ARNAV

"What are you two talking about?" I asked them.

They looked at each other confused. I was confused too.

"Are you both hiding something from me?" I questioned them facing Khushi.

She looked at me for a while and then turned back to face Rishabh.

"Arnav" Rishabh started in a tone that meant he would not say anything

"Rishabh tell me. I heard you both speak about not telling me something. What is that you are hiding from me?"

Rishabh did not offer me any answers so I turned to Khushi.

"Khushi?"

"Arnav..."

"Tell me Khushi." I urged.

"I can't Arnav"

"Why can't you?

"Arnav please try to understand. I really want to but they made me promise that I won't tell you"

"They? Who do you mean by they'?"

"Arnav please..."

"I told you. They made me..." I cut her off before she finished her statement.

"I know that damn it" I said hitting the wall nearby.

"Arnav, I'm really really sorry. It is not my secret to tell" she said to me and turned to where Rishabh was.

"Rishabh?" She asked me.

"He left a few seconds ago"

"Oh..." she didn't say anything after that.

She seemed tensed. I was certain the she was hiding something from me but I dint know what and why. I was about to enquire further but her face begged me not to and so I did not push further.

I left the room searching for Rishabh.

RISHABH

I managed to escape when Arnav was interrogating Khushi. I knew I did not have much time because Arnav would come searching for me any second from now.

I searched for my mobile in my pockets. As soon as I found it, I called Samar. He would not pick up the call. I tried and tried. Finally, on the tenth ring of the fourth call he answered.

"Rishabh, you won't even allow me to bathe?"

"Shut up Sam and listen to me"

"What happened? Is everything alright?"

"Yes and No"

"What do you mean by that bro?'

"Well you need to know that I and Khushi didn't do a great job in keeping your secret. Arnav hasn't found out yet but will soon."

"What? You can't tell him Rishabh" I know he panicked. He clearly did not want Arnav to know.

"I won't, but you will have to"

"But..."

"No buts. You will have to. Else it will create lots of problems in our lives."

I heard some sound behind me but chose to ignore it.

"Did something happen in between Arnav and Khushi?" He questioned me.

"Not yet, but will soon if you choose to keep quiet"

"Ooh... Is that so?"

"Well, meet me at our regular place now"

"Now?"

"Within an hour"

"Arnav will be there too?"

"Yes"

"Okay then bye"

"Be ready"

I cut the call and turned around to face an angry Anya.

"Who was that?" She asked me.

"What?"

"I asked to whom were you talking to over the phone"

"Why is that important?"

"Rishabh I want answers, not questions. I want to know whom you are planning to meet this late at night."

"So you doubt me? I was talking to Samar" I cannot just blame her for doubting me. I was the one behaving strangely.

"I don't believe that. If it was him you could have straight away answered instead of asking that questions and who are you hiding from?" she asked me.

"Anya, can I talk to you later? There are bigger problems than this now and yeah I was hiding from Arnav."

"Rishu please" She was back to her normal behaviour.

"Anya, you can check my phone if you want. Call him and ask him whether he was talking to me or not. He'll tell you."

"Rishu I believe you were talking to Sam. Now please tell me what is going on between you Khushi and Arnav."

"It's all about Sam and I can't tell that to you right now"

"Oh... I see. The same thing Khushi wouldn't tell me about?"

"Maybe"

"But..."

"No buts Anya dear. I'll tell you when Sam is okay with that."

"Fine then" She said and I gave her a light kiss on the lips before I left the room.

As I went out of the room with Anya close behind me, I saw Arnav walking towards me.

"Rishabh tell me what is going on. What are you keeping away from me?"

While I was thinking about what to say to him, he turned towards Anya.

"Anya, at least you tell me, please?"

"Arnav I would have told you if I knew anything. I'm sorry, my knowledge about this is a very big zero"

"Arnav" I finally opened my mouth in front of him.

"Rishabh please" He rather begged.

As I was about to open my mouth again, his phone rang.

"Niveda, tell me" He said into the phone.

I saw his facial expressions change from curious to worry.

"Tonight?" He asked.

"Within three hours? Nivi are you serious?"

She might have said yes to that question. It was a difficult task to find out what was going on after listening to only one side of the conversation.

"Well I'll be there..." His sentence did not find its way to the end.

"Okay I'll be at the airport" He paused for a while.

"Khushi? I'll try"

"Bye, take care" He said before he cut the call.

"What happened Arnav?" I asked him. Khushi too had joined us.

"Niveda and Liam are leaving for Sydney"

"What? But why?"

"Apparently there is some emergency back there and Liam needs to be there. Nivi wants to be with him and so they are leaving tonight."

"Tonight?" I was shocked on hearing that. That explains his expression earlier when he was on the phone.

"Yup and Khushi she wants to meet you before she leaves." He said as he turned to face her.

"Arnav I too want to meet her, but what about dad? Will you ask him?" Khushi asked.

"What about me dear?" Khushi's dad asked us appearing from nowhere.

When did he come? Did he hear anything? Well it seems I am the one in tension.

"Actually uncle since an emergency came up my sister and her husband has to leave for Sydney tonight and she wants to meet Khushi before she leaves. So we were wondering if you could allow me to take Khushi out now" Arnav spoke confidently.

"But Arnav beta..." He started but Arnav was impatient so he cut him off. I knew him very well to understand his actions but Khushi's dad did not know that.

"Uncle I know it is very late. I assure you that I will bring her back safe. You have my word."

"What about you Anya? Are you going too?" He asked turning to face my fiance.

"If you would allow dad, then I would like Anya to accompany me too. Anyways she has to go back to her house tonight." Khushi said and I was hoping that he would allow her to come too. I was accompanying Arnav and that was final.

"Okay, Anya can go too. But you have to go back tonight?" That question was directed at Anya.

"Yeah dad I have to work tomorrow"

"Okay beta. Take care. I'll be waiting will you get back Khushi."

"Okay dad"

I needed to inform Sam that we would be late.

"Shall I call Sam too?" I asked Arnav.

"Yeah why not" He said.

He started speaking as soon as he attended the call.

"I'll be there in twenty minutes." He said not bothering to know for what I had called him.

"No wait. First, let me speak. Come to the airport. Niveda and Liam are leaving tonight. They have an emergency there"

"Okay"

"So you are coming there right?"

"Okay I'll be there"

"Bye" I said before I cut the call.

"He is coming too" I said looking at the others.

Arnav sat in the passenger seat while the girls sat quietly at the back as I drove to the airport.

I was confused with all the things that were happening around me. I was in no mood to speak and that was until I met Niveda and Liam. Sam was already there talking to Liam.

"Finally you guys are here." Nivi said hugging me.

"You are leaving so soon?"

She looked at me. One look at her face and I knew that she was sad too.

"I'm sorry Arnav I'm taking her back soon. I can't be without her and the case is same with her. Back home things are important too" Liam said handing over the car keys to me.

"It's okay, I can understand." I said.

They had packed only a small bag for the trip. There was no need to pack much as they were going back to their home.

"Hey Khushi, come with me" Nivi said as she pulled Khushi out from the gang and took her to a corner.

They were having some serious discussion. I wanted to join them too, but there were things, more important on my mind.

After a while of talking, both of them returned. Soon it was time for us to say bye to them. We stood there waving at them until they disappeared into the crowd.

"Rishabh, tell me now at least"

"I will. But not here"

"Where then?"

"We will meet at our garden, thirty minutes from now"

"Okay"

Khushi came with me in my car while Anya went with Rishabh. I had not even acknowledged Sam's presence.

As I parked next to Rishabh's car, I turned to Khushi to see her smile at me. I gave her a faint smile in return.

I saw the three of them standing there next to the white lilies. Sam turned to us as we approached them.

"Arnav" Sam said as he came to me.

"Sam you are here? I didn't know you were coming"

"Arnav we won't be able to say anything without him being here." Rishabh said to me.

Khushi moved closer to me and held my hand as Rishabh said that.

"He is the one who doesn't have any restriction to speak." Khushi said to me but I didn't respond to that and instead kept on looking at Sam.

"Sam, tell me what is this all about?"

"Arnav, I don't know what you will think about me. I am sorry I kept this away from you. The truth should not have come out. Last night when I told you why I went away without any explanation, you were shocked hearing the news of my mom's death and so did not notice the little lie I told you. Rishabh saw through me and he found out that there was more to it and Khushi overheard our conversation."

"Sam, come to the point please. What about your past are you hiding from me?"

"Okay. Let me get it straight. The girl I loved. You know her"

"Niveda? It was her right?" I asked him.

Sam's eyes grew wide. So did Khushi's and Rishabh's.

"You knew already? How?" Sam and Rishabh looked towards Khushi.

"No Sam I did not tell him anything."

"Don't look at her. She did not tell me anything." I told them.

"Then how do you know?" Sam asked me.

"I knew it from the time you started crushing on her. We were all somewhere around the age of 14 right?"

"You knew it from then? You never asked me or told me to stay away from her"

"That was because of two reasons. First, I knew you didn't have the guts to tell her and second, even if you told her I knew you wouldn't hurt her.

"Arnav, you seriously knew?" Rishabh asked me.

"Yeah. Remember I used to spend a lot of time with him and I can understand him very well. Even when he told us about the girl he loved I had Niveda in mind, then I thought maybe he had moved on thinking that that was just a crush. Now I know that he lied."

"I should have told her."

"Yeah. You know something Sam, I sometimes wonder how she failed to understand that, but again at some point I felt that the feelings were mutual. I brushed off tht thoughts when Liam came into the picture."

Sam just nodded.

"Arnav, if you knew that the why did you want Nivi to tie a Rakhi on Sam's hands?"

"Again because of the lie he told. I loved Sam like a brother and so..."

"So guys the thing is I'm the only one who is shocked to know all these things. All others knew everything" Anya spoke for the first time after she left home.

"Yup" The four of us spoke together.

"So this was the big thing you were trying to hide from me?"

"Sorry" Both of them started together but stopped as they looked at me.

"What?" I asked.

"Having fun making us feel guilty?" Rishabh asked me.

I smirked in return.

"Don't even think of that." He continued.

"Hey guys it is getting late. My parents will be waiting. I need to go home." Khushi said.

"Yeah right. Arnav you would drop her home?" Anya asked me.

"Of course" I replied.

After saying our byes we climbed to my car and buckled up. Khushi was unusually silent.

"Hey why are you not talking?" I asked her

"What do you mean?"

"I mean what I said"

"What do you mean by not talking? Am I that talkative?"

"Of course, you never seem to shut your mouth otherwise."

"And what is your problem with that? You want me to talk or not?"

I knew she was getting irritated and I was enjoying the moment.

"You are very talkative and I love it when you talk non-stop."

"Oh really?"

"Yeah really" I said with a smile.

"Tell me, why are you silent?" I continued.

"Arnav, I'm sorry. I had to hide that from you."

"It is completely fine Khushi. They made you promise and you were keeping your promise. There is nothing wrong in that. In fact, I would have been mad at you if you had not kept the promise."

"So you don't have a problem?"

"No sweet heart"

"Thank you"

"You are not welcome. First, I want to know what Niveda told you at the airport."

"Niveda?"

"Ms. Khushi Gupta, don't act smart with me. Don't tell me that it is a secret too."

"Well that exactly isn't a secret, but I don't want to tell you that."

"Why?" I turned to face her.

"Eyes n the road Mr. Raizada"

I turned again and repeated the question.

"Because I don't want to" was her reply.

"Khushi, you have to. Please"

"Please? Are you begging me Arnav?"

"Khushi, just tell me what she told you"

"Nothing you don't know"

"Khushi?"

"Okay. She just told me that you loved me very much and that I need to take good care of you else she would kill me with her bare hands when she returns."

"She said that? That is my sweet sister and what she told is true. I Love you"

"I know that and I love you too"

I smiled at her.

"You know Arnav, I'm very happy today because I'm not hiding anything from you. I was feeling guilty whenever I saw you after I agreed to keep the secret.

"That is nice to know" I commented.

She glared at me while I parked the car.

"Why did you stop?"

"I stopped because we have reached your home. "

"OMG, I didn't know"

As we got out of the car, she hurried to ring the bell.

"Khushi, wait" I called.

"Yeah Arnav... What happened?"

"Before you go in I have something to give you"

"What is it?"

Instead of answering her question, I pulled her towards me. I bent forward, pressing my lips against hers. I could feel her getting excited and she responded by parting her lips immediately.

I pushed her against the wall nearby and continued to kiss her. We heard footsteps coming towards the door and we pulled apart, straightening out our clothes.

She rang the bell and the door opened soon. He dad stood in front of us.

"I hope we are not too late" I said to him.

"You are on time."

"Thanks"

"Are you coming in?" He asked me.

"No uncle. I have to go. It is already late. See you soon. Good night."

"Good night beta, drive safe"

"Bye, Good night" I smiled at Khushi before I started the car.

It was a long and tiring day and I was happy and sad too. I was happy to have my girlfriend's parents approval and sad because my sister had to leave.
