Castiel fans have a juicy
'Supernatural' episode in store for
them this Tuesday when actress
Shannon Lucio guest stars as a love
interest for our favorite angel. Well
known from her role as Lindsay
Gardner on The O.C.', this very
talented actress has been busy with
a role in Joss Whedon's Agents of
S.H.I.E.L.D.' as well as other
exciting projects in the works. Lucio
had plenty to say including how
Jared and Jensen "are so much fun
it should be illegal."
Q. I understand that you play a
character named April Kelly, a love
interest for fan favorite Castiel, in
the third episode of Supernatural's
season nine. Can you share any juicy
stories or spoilers with my readers?
I can't divulge any spoilers, because
where would the fun be in that? I can
tell all the Castiel fans out there that
April gets up close and really
personal with him. I went from
meeting Misha for the first time ever
to immediately straddling him in front
of 50+ crew members in a matter of
seconds. A bit awkward, yes, but do
I have the best job in the world, hell
yes!
Q. How was did you experience on
the set of Supernatural' compare to
other acting gigs?
The boys of Supernatural' are so
much fun it should be illegal. Those
guys know how to have a good time
on set, and I think that's part of what
makes the show so enjoyable; their
chemistry and shared enjoyment of
the moment. Jared and Jensen really
seem like brothers. After nine years
on a show, you can tell that the cast
and crew have built a family together.
It's a beautiful thing. Jared and I are
both from San Antonio. So we took a
trip down memory road during the
shoot. I felt so welcomed on set, and
in the amazing city of Vancouver, that
within a few days, I literally was
considering uprooting my life to
move there.
Q. You played Debbie in Agents of
S.H.I.E.L.D.' Avid Joss Whedon fans
would love to know if there's a
chance for your character's return to
the series.
Those fans will just have to keep
watching the show to find out. I wish
I could spill the beans, but Marvel
doesn't play around with their NDAs.
Q. Can you share any upcoming
projects with your fans?
My production company, Filament
Features , is gearing up to produce a
feature film I wrote that's tentatively
titled "The Eternity of Energy." If all
goes as planned, we will begin
principle photography in Kauai next
spring. My fianc, Charlie Hofheimer,
and I will play lovers navigating a
particularly rocky moment in their
relationship while in the Hawaiian
paradise. Yes, that's right. I wrote a
film that would take me, my man, and
our closest pals to Hawaii for 2
months. Not a bad strategy, eh?
Q. Your fans would love to know if
you have any hidden talents. How
about playing an instrument, singing,
writing?
Well, I do play the piano, but I
wouldn't exactly say it was a 'hidden
talent.' More like a sporadic attempt
to stumble my way through a song
an 8 year old could play blindfolded.
But hey, you gotta start somewhere. I
do hope that I'll keep playing into my
golden years. Eventually I'll be able
to tackle Claude Debussy's "Claire de
Lune" like a pro.
Q. I'm going to end with what's
become my signature question. If
you were a baseball player, what
would your walk up song be? What
song pumps you up and inspires
you?
Hands down, Christina Aguilera's
Fighter.' I get so riled up when I
listen to that song, especially when
I'm running, that I get serious angry
face. Like "Boy, don't you dare get in
my way. I'll run right through you!" It
comes in handy when I'm running
through dangerous parts of LA
because no dude wants to mess with
me when I have my angry face on.
