Chapter -19

Madhu's POV

We stepped inside the restaurant and I couldn't believe my eyes what I was watching.

The entrance was beautifully decorated with red flowers and white candles. I was awestruck. I asked RK "This is for whom?"

He replied back smirking "Of course it's for my girl friend"

I started fuming and I don't know why. I replied him back angrily "I am leaving this place. You have fun with your date."

He pulled me from my wrist and said "You can't go without meeting her."

I replied him "Leave my hand RK. I don't want to meet anyone."

He asked "Why are you feeling jealous?"

I replied "Jealous and me? Why would I?"

He spoke "Then come and meet her."

I replied "I don't want to."

He spoke "Ahaan.. So you are jealous."

I spoke angrily "I said I am not jealous."

He replied "Then come and meet her."

I had to meet her without my wish or else he'll think that I am jealous.

I spoke "Okay. I'll meet her."

As we crossed the entrance, we entered in a big hall which was decorated more beautiful than the entrance. The room was filled with red flowers, red balloons, red curtains and red candles. I was amazed with the view. I thought "The girl is really lucky to have RK in her life."

I was lost in the view, when I heard someone singing something. I turned back and saw RK singing and even clapping saying "Happy Birthday to You. Happy Birthday to Dear Madhu. Happy Birthday to You."

My eyes were filled with tears, so all this decoration was for me. He really made me feel special but how does he know that it's my birthday?

He came towards me and said "Happy Birthday Mrs. Kundra" and winked.

I couldn't help but blushed.

I replied him with a smile "Thank you. But how do you know that it's my birthday today? Even I myself dint remember it."

He spoke arrogantly "Its magic."

I spoke "Oh come' on. Please tell me. I want to know."

He replied "Madam, we have whole day and night to talk about this. Let's first cut the cake and eat something. I am damn hungry."

I replied smiling "Okay."

I was about to cut the cake when he spoke "Wait a minute. Wish something before cutting the cake."

I asked "Wish? Do you really think that wishes come true?"

He spoke "Okay before cutting the cake, let me tell you one thing."

I said "Okay."

He spoke "Once a man asked God, Why we wish when everything is pre-written?

God replied you should wish because may be I have written in your destiny "As You Wish."

I spoke "Wow nice. But do you believe in God? I mean that's something new to me. Your personality doesn't look like that you are a theist. "

He replied "I am not a theist but I am not an atheist either. I mean I never believed in God until I met you."

I asked confused "Means? You are happy that you met me or you are accusing God that why we met?"

He spoke jokingly "Don't you think latter looks better?"

I punched him on his arm and he pretended like he's seriously hurt and spoke "Ouch! Don't you know that Indian wives worship their husband like God? And here you are beating me? Show some mercy."

I spoke "Don't you know Mr. Husband that I am born and brought up in Australia. So I am more like an Australian and less like an Indian."

He started laughing and spoke "Oh my God. You are a cat."

I spoke "Not a cat. I am a wild cat."

He spoke "And don't you know I love wild cats."

I replied "We don't know so many things about each other."

He spoke "Actually ya. Okay I have an idea."

I asked confused "What's that?"

He replied "Not now. Let's cut the cake first then will let you know."

I spoke "Okay."

Before cutting the cake I wished as he wanted me to wish something. After I opened my eyes he asked "What you wished?"

I replied "Why should I tell you? Wishes should be kept secret."
He spoke "Ahaan.. Good going Jungli Billi."

I smiled and cut the cake. I took a piece of cake and put it in his mouth. He took another piece and fed me and wished again "Happy Birthday Mrs.Madhubala Risabh Kundra."

I replied "Thank you Mr.Risabh Kundra aka RK." and winked at him.

He spoke "Okay I guess teasing session is enough. Let's eat something. I am hungry."

We started eating our lunch. I asked him in between "You had an idea about something. What it was about?"

He spoke "Oh yes. See, we don't know anything about each other. So let's know each other better by playing a game."

I asked confused "Game?"

He spoke "Yes game. See, we'll ask questions to each other and we have to tell truth only. No lies. In this way, we can know each other better and..."

I cut him mid way and spoke "And we'll become more comfortable in each other's company."

He replied "Exactly!"

I spoke excitingly "Okay. Let's start."

He spoke "Okay. But one question can be asked in a go for second question you need to wait for your turn."

I replied "Done. So who'll ask first?"

He replied "Ladies First."

I was damn excited to play this game so I asked him "Okay, so first its mine turn and I want to ask how do you know that it's my birthday today?"

He made a face "Out of all the questions you could asked me, you chose this one? Seriously?"

I replied arrogantly "For me, every little thing matters."

He spoke "Is it necessary to give answer now?"

I asked "Why are you avoiding this question?"

He replied "Okay listen then, yesterday I asked Bittu Ji to get your phone repaired. When we came from party, he gave me your phone and it was showing one missed call and one message. I checked the message without even asking you. "

I smiled and replied "Okay so Rohan is still the first one to wish me. I knew it that he can never forget my birthday."

He asked "How do you know it was Rohan only?"

I asked "So this is your question right?"

He replied "No it's not my question. I am asking generally."

I replied "It's your question only because you are asking me this."

He replied "Okay. It's my question now answer it."

I replied "Because Rohan is the only person who never forgets my birthday. He is always the first one to wish me and this time too he is first."

He asked annoyingly "Who's this Rohan?"

I spoke "No! You can't ask second question in a go. You need to wait for your turn."

He made a face and said "Okay your turn."

I said "I don't want to ask any question now. I need my phone first."

He asked "Why?"

I replied "Uff. You ask so many questions. Give me my phone. I want to talk to Rohan."

He gave me my phone angrily.

I literally snatched my phone from his hands and ran towards entrance. I dialed Rohan's number and as he picked the call he spoke "Happy Birthday to You.Happy Birthday to Madhu. Happy Birthday to You."

I spoke "Thank you so much Rohan. How are you? I dint know you called me at mid night. Just now RK told me and I instantly called you."

He spoke "Yes. I called you according to Indian standard time but no one picked the call and then I called on RK's number but I guess he disconnected the call."

I asked confused "What? Why? Why will he disconnect the call?"

He replied "I don't know."

I replied "Hmm.. Okay. Why are you sounding low? All okay?"

He replied "Yaa. I am fine."

I asked "Don't lie. You know that you can't lie to me."

He spoke "Nothing Madhu, just cold and cough."

I asked "Are you sure?"

He replied "Yes I am. You tell how are you?"

I replied "I am fine but as always missing you."

He spoke "I am missing you too but don't worry we are going to meet soon."

I replied "I am waiting for that day."

He spoke "Till than take care of yourself."

I replied "You too. Bybye."

He replied "Bye."

I disconnected the call and went back to the hall but there was no one. I called RK's name but no response.

Rohan's POV

Three days back she told me that she is married but till today my tears are not stopping. How can God be so cruel? She was the only one whom I loved like anything and God snatched her away from me? Why? What was my mistake? What was her mistake? Why she is suffering? I know she is not happy with him. She can never be happy with such a cruel and ruthless man.

I know I don't know him personally but picture speaks louder than words. His photos on internet and his interviews shows how much arrogant he is.

I don't care about him. I just care about my Mads. I love her like anything. I want her back. I want to give her all the happiness she deserves.

Why destiny played such a dirty game with me? Why didn't I stop Madhu from going? Wish I could stop her. Wish she was here. I want to make everything back to normal. But this is not possible now.

Today its Madhu's birthday and I called on her number but she dint pick the call. She might be sleeping so I sent her message. But I wanted to wish her first so I called on her hu... I called on RK's number. I can't call him Madhu's husband ever. He disconnected the call.

Madhu was the only reason I was living but now she's also gone and I have only loneliness with me. I am all alone. I lost my friend, my best friend, my love,my life, My Madhu. Everything is gone..
