I am away for a week and 4 chapters already! Tum toh cha gaye writer sahiba! Writing marathon, is it? 😉
Statutory warning: Beware! It is a long comment! Keep a glass of water to drink at regular intervals! 😆
Chapter 14 Part B
It is hard to believe it is the same Khushi who used to play basketball like a pro. And now she is scared of sports? Funny it is how striking inerasable incidents and sands of time change a person!
The uneasiness that crept up into Khushi's being when she saw Sheetal and Arnav exchange smiles and high-fives, it gives away much of the signs of her attraction towards Arnav, even if she is unaware of it. But what she fails to see is how Arnav is trying to help her to surface to the fore, let go of the demons of the past.
Ah! Our Arnav did get fiery with anger out there! "You either catch the ball or move away from it!" I am surprised Khushi doesn't realize it! Why don't you Khushi?! Fool indeed! Or shall I say Fools with the stress on the s'?
The conversation by the beach highlighted the confusions dwelling in Khushi's mind and the elements of obliviousness in both of them. Khushi is perplexed as to why she is entitled to receive the unknown signals from him. Why only him? Arnav himself isn't aware of anything and he doesn't even want to. Ignorance is bliss after all!
Chapter 15
Arnav walking into...well that was embarrassing indeed! Newly married couple, new love! 5 years isn't a long time, no? And why the whys? First from Khushi and now from Anjali! Not that Arnav is going to answer any one of them without a clear cut evasion! Anjali has some serious misunderstanding stance!
Khushi has indeed started to take huge steps forward and that is surely an achievement. The drink scene you put up there, it reminds me of Yeh Jawaani Hain Deewani for some reason. I loved it, nonetheless. The statements about the sea, the waves and the shore, I couldn't help thinking about Khushi, Arnav and the demons of past, the strange connection they have there which makes them deeply entwined to each other in ways more than one. Another stroke of beauty! I am falling in love with those conversations they have, purely refined, perfect to the situation. Great job you did there!
The intense moment you penned down at the finality of the scene could've taken my breath away.
How long would they deny what is in between them?
Chapter 16
I am awestruck at the brilliant portrayal of the reflections of Khushi and her thought processes as she tried to make out the endeavors of the day and relate it with the past - the unforgettable moments that lay sacred in history, secrets to them both, cherished by them both. And somewhere there she felt she could merge those two and yet there lay a certain daunt of fear, a doubt, an uncertainty at the turn of events and clutching the jacket close to her heart, she had reached a conclusion. She felt something for Arnav. The stranger wasn't a stranger, after all. And with realization and acceptance comes anticipation.
That song, though Bollywoodish, was very apt for the emotions flitting through in between them. And indeed, happiness bounced from every nook and corner of the room. But then...Beautifully written!
Chapter 17
Arnav has to figure out' a lot, no? It feels as if his poor brains are going to get roasted! I pity him, I really do. But they surely have gotten tangled into the web weaved by themselves. Oh such a royal mess!
And their realization of their feelings for each other, though meager, has left them unsettled in the little moments they spend and their want for more has definitely increased. A little bit more of smiles, a little bit more of their talks, a little bit more of drowning into their eyes... And the sea greets them yet again. Did I mention that I love their catch and fall sessions?
Her sudden desire to be lifted by him, the sight of the foot prints on the sands of beach of a few days flashing before her eyes and later the refusal even when she had the chance, I can't help but feel the insecurity dwelling in her mind. And why, oh why, does Anjali have to have a misunderstanding? And Sheetal's bewilderment is quite valid, and I've grown to love her even more!
Arnav and Khushi's hug promising assurance was as if settling on a conscious agreement, but nevertheless, a huge step forward. And Khushi's ease in proximity with Arnav and the level of comfort she has grown to share with him makes it all the more curious for us readers to know what happens next.
The little details you add here and there, it is hard to miss that you've taken up such an effort to do so. So hats off to you for utilizing the powerful words so effectively that we feel as though we are watching a movie, but with more insights into the characters. 👏 Not many have that talent!
And one more thing that I would definitely love to appreciate and congratulate you for is that your writing has improved every passing update. Not that it was not better anyway! 😃
Thank you so much once again for writing this story! It is a pleasure to read such a marvelous piece!
