 12 years is a very long time astha..." shlok says as he turns around to see her ..

Astha and shlok share an eye lock and a guilt of not having seen eachother for so many years..

Shlok notices astha.. she has changed so much he thinks.. she is clad in a very simple plain sari. Very small earrings and nothing else.. no bangles and an empty neck and just no makeup.. holding a very simple brown purse and her file.. she is not the astha he knew 12 years ago..

shlok picturises astha he knew earlier.. dressed in loud colours, red, yello, green possibly shlok had seen her in all colours.. her danglers and bangles.. and ofcourse her matching jhola she used to carry to college was a unique piece.. she wouldn't change for anything in life..

Astha looks fidgety and keeps pressing her hands in stress.. shlok notices her uneasiness

Shlok breaks the silence " this job is yours.. u can join tomorrow.. if u like u can even join today itself and my manager will explain u all the work"

Astha cannot believe it " but u dint ask me anything?" she asks in astonishment

" I know how intelligent you are astha.. I know u haven't worked for so many years.. but that's fine..i trust ur ability.." shlok says in confidence..

Astha is in disbelief.. but she nods her head in a yes and takes her file from shlok..

" don't u wanna know ur salary??" shlok asks

" that's ok sir.. whatever u pay me will be alright" astha says with a traumatic look on her face..

Shlok feels that something in not right.. but decides not to ask astha anything for now.. he calls his manager and asks him come into the cabin..

" mr.khanna , this is astha.. she will be working as my new assistant.. please explain her all her responsibilities.. alright..".. " astha .. please go with mr.khanna.. he is my manager and he will tell you what ur work is"

Astha nods her head and walks out with the manager..

Shlok sees astha going out and wonders whats the matter with her..

Astha reaches a lady's house and knocks the door and then a loud angry lady opens the door

" oh madam.. finally u have come today??" she asks in anger

" sorry tai.. I was coming back from the college and my clothes got dirty so I had to go back to my room and change and come here.. so I got late.. but I promise I will finish all their subjects and go"

Astha takes tuitions for this lady's 3 kids to fulfill her expenses.. apart from that she does work in mall promotions on weekends etc for financial support..

" chalo get inside.." she says in annoyance " oye.. munna , babli. Ammu come down quickly.. astha has come .. get ur books and come down"

" tai" astha asks softly " is there something to eat?? I am very hungry tai.. pleasse" astha is unsure if she will budge

" ah ha.. firstly u come late and then I have to take care of ur hunger also??" she says in irritation

Astha curses herself to have asked her..

Just then rama tai comes there.. she is the same lady with whom astha stays and who helped her get into this college..

" oh rama.. there is some leftover poha from yesterdays breakfast.. give it to her.. and u eat soon and finish ur tuitions and get going" that lady says and walks away..

" oh hell with this lady and her kids tution.. first I have to teach her kids and they all get good marks in their class.. and I have to take all her shit behaviour towards me?? If it was not for ur job tai, I would have left this job long ago" astha says in anger to tai

" no my dear.. don't be angry.. u should be happy that u have got admission in such a good college... and then 2 years later u will have a good job.. then this same lady will bow before u" rama tai says with a smile.. " chalo I have made some roti and subzi this morning, I will give u that... wont u also tell me ehat happened at college today?"

" what to say tai.. a day full of insult and humiliation.. if one day was like this.. I wonder how I will continue 2 years??" astha says in a disappointed tone..

" no astha.. u must not be disappointed .. life will always throw these challenges before you.. and u must learn to handle it with courage.. u are my intelligent child.. and one day they will respect u for that.." tai gives confidence to astha

Shlok is in his room and getting ready to party hard... wearing his black leather jacket and spiking his hear with gel.. and talking on his mobile with his friends..

Then slowly he opens the door to see if anyone is around.. he sees his mother in the hall talking on the phone..

He goes back to the room and goes to the balcony and slowly puts his legs across and jumps down..

He jumps down successfully and dusts his hands.. and happily turns around to see his mother in front of him

" SHLOK..." she screams and gives a stern look

Shlok gets upset on being caught.. but he tries to persuade her... " mom please let me go.. its my friends birthday party today.."

Anjali is not ready to listen.. " shlok.. its been long time that ur dad has spoken to you right.."

"please mom.. please don't do that.. he will stop my pocket money.. please mom just today.. I will start studying from tomorrow..." shlok folds his hands and pleads

Finally after long persuation anjali agrees.. " ok fine shlok.. if ur semester marks soars then ur father will talk to u himself" she says sternly

" yeah mom.. I know that.. I never got bad marks right mom.." he tries to be sweet with her and runs to his car and leaves..

He goes to his friends house to pick him up.. his name is Vicky.. his friend also hiding from parents comes out of his house and sits into his car...

" yar shlok.. mom and dad are still awake.. I hope they don't find out.." he says in tension

" comeon yar Vicky.. why are u so scared of ur parents?? U need to learn from me.. see how I handle them.. they never are able to tell me anything.." shlok says proudly and drives away...

Shlok and his friend reach some party in a hotel pub.. there is loud music and lots of people dancing away...

Shlok and Vicky get inside and start dancing and giving hi fi to their friends around.. they take some drinks and start drinking too..

Actually to their ignorance it's a rave party going on.. his friend has called some drug dealer of the city and he is dispersing pills to the invitees

Shlok says to vicky.. " yar I don't understand this manish.. there are so many good hotels in the city,.. then why did he chose to keep this party in some cheap hotel hall?"

Manish comes and shlok hugs him.. " happy birthday bro.. cool party.." shlok says and smiles " but wish u had chosen some standard place"

Manish holds his and vicky's shoulder and says " don't worry u will know soon" and takes them to the drug dealer..

The guy shows some pills and powder and asks them which they want and how much??..

Shlok and Vicky get a bit tensed and stare each other .. " no no yar.. we don't do all this.."

But manish keeps insisting...

Suddenly they hear a police siren.. and the drug dealer wraps his things in tension and starts running.. " its police.. run" he says

Manish asks the DJ to turn off the music and they everyone start dispersing.. police enters the hotel.. and all start hiding and running...

Shlok and Vicky get tensed and they escape from the kitchen quickly.. the go down the hotel and see cops standing there.. They both run away in different directions..

One of the cops notice shlok and start following him...

Shlok runs and looks for a place to hide.. " oh god ..please save me.. or else mom will kill me".. and he runs into a small building..

He sees the cop still looking around...

He sees an open window and gets inside that... the light in the room is bit dim.. he looks out of the window and sees that the cop went away..

He feels a sense of relief.. he starts to slowly walk back and he bumos into someone.. and the person screams loudly..

Shlok gets tensed and shuts the mouth with his hand cornering the person holding the hands... and then he sees outside that the cop dint hear it..

Suddenly he sees who the person is.. it is noone other than Astha.. Shlok gulps with an expression of screwing up..

Astha looks at him in disbelief.. " mmm mmm" she says asking him to leave her..

He looks at her that she is in a towel.. suddenly he feels a kind of attraction towards her.. she looked so attractive.. with her wet long hair and the fresh smell from her just after a bath.. her wet eye lashes and the simplicity just keeps him looking at her..

Someone knocks at the door.. suddenly shlok gets back to senses and lets go of her and turns around as to not see her..

Astha gets annoyed and holds her towel tightly and runs back into the washroom.. " what the hell are u doing here??" she asks in irritation

" look please.. there is a cop behind me.. don't scream.." shlok says sternly

" very good.. hope he catches u and u get jailed for all ur life" astha says in irritation..

" ok shut up.. I dint do anything to u ok.." he says angrily..

Someone knocks again " astha .. astha are u alright?"

Astha comes out wearing a sawlar.. " yeah aunty I am fine.. just that there is a big rat in this room.. but its gone now" she says sarcastically looking at shlok..

Shlok sees outside and cant see any cops.. he jumps the window and goes away.. astha looks at him going away and grinds her teeth in anger.,

Shlok walks out of the buiding and sees behind.. and sees that the building name is " Amar Bhosle Anath Ashram" ( Amar bhosle Orphanage".. he feels somewhat after reading the name..

Shlok sits on his chair remembering astha's meeting in the orphanage first time and smiles to himself...
