Moumi!!-----
"Our looong talks, our ridiculously matching views, our ek doosre ki baath kaatna, completing each others sentences, our late night discussions---- your Amazing comments, hell! uh! whatever I try to write would feel less.. so a simple reason here---
This chapter is really special, and when you read--if you read, you will get why, and when I thought of this, you are only person I wanted to hear from how good/bad my little stupid imagination is! And like we both know, every song has a special memory, if not for ample of unexpressed things about us, this dedication is just for heck of this song, and that should do... :* :* Love you :) <3 "

Ah...! to my lovely readers who had been with me since very first chapter.. **waves hands** how are you all doing?
**
Confession today would be about a stupid problem with me. I'm a die-hard Bollywoodie...
And as much as I tried to keep this novel way---bollywood had to butt it,. More so, for me music creates imaginations, so I really cant help it at times. Okay not blabbering more, just read on already! LOL!!!

Chapter-16:
She ran as fast as her legs could take her, through the familiar paths, her heart vigorously pounding inside her chest and her thoughts dangerously ruminating back into a different time, different persona, what seemed like a different life time altogether, yet, the awakening of feelings suddenly felt so prominent, that she for a change waited for the images to surface back into her vision instead of pushing them away even as her limbs continued to fasten her running self.
Her legs screeched to a halt as soon as she reached the front porch of her little one-storied house and she stumbled into a sitting position on the wooden stairs that were leading up to her door. Her breathing was heavy owing to the fast paced running, as her forehead shimmered with little droplets of perspiration and she buried her face into her hands, trying to calm down her nerves as well as her disoriented breathing. She didn't know how long she sat there, lost in a different world and different time, as the familiar brown eyes, that very familiar, now prominent look continued to haunt her thoughts, even as she took turns to caress her eyes and forehead with the tips of her fingers in circular motions----her face inside her palms and wiping the little sweat droplets away from her face using the sleeves of her pale brown shirt.
And then as if in daze, her eyes suddenly concentrated on the color of her shirt, even as she stared at her own sleeve thoughtfully, her feet on their own accord flattened on the ground, pressure instantly inducing into her legs as she stood still in daze and turned around climbing up to open her door. She walked straight into her little bed-room, climbing the wooden linear stair-case, as her eyes flickered around thoughtfully and her thoughts completely pre-occupied on the image of her destination.
Once, inside her room, her hands instantly worked to open her rectangular wardrobe, clearing a stack of clothes being hanged inside, away from her view, reaching to the neatly folded heap of clothes beneath, as her one hand tugged underneath finally extracting the object of her thoughts.
She unfolded the pale brown leather jacket and held it in front of her vision as her eyes zoned out into a distant imagination which she have now visited quite a few times. She found herself trying to picture him in it, even as the vague imagination didn't give away much and then she sighed bringing the leather apparel closer. Her mind instantly flickered with flashes of multiple images of a past---- a very visually vague yet somehow prominent past amidst hospitals walls and a colorful yet distant past amidst older colorful surroundings, all juggling inside her head randomly causing her to close her eyes as an instant reaction.
She sqeezed her eyes shut trying to push them all away, like she always does but it didn't work. Holding the leather jacket even more closely, with her eyes still shut, she tried again pushing the images away but instead a sudden prominent image flashed in between her pupils and the closed lashes and the image stayed a bit longer, before it took her down into a weird memory lane, slowly and evenly, unlike the juggling way and she found herself relaxing, her eyes settling down peacefully still closed and her hands tugging at the jacket closer.
His eyes, as he held her by her elbow, protectively, securely, a little flicker of worry reflecting in them...
His face, inching closer, his eyes again taking a color of a sudden possessed desire, causing her to shiver internally even as her exterior----rather her physical instincts anticipated the contact...
-------Something which didn't happen in another such situation of another time. Had she seen the same possessed desire combined with an unknown emotion even back then?
His face inching closer, his nose aiming to sniff at her neck as her scared red eyes oscillated vigorously, her limbs lying motionless beneath him desperately trying to induce moment...and his dangerous sharp gaze...
Was it the same emotion she has seen today? Was it just not act back then, like she had always been thinking? Is the raw emotion still evident in her mind like a freshly edged memory was true? Just like it was even evident today?-----she wondered as her mind wandered back again to a few minutes ago.
His eyes that opened instantly at her gasp reflected a kind of emotion filled with concern, something she had always only dreamt of to be directed at her only in a far away long-lost teenage dream ...
His eyes reflecting another foreign emotion while registering her non-scared stance, her non-hysteric reaction and they flashed a little smile registering something...
What?' She asked herself even as the images continued to play in her mind...
Her running self, flipping her head around to look at him once in a while still running, his calm, composed, hands-tugged-in-pocket walking self, his fixed gaze on her from behind...
Her mind, immediately took her to another far away memory where the roles were reversed.
"I'm interested in mysterious people like you, and I like figuring them out, see you are actually talking human way with me finally" She heard her own voice in her mind and her lips started edging into a small smile.
She looked on in amusement, seeing the sparkle of laugh in his eyes, not a usual sight...
She looked on with sudden longing feeling as her hand was firmly held in his, in a shake-hand...
"All the best Stranger!"
"To you too weirdo!"
She looked on as he turned around to walk away from her. She looked on keenly as he walked hopping a little, with positive excitement; she noticed and smiled still observing him from behind. Something constricted inside her heart, as he walked along the turn in the road and away from her vision. She stood there watching the empty space, in thick darkness of the hot May Delhi night, with humidity still very evident in the air, and as she stared into nothingness, she found herself going still and rigid.
After an impulsive moment, she broke into a small run, in the direction where he left, not quite figuring out why, but she went intending to follow him, only to be abruptly stopped by her own senses once she reached the turn even as she hid herself behind the small exit foot-way, gate of Delhi University. She popped her head a little, as her eyes landed on the famous sea green TVR Tuscan, him hugging it, like she once did causing her to smile in a foreign amusement, as she looked on at his genuine excitement, truly happy self, something yet again twisted inside her stomach.
He paused, just when he was about to get into his car, only to still his hand abruptly at the door knob and twist his head a little to his one side. Even as he did so, she hid herself more behind the gate, keeping her eyes on him and looked on as he nodded his head in a dismissing way, chuckling and finally getting into his car. She looked on coming in view from behind the gate at the fast vanishing blue image, as unknown uncertain sadness engulfed her. Dismissing the little disorientation of her mind, she turned around determined to walk away from whatever it was"---once and for all...
Or so she thought.
Khushi wondered holding the jacket close securely clutching the collar of the garment. The mere fact that what she felt today drove her back to this distant memory, which had no literal meaning for many years that followed after that, was something Khushi couldn't just ignore, like she always does. It wasn't the physical proximity, it wasn't the desire she witnessed, it was rather the emotion in his eyes that followed after that little tensed moment. It was his worried gaze, his uncertain longing look oblivious to his own self------ everything just took her back to all those years, where an innocent, nave girl felt something only to realize it was too late--- or rather too early.
And just like that various answers to her own why's started registering in her mind...
The reason why she felt immensely owed to the stranger college mate, who helped her..
The reason why the, non-figured, irrelevant familiarity with the Stranger on the terrace wall mattered to her as much as it did...
The reason why realizing the stranger was him, made her react the way she did...
The reason why there was an utmost need to be in his company, after her little mind involuntarily processed the links already...
The reason why not being able to be among his league mattered to her...
The reason why him being in trouble because of her troubled her as much as it did...
The reason why the knowledge of reasons for what he did mattered to her, and hence the uncertain little break-down...
And even as her mind juggled around the reasons, filling them in place accurately, her heart-beat increased, her stomach tingled indicating an unknown anticipation----- she closed her eyes again, remembering herself, standing behind that gate, leaning onto the wall, hiding from his view--- all those years ago, placing her own hand at the place of her heart, trying to figure out something---- &just like that her hand at the moment as well, on its own accord went to reside on the place of her heart trying to re-associate the feeling and when she did, it felt right.
As her heart and her insane mind continued to live in imaginary anticipation, her sane mind voiced its concerns--- No!
She snapped opened her eyes------You don't deserve to feel this way---
She nodded her head, her fears resuming-----You can't lead a normal life,...
She collapsed on her bed into a sitting position still clutching the garment------You might never be accepted...
Tears threatened to fill in her eyes------ He doesn't need this...
She gasped, swallowing the sudden lump caused by the mixed feelings--- back"off!
But somehow, the tingly, heart-beat-increasing, positive anticipation overpowered her sane mind, and she wanted to allow herself to feel the anticipation. She, for once, wanted to let it all go---
The feeling, the anticipation, the uncertain hope somehow gave her another kind of uncertain solace...
But then------------

She walked towards her little window, facing the sea, tears dropping from her eyes, her hands still tugging at the brown garment in her hand, and she opened the window intending to settle her thoughts only to be greeted by a familiar grey car quite different from the one in her memory and leaning onto it was Arnav with his one leg resting up from behind onto the car door and his hands neatly folded across his stomach. He was looking right at her window, with such serenity in his face, that after initial recovery from surprise and shock, she found herself smiling. Her eyes dried up and she looked down earnestly causing him to twist his serious concentrated serene face into a knowing smile.
Something communicated between their pairs of eyes even from that distance and they continued to smile, more through their eyes that were filled with the much needed quietude.
She then held up her hand, showing him his jacket that she had been holding, and flipped her head a little. Do you need this? She asked in her mind-------he nodded negatively, only a little, his lips curving up into a small smirk as he flipped his head again, Keep it, he replied.

He didn't know why he followed her even fetching his car on his way, but he did. He didn't know what he wanted to do once reaching her house, but his car screeched to a halt right in view of her window. He didn't know what he wanted to do, as he looked on at the illumination in the light, but he was determined, for what? He didn't have any answer. All he knew and all he saw was a pair of hazel eyes that looked at him a while ago, with such raw hope, nervousness, anticipation mixed with something else and it affected him. The mere juncture of emotions affected him in such a way that all he wanted to do was, have that affect on him again. See those very hazels look at him in that way again and go through that very rush of emotions--- again.
And so he waited there, not quite noticing how long, but he did, until the shadow of her, walked to the window, opened the glass doors and stood in his view, stilled. He recognized the jacket in her hand instantly and he didn't really want to ask any more questions, nor seek anymore reasons from his mind after seeing that. And so, having done with that little conversation with her, he turned around still smiling and sped away, into the highway adjoining the sea, with the world running behind across his window away from him and him advancing towards uncertainty, only intending to return not any sooner. Not until he figures out how far he could go, this time around.
When he returned the next day, almost in the late hours of the evening, he walked right ahead into his room, ignoring the talks in the living room, ignoring the casual greetings of people, innumerable interrogating questions of his sister, with his mind still occupied with a certain mysterious name, that meant"Happiness and as soon as he entered his room, closing the door shut behind him, the familiar lonely solace, or so he thought-----was no longer to be found, just as he expected. And instead a lively yet calm sight greeted him. He walked across the room towards the French large window taking the place where he was exactly standing not many nights ago, looking at his very own illusionary mind that started giving him weird yet amusing images, instantly bringing that much needed smile onto his face.
Sitting across the little fire place in the corner of his wooden room, dropping herself in the bean-bag, not quite leaning back, but sitting at the edge, bringing her knees to hug at her chest, wrapped in his pale brown leather jacket, with her hair let down the strands of which played with the wind outside, as she stared into the distance out of the window, Khushi looked serene and just exquisite.
He remembered himself keenly observing her, even as the tranquil smile continued to play on his lips...
He noticed her little moments of waving her hair off her head with a slight nod, holding the coffee mug inside both of her palms securely, bringing the mug close to her lips and sipping the foam before sniffing the aroma. He was enthralled to say the least...
He revisited the little warmth he felt looking keenly at her and just like that her presence lingered all over his room. And he was no longer alone in that aloof room. For good, or bad he didn't know, he wondered, yet losing his lonely serenity, felt good. More so, losing it to her felt right...
But then...
