The whole family literally assails Arnav and Khushi with fusillade of questions as if they did some infringement. Living in a modern era I really can't grasp what kind of crime they committed by getting married clandestinely! Arnav and Khushi both are adult and mature people. They have every right to take decisions of their life. Obviously to get married is not a crime. Or moreover Arnav is a self made man and doesn't depend on anybody else. nani and Anjali already selected Khushi for Arnav and they also knew that Arnav likes Khushi. We know Raizada family is a bit conservative and possessive, but was their reaction a bit too much! I can understand the consternation of Khushi's family, as they had some complex of their poor status. But I really couldn't understand Raizada family's resentment at Arnav and Khushi's marriage.
Let's come to the episode
Arnav retorts his family with volition. He tells his di that he fulfilled her wish by getting married. So the discussion should be over now. But nani is not ready to let him go so easily. She yelps at him, what does he think of himself, he took such big step and he expects that the family will bless him without raising a question. All are silent waiting for his answer. Arnav's eyes get redden, he gives Shyam an angry glare, who is responsible for all the unfortunate circumstances. Shyam is flaring his nostril in ire. Arnav intends to leave the place, but nani refrains him,
it's not a joke, so i can't let you go without answering.
Now starts buaji's rankle to Khushi. She accuses khushi to annihilate their reputation. They are ashamed of their upbringing. Babuji also beckons her to know the matter. But khushi is in impediment, she only has copious tears, what are streaming incessantly down her cheeks. Arnav can't take the family's prosecution any more; he has been trying hard to keep his temper under reign. He is about to leave when Anjali comes on his way to know the answer, why did he get married so fast! His stern answer,
you told me to get married, so I did.
He strides away from there fast. Anjali follows him, incessantly demanding his answer. But he is taciturn. He shuts the door in front of Anjali's face. Anjali gets terribly hurt at his beloved chotey's misdemeanor. Arnav is also convulsing to hurt his di. How can he say, he did this for her happiness.
I'm sorry di, there was no other way.
Both the siblings have broken down in tears on both side of the door. Akash comes to take Anjali. He is also her cute little submissive brother. Akash takes Anjali with him, but Anjali keeps look at the closed door of her bro's room.
Arnav left Khushi alone to face his family's afflictive words and contemptuous looks. First nani accuses Khushi for her temerity. She holds her arms vehemently and asks her, why did she take such step. She is aware of arnav's arrogance. Then why did not she stop him. Arnav can't judge between right and wrong, but how couldn't she.
Nani jerks Khushi and berates her to know the answer. After nani, Anjali starts her accusation to Khushi. She says she didn't expect this from her, as she knows the significance of marriage so well. Then how cum she made it ludicrous!. Nani again holds her strongly and asks her who gave her the right to take such big decision. She holds her mangalsutra and asks her, does she know the importance of this nuptial chain. she knows the importance of the mangalsutra very well, but how can she say she is a victim here. Khushi goes back to the flash back.
Arnav drives her to the temple. She looks at him with pleading eyes, but his eyes are steel with rage and hate. He gets her out of the car, hauls her along with him, climbs the stairs of the temple, makes her stand on the altar in front DM.
The bells of the temple are swaying wildly in the wind, their frenzied loud ringing resonating in chorus with the relentless pounding of their tumultuous heart. The wedding mantra starts to play at the BG. It's not some holly matrimony but a raging inferno threatening to burn everything in it's wake.
He picks the nuptial chain from the pooja thali and put it on her neck. There is deep rooted resentment and loathing in his eyes. Khushi stands there dumbfounded, can't imbibe what is happening. He is the man of her dream, she surely wanted him to put the mangalsutra on her neck, but not like this.
Back in RM hall
Anjali says khushi that some times back; she made her realize the significance of sindoor. But why she did some unethical thing today. Khushi again recollects the moment in the mandir, how her wedding happened.
Arnav takes pinch of vermilion in his finger and tells Khushi
These things are very important to you, right? This mangalsutra, this sindoor. Now take this mangalsutra and take this sindoor.
He covers her mang with pinch of vermilon. Hate is erupting from his eyes. And copious tears are spurting out from Khushi's eyes. The fire of retribution is burning bright in her heart. Arnav says with a glint of steel in his eyes,
Now you are my wife for the rest of the world, for six months and after that I'll set you free. But till then you will stay in my house with me as my wife. But do remember one thing this sindoor, this mangalsutra just a compromise, neither I will accept you as my wife nor I'll give you the right of a wife.
Khushi becomes aghast in front of formidable Arnav. She looks at her DM in embroilment and turns back from Arnav. She covers her face with her hand and starts to sob with excruciating pain.
Back to the present
Amma starts to chide Khushi now. But she can't continue as mami interrupts her. how she can be left behind as everybody is rebuking Khushi, after all she hates her since the day of their first meeting. She accuses amma for inciting Khushi to provoke Arnav. She thinks this two sister planned it.. And by marrying their sons, their plan succeeded. Akash retorts his mom. But he doesn't have that much of guts to antagonize his haughty mother. Mami is incorrigible, she stops him immediately. She blasphemes Gupta sisters with poignant words. She tells that Khushi entered the house with torn saree and won everybody's heart with her sweet talk. Then the other sister made her normal tang to khoon bhari tang and won her son's heart and reached directly to the wedding venue. Now she smells some conspiracy behind this. Nave NK doesn't get his aunt's sarcastic banter. When he asks her, Mami tells him, how he can understand as the person who knows everything has become silent. She asks Khushi, whose plan it was, Garimaji's or Madhumatiji's? khushi can bear any insult, any abuse, but can't see her family's humiliation. She begs her pardon for the sake of God to spare her family that her bua and her amma are not aware of anything. Mami's insolence is enough to instigate amma and bua. Bua also assents mami. She tells her, what she did, not only mami, but the whole world will think like that. Bua thinks Khushi deceived them, she furtively planned to marry Arnav. amma is so ashamed of her that she doesn't want to see her face. Both Amma and bua intend to leave the house. But mami doesn't stop. She taunts them that they sure will leave now, after making their two daughters Raizadas.
Khushi keeps her hand on bua's shoulder. Bua brushes off her hand when she tries to get their condolence. Amma and bua beg their forgiveness to the raizada family. Amma cares Payal lovingly as it's her bidai. They are woebegone to leave their daughter in such situation. Bua blesses her that she is proved the best daughter and should be proved the best daughter in law of the world. She must not do any such thing that can disgrace her in laws. Bua said these words for khushi, as they think she disgraced their family and she is not a good daughter. They take a leave after that. Khushi calls her babuji first, and then she calls them all from behind. but they are impervious to listen to her plea. Whereas payal is crying incessantly.
I wonder why Akash just didn't go to her side to console her! He is such a spineless man! The devil shyam who is the master mind of all the bad omen of Khushi's life is witnessing everything with perturbation.and flaring his nostril in rage. What he planned and what happened?. How much the family can hate Khushi, but the blunt truth is Khushi has become Arnav's wife now. So she is now beyond his reach.
Pause: my heart was cringing, aching for khushi. Everybody accused her for the crime she never committed. Her family was ashamed of her; they doubted her intention, they questioned her upbringing. I wish if they would know why she took such drastic step. I wish they would've known, she did it to save her jiji's marriage. If she wanted she could tell them how arnav coerced her to marry him. but her enormous and unconditional love for him bridled her to tell the truth. That is the glory of her love.
On the other hand Arnav just left her to get pestled by all. How much a young heart can bear! I was just astonished to see her endurance.
Khushi is pleading her family not to leave her like that. Bua admonishes her to call her buaji.
My niece Khushi wouldn't have done such thing. She wouldn't be quiet like this till now. she would tell me the reason. Are you satisfied by ruining our happy life?
Khushi comes to amma, tries to talk to her. amma shows her the mangalsutra and asks her is it a game? Does she know the value of it? She tells her that she knows. But amma now hates her so much that can't trust her at all.
Khushi leans down to her father, tries to get his mercy. The rest of the world can hate her, but her babuji can't. The disable man knows very well, his daughter can't do any such thing that can hurt his family. His quivering hand tries to give her his blessings. Khushi also cries her heart out on her babuji's lap. But bua thinks, she is pretending. She forbids her to stop acting,
Tum hamko kahika nahi choda sankadevi.
Bua tells amma to leave right now. Khushi holds them, tries to stop them, begs them not to leave her. But they are implacable. Amma again resents that because of her they are not in a position to face Payal's in laws. She also tells bua to leave, as there is nothing left to hear and talk. Khushi pleads, not to leave her. Before get in the car bua turns to Khushi and says,
Wow, Khushi, you proved it again that you are not our own blood.
Bua's last word is enough to tear asunder the poor soul!
