Dear diary,
Now that muqaddar has settled the dust surrounding her uprootment, zoya opens her eyes wide open...to see the other half of Mr. Khan's family😲. It is like, she is in a different planet.😕 Or has travelled in a time machine to reach a different era.😕
She sees an unwilling bride being led into marriage.😲
She sees Mr. Khan's two sisters shifting through shades of sautele to sauten to settle into daughters- in- laws of the same house.😲
She sees a brother who once could not keep his sense of justice control his tongue, being moulded into the obedient young man society wants him to be.😲
She sees a father keeping silent at the injustice meted out to his own daughter, in front of his very eyes.😲
She sees two young men who should stand up for their partners, cower under the glare of society's pressures.😲
She herself is the object of disgust in Humeira's Mom's eyes, when everyone else is making a mockery of her unfortunate situation.😲
She also sees a sister trying to save her own sister from disgrace, and heart break..😭..and that sister weepingly awarding her mother's blessings on to her.😭😳
Zoya cannot believe what she has seen before her very eyes in one day in SM...the Haseena Bee who wouldn't open her mouth in front of Mr. Khan, seems to hold everyone's tongues. What was the magic that Mr. Khan had, that he had shielded his Ammi, Najma and her from this world?
Was it to this world, Mr. Khan had condemned her😒- a world of ridicule and falsehood?😭 Such a far cry from the sane and sensible haven his house had been.😭
Yet, this was a part of his life too...a taste of what he himself had endured, and as Phoophi had said long back, kept Tamatar away from.
Indeed, when would he deliver her from this mad place?😡
Zoya's displeasure at Mr. Khan's unfair demand breaks out😡, until she too hides it under the cloak of tehzeeb and tameez she is expected to wear...

Ladies and Gentlemen, Fasten your seat belts...You have left the charming New World, and entered the disgusting Old World of Qubool Hai...this ride will not be smooth, until Zoya finds her bearings and feels fit for the adventure...😆

I know this is not the Fairy tale romance Zoya expected from Mr. Khan. Her perfect world has been shattered...and Asad will never forgive himself FOR PUTTING HER THROUGH ALL THIS!
