He drove aimlessly in the dark of night. The mansion was way too frail to constrict him n he was too tormented to remain there. The walls were closing in on him n he felt suffocated.
It wasn't his mistake; it was that idiotic heart that resided in his chest. He wanted to clutch n squeeze it out of himself. Why??? Why couldn't he just stop loving her? The question he had asked himself again n again over the past 6 yearsā¦. every time he had to hurt himself, every time he saw that pained look on Shreya face, every time he cried, every time he wished to die n every time he saw Jia's face n felt a pang for snatching her mother. Shreya's father was right he had killed her.
He didn't want to. Never in his life he wanted to hurt someone, he wasn't just that kind of person. Still he did it. Although, it was out of his control, to stop thinking about Geet, to place someone else in her place because she was everywhere, in each corner, embedded in him. His dad tricked him n didn't he tell Shreya that he loved Geet. He told n explained it to himself yet couldn't get over the fact that when Geet wasn't there n he had come to believe that she wasn't in his destiny; he didn't give Shreya even a single chance.
She could have lived.
Instead like a fool, he kept loving her. Those initial horrible day. She remained in his head every time, at days⦠n he couldn't sleep at nights. When exhaustion used to push his eyelids down, she would be there in his dreams smiling, laughing, so beautiful. God! How much he wanted her, just a glimpse, just a chance to explain. Did she give him that? No.
Then Shreya betrayed him. Not to him but to the world she was his damn wife and he was a man of pride. All other was lost to him. He had not bound her to himself, she was allowed to go. If she wanted to leave then she should have left. He was a miserable, f**ked up man. And Shreya contributed into his destruction, she played with him more by warming another man's bed being his lawful wife.
How could he trust in anyone after that? He hated women, because since childhood they left him when he needed them the most, they all betrayed him. Everyone he loved just played their part in murdering him.
But melting his heart, she blew life in his broken heart and trust again.
And today, when he had thought he had found his Geet. The light of his life, the song of his melancholy fate⦠when he thought he could be happy with her again, that his life would be something more than a punishment⦠she did the same. She cheated him⦠with another man. But there was a difference. Geet was his; she was supposed to be his. Then why she had to do this? He wanted to give her happiness⦠everything, he was ready to do for her. Where did he lack that again she didn't give him a chance to prove that he could fulfill all her needs.
Now only he noticed that there wasn't any blood stains after their night together just a bit discomfort n he had been so careful, thinking that his Geet might get hurt because it was her first time. What was wrong with him?
Maan stopped the car n came out of it. He wanted to move ahead but his legs were heavier. On the deserted road he sank down. It was so similar, hadn't he felt this thousand other times then why he was hurting so much more. Just thinking about Geet with another man. The woman he loved with every ounce of his being, so madly, didn't love him. Why she played with him? Why she made him see the picture differently? Why didn't she break his heart in the way she knew to do?
Instead she awakened this hope in him, hope in his heart which was torn n wounded for six years, which carved for her love. Another desire, one more wish, a second chance⦠all of this was just her ploy to destroy him completely. He wiped the tears that had poured out of his eyes unknowingly. She made him shed tears; she made Maan Singh Khurana weak. She didn't deserve it.
His hand met the glass window n blood seeped out. Unfortunately it didn't hurt n he wretched open the door to seek his answers.
She had hurt him again. Geet laughed. That was what she always presented him with. She cried. Like he did, she couldn't make him a room; she had nothing with her that was his, his memories. She just had this thin thread of life⦠the line between breath n mortality n she was walking towards her death. Who would he love when she wouldn't be there? Who would hurt him then?
He could live in peace.
Staring down at the sharp cut on her palm, she didn't feel the satisfaction. She fisted her finger n pulled the hand before her blank eyes. Red, warm liquid coated the floor, butā¦.
The blood wasn't enough.
And her death shouldn't be easy. He thought she was carrying someone else's baby. What good life would do now? Did he feel the same when she had accused him of loving n marrying someone else? Life came around in full circle n now she was getting what she had given him. She didn't have the right to live. Because she knew how much it was paining, like something was crawling inside her, something vicious, paralyzing her, crushing her chest so that there was no air, no sane thoughts just everlasting emptiness.
She picked up the knife to cut below her elbow and proceeding down towards her delicate wrist. Gushing n smiling, she felt excitement pass in rushed ripples over her as the knife went closer n closer to her lifeline with each gash.
The consolation was that she would die in her room. His gift to her.
The lights came on n she placed her hands over her face as the sudden glow stung her eyes.
With blood covering the space around her she was sitting on the floor. Maan had walked into their room. Geet wasn't there n Jia wasn't in her room either. He guessed that Annie must have taken Jia to sleep with her. About Geet he asked from Nakul, an angry roar from Maan n he confessed that she was in the room where no one was allowed to go. As he walked towards that room, more anger pumped from inside his chest to scatter around his whole form. He hadn't entered that room since almost four years.
Geet knew about that room? The thought confused him; butā¦
It wouldn't weaken him. It would just remind him how insane he had been n how much she had made him suffer⦠then n now.
When he was entering the room he hadn't expected to see her like that. She heard him on the second call n stopped him by showing a hand which wasn't wounded like the other one but still had stains of red nonetheless. A crazy yet calm, serene smile twisted on her face. Don't worry. I am saving you. With the assurance, the smile became a sad one then disappeared altogether. She took the knife again to continue what she was doing.
Either she didn't hear him or she pretended not to when he called her name to stop her. Maan launched towards her and in a moment of haste n utmost anxiety he slapped her before she could do more damages. His hand curled around the knife n he threw it away before she could understand what he intended.
You slapped me? She asked more stated with surprise in her voice. Not the cuts, all the blood⦠his slap was most painful. And what were you doing? He held her shoulder n shook her not believing that he was so scared of losing her when she was actually never with him. She understood his dilemma n took his hands placing them on her neck. Aapka haq hai⦠aap mujhe khatam kar sakte hai.
He yanked his hands back somewhere wishing he could do that. Although the truth was just for another breath of hers he could give his life.
Was it another ploy, another drama? Come on I will dress your wounds. Thankfully he came at right time n so she hadn't hurt herself much. But still the blood was lost more than she could afford, she was already so weak and⦠it pained him immensely to even think about her pregnancy, her betrayal.
First she thought it was her blood then noticed it wasn't hers, it was his. Aapko chot lagi hai⦠Stating the obvious she tenderly held his hand. Tears came into her eyes but he couldn't believe them, couldn't place his trust in them. Maan smiled ironically. Bahut chot lagi hai Geet. Par tum pehle apne bare me socho. Kamse kam apne bacche ka toh khayal kia hota. He said spitefully. Jo aapka nai wo mera kaise ho sakta hai. She thought sadly coming out of her madness n drowning in pain again. Yeh baccha sirf mera nai hai-
Mujhe nai janna yeh kiska bachcha hai. He roared standing up n turning away from her. He didn't want to see her face when she took that bas***d's name for the fear that he would see love in her eyes when she spoke of him. The love she was talking about to Meera when he had overheard them. Mujhe bas yeh janna hai ke tumne mere saath aisa kyu kia.
Coming in front of him she wanted to hold his face but thought better of it, taking her hands back from mid air. Her hands were dirty. But her simple retreat hurt him more than she could ever imagine. Maine kuch nai kia Maan. Mai maanti hu maine galti ki jab mai aapko chod ke gaiā¦
Aur yeh tum aaj kyu keh rai ho. Tumhe hamesha lagta tha na ke mai Shreya se pyaar karta hu. You thought I was going to marry her. Even after our marriage you thought that I had married her out of my own wish. Why you think differently today? Is it because you saw this room? Kya issi wajah se tum mere paas aayi, ke iss bechare ko bhi mai kuch de du taki isse bura na lage. Is that why you slept with me? Out of pity?
