I closed the door behind me as I entered.

"What are you doing Arnav?" I heard her ask.

"What am I doing? I'm visiting my girlfriend." I said as I offered her the flowers.

She crossed her hands and looked away. I went to the vase and replaced the old ones. I turned to see her typing away furiously on her laptop.

"Khushi, I am sorry."

"It is okay. Now you can leave." She said, not taking her eyes away from the screen for even a second.

"Look at me please."

"Can't you see I am busy?"

"I can't." I said closing her laptop.

Khushi's eyes widened to saucer size.

"What did you just do?"

"I closed your laptop."

"But why? I have work to do"

"Arnav Singh Raizada's girlfriend should not say that to him."

"And why is that?"

"Because you are Arnav Singh Raizada's girlfriend."

"Stop it Arnav."

"No Khushi, you stop doing this to me, I said I am sorry."

"Okay, sorry accepted, now listen to me."

"No dear, you listen to me first"

"Arnav, you know what, the actual problem is that you won't listen to me. If you had earlier then you wouldn't have been here apologizing."

"I know that. I will listen to you, but not now."

"Then?"

"Come with me"

"Where?"

"You know where"

"I can't Arnav, seriously I have work to do"

"It can wait. Now go get ready"

"I won't." She said standing up.

I went and stood beside her and she turned her face to the opposite side. I kissed her on the cheek.

"Please Khushi, go get ready"

"I..." She began, but I cut her off.

"Please"

She finally gave in and went upstairs, hopefully to get ready.

I really hope that she would forgive me after what I had planned for her. I was feeling very guilty and Rishabh was not of much help this time. When I told Sam about what happened he said that he would not help me.

She came down a few minutes dressed in a blue top and red leggings.

"Thanks for coming. "I said as we got into the car.

"I have not forgiven you yet."

"I know and I will make you forgive me."

"We will see."

KHUSHI

Arnav stopped the car in front of the gate, came out and opened the door for me.

"I will open the gates." He said as he went towards it with the keys in his hands.

"Did you have dinner?" He asked me.

"No."

"We will, after this okay?"

"Okay"

The garden looked somewhat different. There were lights all around.

"Why the lights Arnav? What is special?"

"You were coming, you are the special one."

"This is not the first time I am coming here Arnav."

"I know, but this is the first time I have to apologize to you."

"Oh"

"I really am sorry Khushi, it was entirely my fault. I should have given you a chance to explain." He said as he stood in front of me.

He spoke again as I opened my mouth.

"Look there."

He said pointing at one of the walls covered in lights. The lights started to flicker and then alphabets started appearing one by one.

I was astonished with the arrangement.

"I love you too Arnav." I said with tears in my eyes.

He closed the gap between us and hugged me. Hugged? Why didn't he kiss me? I was happy with the hug too, I had missed him whole day.

"Now Khushi, am I forgiven?"

"Yes"

"Good, I have something more to tell you."

"What is that?"

The next moment I saw him take out a pretty box from his pocket. He isn't proposing yet, is he? Not probably as he hasn't gone on his knees. That is how you propose right? Even if he proposes, that would be too soon right? We met like six or seven weeks ago.

I ignored my thoughts as he placed the box in my hands.

"Open it."

I saw a pretty platinum ring with a heart in the middle which had smalls diamonds on its side. Before I could ask him, he spoke.

"This is a promise, a promise that I will always love you and no one can replace you in my life. It will be a constant reminder that I am committed to you and you to me. I love you Khushi."

"Thanks, I said as he slid the ring into my finger.

"My pleasure dear."

"Why?"

"Because I didn't want to propose you yet, as we had never talked about marriage. Although I am ready for that huge step I didn't know what is in your mind. I wanted to do something tonight and nothing could have been better than this."

"I love you"

"And I love you too."

I leaned forward to kiss him. Before I could reach him, he spoke. What is it today with him and not kissing?

"You do not want to do this in front of them, do you?"

"You are all here?"

I saw Rishabh, Anya and Samar coming towards us.

"Who do you think operated the lights miss?" Sam asked asked as he stood next to me.

"Arnav you knew?"

"Yup dear, I brought them here to help me. Special mention, Rishabh did not do anything nor did his fiance. Samar just operated the lights. I locked them in before I came to fetch you so that you would not question me. Also I wanted them to know that I have promised you something."

"Great plan Mr. Arnav Singh Raizada."

"Thanks Ms. Khushi Gupta."

"Hey." I heard a female voice and that did not belong to Anya.

"Who was that?"

"That was my sister Niveda." Arnav said as he went to pick up the laptop from the nearby bench.

"Bhai, don't pick it up, I can see everyone in this position. And you Ms. Journalist, I have been gone only for a few days and you forgot my voice?"

"It isn't like that. I was thinking of where your voice came from as I could see only Anya here from the female species other than me."

"I wanted them to know too." Arnav said and I noticed Liam next to Nivi.

"We are here too." I heard Ria's voice and saw her face on the laptop placed on another bench. Ria was grinning while Karan who sat next to her smiled.

"My brother did a great job." Nivi said.

"Yeah, after fighting with her."

"And he made it up with all this..."

" Still, a fight is a fight."

"Stop it girls. Why are you two quarrelling over this."

"Khushi, you stay out of this."

"What the..."

""Stop it girls, and you Khushi, you just can't say What the' all the time. it is my trademark line and you would need copy rights to use that."

"I don't"

"You do"

"No"

"Yes"

"No"

"Yes"

"Stop it you two. You guys just patched up after your first fight. Take some time and relax before you start the next." Rishabh cut in.

"Sorry" Arnav said.

"It is okay"

"Now you" He said.

"Me what?"

"Say sorry"

"Why should I? It was your fault."

"No"

"Khushi" I heard Anya call me.

"Okay sorry"

"It is okay."

"Well Nivi, I was wrong earlier. Khushi is the trouble maker"

"No Ria, it is my brother"

"It is Khushi"

"Arnav"

"Khushi"

"Arnav"

"Now if you are not stopping this Khushi-Arnav match, I will have to shut the laptops." Anya warned them.

"Okay both are equally guilty."

"Yeah that is it."

We talked to Nivi and Ria for a while and then went for dinner. It was around one in the morning when we reached home.

As we were at the door I felt his eyes on me and I turned to face him.

His cool lips were soon on top of mine. I was waiting for this moment from the morning. My whole body jolted in reaction as he deepened the kiss. His hold tightened and my body shivered with anticipation. I pressed myself against him as hard as I could as we stood there kissing each other.

"I should go." He said when we broke apart.

"Can't you stay a little longer?"

"I would love to dear, but I can't. I need to be at the airport at five and I haven't packed."

"You haven't packed yet?"

"Yeah, I haven't"

"Then let's go to your place. I will help you pack."

"Really?"

"Yeah."

"I can take you to the airport in the morning."

"And?"

"Then come back home. I won't be able to come in with you."

"We go to the airport by the team bus dear, you can drop me at the office."

"Okay then I'll do that. Now lets go."

We went back to the car and he drove to his house.

"I will make some coffee for us while you take out the things you want."

"Thanks, how did you know I wanted coffee?"

"I didn't know that, I wanted some and so I offered to make for you too" I said and winked at him.

"You..." I heard him say before I escaped to the kitchen.

I went to the room with two coffee mugs in hand.

"Hey I've taken all my accessories out; I need some casuals, not many."

"I will do that." I said as I went to his wardrobe.

He came up to me and hugged me from behind.

"Arnav, let me finish this"

"No need Khushi, I am tired."

I turned around and gave him a small kiss on his lips.

"Go and take rest, I'll take care of it."

"No I will help you." He said taking some random clothes out.

"Arnav..." I tried protesting, but he silenced me with his lips.

I was completely lost. We kissed and kissed and kissed. We continued for a while, coming out for air a few times.

"Now go and get some sleep. We do not have much time left." I said looking at the clock. It was already two thirty.

This time he nodded, went, and sat on his bed while I packed up his clothes.

Around three fifteen, I finished, I saw him sleeping peacefully in sitting position in his bed. He looked cute in his sleep, which made me want to pull his cheeks.

I tried to sleep, but no luck. I went around the house; compared to the last time I was here, everything seemed misplaced. I guess Nivi was the one responsible for the neatness then.

I heard Arnav's phone ring, after a few seconds search I found it on the couch.

"Are you up yet?" I heard Rishabh ask.

"No Rishabh, he is still sleeping." I replied.

"Khushi, you are with Arnav?" he asked me.

"Yeah."

"Where are you now?" I heard Anya ask.

"I am at his house. I came over to help him pack."

"Okay, should I come to pick him?"

"Nope, I'll drop him at the office."

"Okay then, see you there." Anya said before she cut the call.

What would they have thought when I answered the call?' The question was there in my mind from the moment I answered.

Well Never mind' I told myself as I went upstairs to wake Arnav up.

"Arnav" I called.

"Hmm"

"Wake up"

"Why?"

What sort of a question is that?' I thought.

"You have to go to the office"

"Why so early Khushi?"

"But Arnav..." I was cut mid-off by Rishabh's call.

"If he doesn't wake up, try sprinkling water on his face." I heard him say.

"What?"

"Yeah, do as I said."

"What if he gets mad?"

"Believe me he won't, you have my word. Niveda found this technique out and it is hundred percent fool proof."

I took some water from the jug kept on the nightstand and sprinkled it on his face.

"What the Nivi" he said as he woke up. He was shocked to see me instead.

"Khushi?"

"Yeah me"

"How did you know that?"

"Rishabh told me to try this if you don't wake up."

"it is Nivi who does this all time"

"I need to thank her for that. Now go get ready."

He went to have a quick shower and soon we were in his car.

"I will see you soon. After all you are coming to South Africa right?" he asked me.

"Oh shit! Arnav I wont be, I completely forgot about the work Mr. Sharma assigned me. I need to submit it before eleven in the morning today if I am to go to SA."

"Don't worry dear; you will be able to complete it. I know you can."

"But I don't think I can, remember I was trying to say something to you yesterday night when you came home? Well this was the thing."

"Again it happened because of me. I promise to not say anything while you speak."

"It is not entirely your fault."

"What is happening?" Anya asked as she came to us. I explained to them what happened.

"Drive safe." Arnav said as I got in his car.

"Do not worry, I won't hurt your car."

"Car doesn't matter, your safety does."

"I will take care of myself."

"You better. And yeah, the house keys are right there." He said pointing to the dashboard.

"Keep them with you"

"Yeah. I will miss you"

"I won't if you finish your work and come there."

"I will try my best."

I cursed Mr. Sharma all the way home as I had lots of work to do because of him. What type of a deal was that? He knew this was my dream job. You know something, I should have quit right then, when he asked me if I would like to continue there or not. Other channels would have taken me in easily because I had worked under him.

I went home and tried my best. Around nine- forty five I finished.

"Hello Khushi." Mr. Sharma said as he attended the call.

"Good morning sir"

"I take it that you have completed the work I had assigned you."

"Yes sir"

"Okay then, be here soon."

"Yes sir"

I had a long shower this time. I hadn't slept even for a second the day before and so I needed to relax. I reached office around ten-forty five dressed in my usual formal wear.

I went straight to Mr. Sharma's cabin.

"May I come in sir?" I asked after I knocked on the glass door.

"Come in." I heard his faint sound.

"Good morning sir, here are the papers." I said handing over the file to him.

"Ms. Gupta, Mr. D'souza here was the first to report. Take a seat while I have a look at his work.

"Sure sir." I said as I took the seat next to Ronald.

Mr. Sharma spoke up after examining my file, which was half an hour after I had given it to him.

"Ms. Gupta, are you sure you have all the papers in here?"

"Yes sir"

"Then I am sorry to inform you that Ronald will be leaving for Durban tonight with the crew."

"But sir..."

"One paper is missing Ms. Gupta, better luck next time."

Ronald got the day off to arrange to leave. To say I was disappointed would be an understatement.

"Hey Khush" I heard Nivi say as I attended her call.

"Hi"

"You seem down" She said.

"No, there is nothing."

"Tell me Khushi. I agree I haven't known you for long, still I can make out if your mood is down."

"I can't go to SA to cover the matches."

"Oh, that is bad."

"I really wanted to go."

"Don't worry. You will get a chance soon."

We talked for a while. Like yesterday, I had a series of calls from Ria, Anya and my parents.

"Hey" this time it was Arnav.

"Hi." I said trying to cover the disappointment in my voice.

" We just landed somewhere in the middle and I did not bother to ask anyone as I was in a hurry to talk to you. The next flight is around two hours late."

"Oh"

"What happened Khushi? You seem sad."

"It is nothing Arnav."

"Okay, I forgive you for this time, don't try to lie to me, ever again"

"I can't come there Arnav. According to Mr. Sharma, one paper of mine was missing."

"Oh no, that is bad."

"I know Arnav" and with that I broke down.

"Khushi, baby don't cry please. It is okay. If you want, I can arrange for you to be here."

"And what Arnav? I wanted to be there on duty and I was not able to make it."

"It is okay darling. Don't cry over small matters, I know you are talented and Mr. Sharma will realise that too."

"Thanks"

"Where are you now?"

"On my way to my car. Mr. Sharma is here." I said as I reached the parking lot.

"Oh kay"

"Oh shit!" I said as I opened the door of my car.

"What happened Khushi?"

"The missing paper, it is here"

"Show that to him. I'll hold" he said.

"okay"

I picked up the paper from the car and went to him.

"Sir, the missing paper, it was in my car all these time"

"You should have checked earlier Khushi, at least when I asked you. I really wanted you to go, but Ronald reported to me first and his work was complete. I had no other option."

"It is okay sir"

"Were you crying?"

That question made my eyes water again, but I covered it up quickly.

"No sir, see you tomorrow"

"Sure"

"And by the way sir I forgot to mention, Mr. Rishabh Singhania is engaged. He agreed to give us an exclusive interview with his fiance once he returns."

"And when did he tell you that?"

"Yesterday sir"

"And you are telling me now? If you had told me earlier I could have took this in your favour and sent you to Durban."

"It doesn't matter anymore sir."

"Now whenever you get something like this, tell me first okay?"

"Okay sir"

"I will keep this in mind for the next task."

"Thank you sir"

"But how do you manage this Khushi? I mean you brought us the news of Arnav-Alisha break up and now this?"

"The former was mere luck sir. I met Rishabh yesterday after that interview and he by mistake told me about his fiance and I persuaded him on giving us one. I believe he will stick to his words"

"Great going kiddo, keep up the good work."

"Will do sir, bye"

By now my mood was back to normal.

"Good work dear" Arnav said as I went back to the call.

"Thanks"

"And yeah, the former wasn't mere luck"

"But I can't tell that to him"

"Right"

"Arnav" I heard Rishabh call him over the phone.

"Yeah I'm coming." I heard him say.

"Hey I need to leave. I'll talk to you later."

"Okay then, bye"

"Bye and you take care."

He cut the call and I drove my car home feeling slightly disappointed and at the same time happy that Mr. Sharma was happy with my work.
