And then, He Proposed!!
"Khushi, mujhe tumse kuch baath karni hai".. "bas karni hai" (Khushi, I have to talk to you, just have to!)... he said as he advanced towards her with that dream and desire for her in his eyes.. she melted as she continued their reciprocal dance. But in the end, he didn't utter a word.. yet said it all..and an absolute contentment reflected in her eyes as if she imbibed what he implied.. a literal soulmate conversation!

It was one of the most beautiful sights of a man proposing to his woman... exactly how she would like it! ASR, caught in an unfamiliar and rather uncomfortable territory of expressing his feelings for his girl, found something that would exactly say what he meant to... a red bindi... as he looked dreamily into her eyes, yet his smart Harvard brain and a deft hand would make sure to align that bindi on the mirror so that it would exactly sit where its supposed to on her forehead, in the center of her eyebrows when she looks at her reflection! No delicate box with a glittering diamond ring, no kneeling down, no holding hand... but an exact culturally analogous act to propose to his girl... that that act takes one's breath away!

ASR, the suave man, who wouldn't believe in any of the orthodox rituals, in the end did give everything what his tradition adhering woman would dream of from her husband much feore they actually got married, a payal (anklet), chudiyaan (bangles) and a bindi (vermillion)! Then she called him most tenderly "Arnavji" and he said "hmm..." most intimately...it is moments like these.. couples like these .. who perhaps can make one believe that no rituals are necessary to feel and respect a couple's unison at many levels!

A beautifully crafted and enacted sight, that ends up alas as their last moment of bliss before it all went for a nose dive. "Ab jab meri manzil nazar me thi, toofan tujhe bhi abhi aana tha kya"??!! (now when my destination is well in sight, O storm.. do you have to hit just now?)

Wow Horizon, beautifully written. 👏 I have been thinking about the same for the past few days, all the things that he's been giving one after another, and just before leaving to get married the shagun ka thaal is also handed over by Khushi to Arnav. But that bindi scene was so romantic, wished it went on for long. But the bedard zamana kept interrupting. The last line in bold, exactly.

Thanks Blasters for your kind words for the boy who is no more. He was the only son of his poor mother, who works as a maid. His father had passed away when he was a kid. May DM give strength to his mother. I don't know what else to say. You guys are right. DM does take away good people early, Sigrid. Thanks for pointing out Horizon that people who die on special days are special to DM. The absurdity of life, Issk, the trivia vs the important, Kate...I so agree. Thanks Supi, I hope I gave him a reason to smile. Durgey, thanks for understanding. You know Tinku was so particular about road safety measures, I dont think he was minus a helmet. But who knows! Chalhov I feel your loss.
I am sorry for bothering you all. I am much better. Thankyou.🤗

Hey all involved in the Bappi- Pappi saga, here is Bappi with Barun! Poor Barun was feeling out of place with all that gold glittering next to him, so i gave him a crown of gold! And look at his stance! Maar dala! I should have placed another crown at his feet!😛

Dear friends I might not be able to come on the thread for a few days! The main Puja days begin from tomorrow! So! Happy Puja to you and your families! 🤗

Devi mantra in Sanskrit

Ya Devi sarva bhuteshu Matri rupena samsthita
Ya Devi sarva bhuteshu Shakti rupena samsthita
Ya Devi sarva bhutesu Shanti rupena samsthita
Namestasyai Namestasyai Namestasyai Namoh Namah

Translation:

The goddess who is omnipresent as the personification of universal mother
The goddess who is omnipresent as the embodiment of power
The goddess who is omnipresent as the symbol of peace
I bow to her, I bow to her, I bow to her

Yes that was beautiful Horizon. A proposal, but no ring, no kneeling down, no holding hands only aligning a red bindi to the middle of her forehead , between her eyebrows! With this I thee wed! And they did wed though in unhappy circumstances!

i'm really sorry to hear about the boy. I wish his soul may rest in eternal peace and may God gives his mom patience to bear this pain.
Sometime such unfortunate things happens in life that is just unbearable. I'll sure pray for this distraught mother and her deceased son. I wish no mother goes through this kind of pain. Ameen.
