CHAPTER-(X+6)...

Prithvi was going to kiss her,she realized..Anytime soon..But she had to stop him..She needed to talk to him..Meera thought as another shiver passed through her traitorous body,as Prithvi started placing light kisses up her throat..

Things were getting out of control,and she was losing..

"Prithvi please stop it!"Meera exclaimed out,and at the same time pulled herself out of Prithvi's hold.

Both stood panting,trying to catch their breath,as they stared at each other through still dazed eyes..Finally Meera broke the silence.

"NOW,can we talk please?"Her soft voice was almost drowned by the sound of the sky piercing thunder sounds,and torrential rain.Almost but not quiet.

Meera relaxed on seeing Prithvi nodding in agreement.And this time when she walked towards the divan,Prithvi quietly followed her.

"Why?"Meera asked,as soon as Prithvi seemed to relax on the divan.

"What do you mean why?!"Prithvi asked in confusion.

"Why didn't you contact me at all during those time you stayed in that house?Why didn't you try to meet me in secret even,if you where avoiding the eyes of the police?Why didn't you contact me through phone even,when I was alone and crying,and the whole family was weeping at your loss?Why weren't you here,when I was fighting everyone alone,trying to prove you are alive?!Why-"

"Meera..-"Prithvi's voice was already choked with guilt.

"NO!Let me finish!"Meera's eyes were burning with hurt,and anger,and they were already glistening..And her soft voice was almost broken,as she continued.."WHY Prithvi?Why when I found you again,you did not believe me,but you believed that..that Ishwar?!Why did you behave so badly with me all the time?!Why am I always treated like this by you Prithvi?!Why?!"She sobbed out,fighting to keep her emotions in check,as best as she could.

"Meera..Please.."Prithvi's voice was also broken,and he tried to console her,and extended his hands,to pull her into his arms,but was pushed away..Prithvi was really surprised by this act.."Meera..?"

Meera got up from the divan,and walked to the window,with bellowing curtains..Looking out at the thunderstorm,through the open windows opening into the garden..

Prithvi was at a loss,not knowing how to calm her,or answer the questions,which made him feel so guilty,right now..When her next sentence,fell like a bomb,in the room..

"I don't want consolation Prithvi..I want answers..You knew that..that..Shaluji wanted you..Didn't you?"

Meera had turned to face him,as if gouging his reaction..Prithvi did not know how to react at the question..

"I learned,when it was too late.."Prithvi answered solemnly,his heart squeezing,when he saw her hurt look..

"But you still stayed with her?!Stayed away from me?"

"I had promised her,I'll not leave until I find her husband for her..-"

"So you forgot the promise you made to me?!That you will never leave me alone?!That you will face all problems with me?!That you will stay by me,no matter what?!"Meera said softly,and quickly turned away,but just before she did so,Prithvi saw the lone tear escaping her eye..

Prithvi knew he had made a lot of mistakes..Had hurt Meera a lot,even though unintentionally..But mistakes were mistakes..He slowly walked upto her,and pulled her back into his arms..Her face now rested against his wide chest,as silent tears fell from her eyes..Prithvi could feel his own eyes prickling,with ready to fall tears,as he caressed her back..

"Meera..I know I made a lot of mistakes..-"

"You did not think it was important to keep the promise you made to me..Promise to her,was more important to you.."Meera sobbed into his chest,and tried to pull away from his arms,but Prithvi hugged her tighter..He let her sobs pierce into his heart..Let himself feel all the guilt he should be feeling,let the regret wash and claw at his being..

"I don't know how to say this Meera..But I did it for you..I know I should have done things differently..Should have left that house.."Prithvi drew in a shattered breath,his heart breaking,on hearing her sobs.."At that time,helping that woman out,who seemed lost at being away from her husband seemed the only way to get back to you..But I know now,in fact had realized it in the end,before I fell off that cliff,and lost my memory,that I should not have trusted her..I cannot change the past Meera..But I can only ask for your forgiveness..I can only ask you to punish me,for the sins I have done to you..For all the pains I caused you,ALL THE TIME..And you ALWAYS believed in me blindly..Whatever the situation was,you were ALWAYS there for me Meera.."Prithvi said in a choked voice..

"I really don't deserve such deep undying love Meera..I deserve to be punished,for trusting everyone but you..For believing in everyone but you..For breaking your heart repeatedly..For not keeping the promise I made to you..For staying away from you..I deserve the worst punishment,Meera.."He drew in a shattered breath,and pulled back Meera,and looked into her wet eyes..

"I cannot change the past Meera..But I can try to change the future..I cannot take away your pain,hurt and disillusion Meera,but I can try to heal your heart by loving you with all my heart and soul,with my every breath,each and every day of my remaining life.."Prithvi lowered his lips ,and gently kissed away the tears,as they fell down her cheeks.."I cannot make you forget the past Meera,but I can try to keep you distracted each and every second of your life with endless happiness..I cannot change the person I am,but I can try to change myself for you..I can promise to be with you from now on,and trust you first and foremost from now on,and for my past misdeeds..For those I know,I cannot ask your forgiveness..And nor do I deserve it..So.. "

Prithvi knelt down on his knees,and held his ears,as he looked up at her with liquid tear filled eyes..

"I am ready to accept whatever punishment you will give me..Please punish me Meera?I had promised you I won't hurt myself ever again..But I can't live with myself,if you don't punish me for all the pains I caused you..For every drop of tear that fell from your eyes because of me..Please punish me?"

Meera sobbed out,and pushed his hands away from his ears,and tried to pull him up..

"Please don't do this Prithvi?"Meera said with in a choked whisper..She kept pulling at him,when Prithvi finally complied,and Meera threw herself into his arms..

"Just promise me,you won't leave my side,no matter what happens..?"

Prithvi hugged her back tightly,and tenderly moved his cheek across her hair,as the long held back tears fell down his eyes..

"I promise.."Prithvi's voice was raspy already with clogged emotions..

They hugged each other tightly,both trying to calm their emotions,as the storm outside only seemed to increase in its intensity..

Finally Meera tried to calm herself,and lighten the atmosphere a bit..Still resting her cheek against his chest,she whispered..

"Rahul was more romantic you know?"

Instantly she felt Prithvi's grip on her tautening,as he pulled her face up to look into it..

"What did you just say?!"He asked with a deep frown.."Is this Rahul guy real?!"

Meera's expression was one of shock and irritation..And Prithvi's frown deepened at her look..His rage,taking over him..

"Of course he is real!Why would I lie?!He was such a romantic!"Meera said ,as she pulled herself away from his arms,and looked away..

Prithvi clenched his hand into tight fists..

"Why do you say he is a romantic?How do you know?"Prithvi tried to keep his voice normal.but it was getting tougher by each passing second..Meera hid her smile,and peeped at the enraged look on his face..

"The weather!He once.."

Suddenly Meera whirled around..And before Prithvi could understand what she was about,she opened the door..Prithvi was completely taken aback..

Meera ran out from the bedroom while Prithvi called her back..

"MEERA!STOP!WHERE ARE YOU GOING?!"

Rain was pouring on the dark figure..He took out the gun,and aimed at a picture that he had taken out..The figure chuckled loudly and shook his head,and then replaced both the picture and the gun,back inside his cloak..His destination was near now..He was almost there...

PRECAP:

Prithvi stood at the door to the roof,when he saw Meera getting wet in the rain..His heart beat fast,as he saw her wet form..

The lights were on in the room..So his prey was awake..The dark cloak figure thought to himself,with another loud chuckle,as he stood outside in the rain..

"This will be fun..I'm already enjoying this.."The figure chuckled in a menacing way again,and patted the gun in his pocket again...
