Misha Collins was promoted to
series regular for Supernatural's
currently-airing ninth season and
a brand-new behind-the-scenes
featurette reveals exactly why it
was so important to have him
around full-time to bring Castiel's
new journey to the screen.
"In being human for the first time,
he's really going into this without
a net," Supernatural executive
producer Jeremy Carver says in
ETonline's exclusive sneak peek
at at a behind-the-scenes clip in
support of the Supernatural
Season Pass, now available on
iTunes. "He's not going to be with
The Winchesters, so he's not
going to have his safety blanket to
lead him through this."
"His arc this year is really
interesting," EP Robert Singer
adds. "Starting out with what it
really means to be human, having
to eat, having to sleep." He's also
dealing with the fallout from all
the angels falling to earth, which
you could blame him for -- and
as you've seen this season, many
are!
