Chapter#8

He was looking for chances now but she just didnt seem to move from the group of her friends. He looked for opportunities, his ASR brain wanted to come out with something but he couldnt think of anything.

As few minutes turned into another half hour, he stood there, in the corner, in the dark sipping his drink.

But then, he saw a random girl come up and whisper something into her ear and she immediately excused herself and went to the kitchen. Yes, now was his chance and thats exactly what he did. He kept the glass aside and took quick and big steps towards the kitchen.

He had no idea what he would say to her, how he had to apologize, what he would clear to her and from wher he would start but he had to do this.

And then when he reached, he saw her back towards him.

There I go, he thought.

"Khushi..."

He saw her stiffen. He saw her stop what she was doing and think for a second and he knew this would be so much more difficult then it already was.

Khushi turned.

"Oh Arnav, what are you doing here?" -she slightly smiled, acting all normal.

"I wanted to talk to you, about some...things." -Arnav said nervously. He had never been so nervous, nobody could make him nervous.

"Oh sorry, but I really have to rush to a few things, maybe later." -Khushi smiled again.

He felt his temper rise. No, I wouldnt let this happen. I will talk to her and that will happen right now.

As Khushi tried to walk past him with a tray in her hand, he held her arm gently. He didnt want to make matters worse.

"Khushi you have to listen to me... Its about what happened after you left." -He said softly.

And everything came back to Khushi. The hurt, the rejected feeling and then when she looked him in the eyes, she melted. She wanted to listen to what he had to say, she wanted to know what did the other girl have and she did not. She wanted to tell him how much she had missed him and how much she had suffered all alone without anyone understanding her. She wanted him to know how hard it was for her to leave him behind. And how hard to was for her to come back here.

"Look, Arnav... It's all past. I've moved on and you should too." -Khushi said masking her hurt.

And she saw him twitch a little, she saw the same hurt in his eyes which was in hers, the last time she had seen herself in the mirror after she had cried the whole night because of him.

She felt his hold loosen a bit.

"You don't want to hear me out?" -He said straightly.

"No, I don't. I don't want to hear you out. I am busy." -Khushi said as she focused onto something behind Arnav.

"Tumhe koyi farak nahi parta?" - He asked.

"Koyi farak nahi parta." -She said. It was more to herself, as if trying to tell herself that she didnt care.

"Dekhlein gay." -He whispered near her face.

And he let her go.

This was the one time where he just didnt feel loved. Now he knew what a one-sided love felt like. He felt alone.

Khushi had quickly rushed out of the kitchen with her heart beat reaching new heights. It was the same as before. She was affected by him then and more now.

Khushi kept looking back, to see if he was coming. She wanted to run. Where her heart was uncertain about his attitude, it was also satisfied that he wanted to explain. But she was definitely going to play hard to get. She will tell him how it feels like when a person you love doesnt give you the needed attention.

Love? But she wasn't sure if he loved her.. She felt uncertain again. Whatever may it be, he wanted to explain and she wouldn't be easy.

She wouldnt let him get around so easily but then she was Khushi... A Khushi who couldnt stay mad at someone for more than an hour. She felt guilty but she would still let him know how hurt she was.

As the party started to end, Khushi was glad. She wouldnt have to face him and she wouldnt feel the mixed feelings of love and hate for him.

Where as Arnav was very annoyed at the party being ended so early although it was past 11; he was never a party person but this time it was Khushi. He wanted to stay; he wanted to stay close to her.

As if his wish were granted, Lavanyas family had stopped the Raizadas from leaving, asking them to stay a little while more.

They all sat in the living room, all tried and exhausted after the wonderful party. Arnav sat right opposite to Khushi so that he could see her but much to his annoyance Aryaan sat right next to Khushi. He kept talking to her, smiling at her and Arnav was there right in front of them feeling invisible. And hurt.

After sometime, Khushi excused herself to go upstairs to change. As she left, few minutes later Aryaan followed her to her bed-room.

"Khushi may I come in if you've changed?" -He asked as he stood by the closed door.

"Yes." -He heard a whisper.

"Khushi... why are you crying Khushi?" -He asked as he panicked and almost ran up to her.

She had changed into her pajamas and had sat by the window and cried.

"It's... nothing... " -She quickly wiped the big drops of tears on her cheeks. "Its just that Lavanya's getting married and I just..." -A sob escaped her lips.

"Khushi, I have a feeling that's not really all of it." -He whispered while hugging her comfortably.

Khushi pulled back and looked up in his eyes.

"It's your brother." -She said.

My lovely dolls! Sorry, I could only manage this much. :/ Maths just got me today and I had to study. ._. Sorry!

Okay now the story, if you remember the last lines of the prologue, "A tale of one-sided Love, heartbreak, regret and seeing the person you're falling in love with spending time with your own brother." This? Remember? This was all Arnav. I hope the prologue makes sense now. And for those who would think Aryaan is going to fall for Khushi or Khushi will fall for Aryaan then nothing as such would happen. Something else will which you'll know by the next chapter. ^_^ And yes, Arnav will woo her. So don't worry and this will end by Chapter 11 or 12 maybe. *I really hope so* :P If any questions please ask, I'll totally reply if I get time tomorrow. :D
