Part 13a
When the ETF team got home to Shantivan that night Arnav was standing at the door. "Shyam's here." Khushi took one look at Arnav's face and knew what was waiting inside the house. Everyone just stood there for a second. They all had planned well for this case and for normal cases they were ever-ready. But, this time it was different. Khushi was one of them now and they were about to face the monster who had troubled her. Fear was dripping in the air and noone especially wanted to go and confront it in that moment.
"Okay, so Khushi and Arnav should go in first so we can stand outside and observe Shyam's reaction to her." Rathod was the first one to shake off the silence. He was as scared as the rest of them since Khushi had made a special place in his heart but he knew that the true way to help her would be to get rid of this Shyam for once and for all.
Arnav and Khushi were ushered inside by Rathod and they stood at the door, thinking. Arnav was nervous and looked at Khushi, who was still staring at the ground. He nudged her and she looked up. Arnav saw a fear in her eyes that had been missing since she had reentered his life. He saw a glimpse of the old, weak Khushi who he had managed to forcefully marry and grab her hand to bring her in through that very door. Shaking the bad thoughts of the past out of his mind, Arnav decided that it was his time to take the backseat and be the one following Khushi's lead. He took Khushi's hand slowly and they both looked at each other. They remembered their entrance in the house after the forced marriage but this time their hands tied them in a deep bond of mutual trust and faith that hadn't been forced.
Outside, the team had started waiting and watching from the window. They looked at Shyam sitting with Anjali. This was the first time Rathod, Shree, and Chotu had seen Shyam in person. Rathod noticed a bit of disinterest in Shyam whenever Anjali got near him and felt a pang of anger. Shree tripped over some wires and looked at them suspiciously before snapping back into attention. Riya just stood, looking at nothing in particular, wondering how this mission was going to turn out. Khushi had been through so much because of that man sitting inside and she didn't want anything to happen to her in the ongoings of this case. Arjun came up behind Riya and patted her once on the back. Riya looked up at him surprised as he keenly observed the happenings in the house. She slowly turned her head to the scene in front of her as Arnav and Khushi walked in hand-in-hand.
"You?! What are you doing here?! I thought you would have been at least a little ashamed as to not come back. And Arnav, you're also supporting her?" Shyam looked shocked as soon as he saw Khushi. He looked a little worried too but soon started yelling at Khushi. He didn't know whether Khushi knew that he had killed her child and he didn't want her to spend enough time in the house to find out.
"It would be better if YOU wouldn't teach me about shame JIJAJI" Khushi talked back before Arnav had a chance to. Arnav stood back to let Khushi fight for her rights. He looked shocked at her addressing Shyam as Jijaji and smirked as soon as he saw Shyam's angry face.
"Don't call me jijaji! Don't try to keep a relationship with me!" Shyam couldn't stand the sound of being like a brother to Khushi. Even after everything Khushi had done to him, he still loved her. He was still waiting for her to realize that he had done everything for her. He knew she would come around one day but for that day he tried to put her off by giving a reason not-so-obvious.
Arjun, Riya, Rathod and the others entered. Shyam recognized Arjun and Riya from the day they had come to visit Arnav six months ago. He got nervous and started backing away slowly. Arjun noticed this and smirked. "Khushi. You had left your gun and holster in the car." Rathod spoke pointedly at Shyam and Khushi smiled slightly as she saw Shyam look back and forth from the gun to her. "Yes Jijaji. I am in the ETF team. So watch out." With that said, Khushi went upstairs followed by Rathod, Arjun, Arnav, and Riya. Shree and Chotu stayed back to invite everyone to the wedding to which they agreed.
