Chapter#18

Arnav's POV

As I got into the room, I thought I'd explode of anger. How could I let this happen? How could I fall for her charms? Everybody saw it and tomorrow they'll overreact about it.

This isn't anger, its embarrassment – My heart said.

I can't believe this. I have to stay away from her. You know you won't be able to Arnav – My heart said. Dammit. Why is this happening? I can't let this happen. Khushi will come up and talk to me about it too. I slammed my fist on to the sliding doors of the pool side.

It did feel good, Arnav. Don't let that stupid mind rule over yourself. You know you've never felt this way for Lavanya. Face it! – My heart believed.

No, never ever!

I slammed my fist once again. I heard the door open with a creak and I was about to shout as I thought it was Khushi but it wasn't. I saw Nk at the door with folded arms and a teasing smile playing on his lips.

"Nannav, I told you so." –He winked at me.

"Before you continue, just get lost." –I said as I took a deep breathe in.

"I told you, you'll like her. You know husband-wife should be opposite that's how relationships work. I mean that's what I believe. You don't know Khushi yet Arnav. Come on! The song 'Just the way you are' describes her so well. The way she smiles, the whole world stops and stares for a while. Really man, I ain't joking." –Nk said and patted Arnav's shoulder with a wide smile in his lips.

"Shut up Nk." –I said. I was about to say something but Nk cut me off.

"Tu janta hai yaar, Lavanya? She puts on so much makeup and still isn't beautiful. And Khushi, she doesn't even use makeup yet she is so pretty." –Nk said dreamily.

I don't know why but the moment I saw that dreamy look, it made me want to punch him in the face, I felt… jealous.

"Oh God, Nannav, look at your face." –Nk took me by my shoulders and brought me in-front of the mirror. "You see that look? You want to punch me in the face don't you? It's called jealousy." –Nk smiled a victorious smile.

I don't get. He always does this thing. He always reads my mind. How the hell does he do that? I shook the thought off my head. I opened my mouth to say some thing but he cut me off again.

"Na-Ah-Ah. Let me speak. You can't do this to her. Plus were you blind when you asked Lavanya out? I mean what the F*ck? Yuck." –Nk shuddered in disgust.

"Enough Nk I don't want to hear anything from you anymore. Go away, I have to sleep." –I turned to the bed. Nk tapped on my shoulder.

"You're in a hurry. Suhaag raat manani hai?" –He bloody winked at me again. I turned to him angrily and he just ran off like a child while he stuck his tongue out.

"Unbelievable man." –I whispered and sat on the bed with my face in my hands. "Why is this happening to me?"

Nk knew how to tackle Arnav. He always said the rights things because he knew what ever he said would stay put in Arnav's mind no matter what. He was his best-friend and they'd always be together, there was nothing that Nk didn't know of. All his habits, the way his mind worked, everything. The things Nk said were for a purpose, he knew he'd think about it. Now all they needed was a solid proof against Lavanya and making him fall for Khushi.

Nobody's POV

After a while Khushi came up. Arnav was ready for the outburst and the questions she'd shoot at him but the great ASR knew how to shut her up but she said nothing. She went up to her suitcase and opened it up, knowing very well that he had his eyes on her. She took her night suit out, a pink one. She walked up to the dressing table, took her jewelry off and went straight to the washroom to change without sparing a glance at Arnav.

Arnav was fuming; she just ignored him like he wasn't even sitting there. How dare she? In just another 10 minutes she came out. Arnav noticed that she was without makeup now. Nk's words echoed inside his head.

She is even pretty without makeup. –Arnav thought. Shit man! What in the world was he thinking?

He saw her walk over to the bed and took the quilt and a pillow; she walked outside sliding the door shut. Khushi made her bed quickly and got in.

In your face, Laad governor! I know you'd be burning now. –Khushi thought and smiled. In days she hadn't smiled but after Nk being here she felt all good.

Next Day

"Di, look Arnav's trying to escape to the office." –Nk said as he got down the stairs followed by Arnav who rolled his eyes.

"Chote, you got married yesterday, remember?" –Anjali said with wide eyes.

"Di look, no arguments. Akash is off for one week and there is loads of work. I can't risk it." –Arnav said in a breath and left so that he wouldn't have to answer any questions.

Nk was glad that he would be gone for a while. He thought he would get time to talk to Khushi, also make a plan against Lavanya.

Khushi had just adjusted the wardrobe, putting her clothes aside. She wasn't afraid of him; she was strong like she had always been. She looked around the room with a satisfied smile. Her bright sunny-yellow blanket was on one side of the bed, the bright orange pillow which had black dots on it was kept right beside Arnav's grey, dull, pillows. The side table which had an off-white coloured lamp was now decorated by golden-pink fairy lights. Also where she slept last-night was covered with small sized fairy-lights too. The poolside had been pretty dark last night and the leaves of the flora were moving from the slight wind.

She sat by the poolside with the plate of Jalebi she had made last night and her diary. She sighed and opened it up; she put the tip of the pen in between her teeth thinking from where she should start.

Dear Diary,

Now that I am married to the Hitler aka Laad Governor, I have almost taken over his room. When he comes back at night and sees this he'll freak out. I hadn't expected myself to be this way but I guess life takes sudden turns. I love it when he is annoyed. It satisfies me. I am going to torture him so much that he'll try to get rid of me and I'll be free. Even last night, the look on his face clearly told me he is annoyed because I ignored him. I have a feeling that he might be with that Lavanya at this moment cuddling into each-other on that office chair. YUCK! It hurts, at times. I don't know why I fall for people who don't even care about my presence. At-least Rehan did. Remember diary when I was in grade 8, I fell for that boy who later became the boy-friend of my enemy. Its like history is repeating. Anyhow, Nk texted me an hour ago that he had to talk to me about something, also he had a surprise for me. Well, at least I have my best-friend who has always been there for me. Also he said that he'll get rid of Lavanya for sure. I really trust him on that. The more I see Hitler the more I fall for him. It's been two weeks or so I think and I'm just here sitting. God! I hadn't even thought about my life this way. Whatever, so be it. I won't be zombie-like. I am not gong to be the way I was before marriage. Not as if the world is ending. Why should I even change for this 'what-the' freak? Ussay agay kuch bolna hi nahi ata. Bara aya business-man! More of a Hitler's lost son. Also, I am SO happy for Payal, all I saw this morning a red Payal. She wouldn't even tell me what they did but I am Khushi, I won't let her get away this easily. My arms are a little sore at the moment. I'll have to maintain my distance from him, I don't want him to hurt me physically and break my heart into a tri-zillion pieces. I think Nk's coming. I'll write more, toodles!

Khushi heard Nk come in with a happy face. "Khushiii!" –Nk almost sang her name in a melodious tone and plopped down next to her. "What are you up to?" Nk said hugging her side ways.

"Eating." –Khushi said letting her breath out.

"Khushi please smile. Arnav is a nice guy. He's just hard to handle." –Nk said taking a piece of Jalebi in his hand.

"A nice guy? LaadGovernor." –Khushi rolled her eyes.

"Laad-governor." –Nk started laughing.

"What? It suits him." –Khushi pouted.

"Yeah, I know." –Nk stopped and looked at Khushi sympathetically.

"You really like him don't you?"- Nk said.

"I don't know. He hates me." –Khushi huffed and pouted.

"Khushi, we saw the way he kissed your cheek, that was Arnav we all love, not ASR." –Nk said with a slight smile.

"No, he was waiting for me to react when I came back to the room so he can hurt me again. You see these fairy lights? I put them to annoy him." –Khushi smirked while pointing towards the flower pots.

"Yeah, he'll be angry." –Nk chuckled.

"Nk, I can't imagine him with another girl. It burns me inside, really it does. I have heard people say that if you think you are in love then you should wait for four months, even after four months if you think that person is the only one you think about then it means it true love. But what I feel around him is so weird. I hate him for hating me. "–Khushi said in a slow tone. A tear rolled down her cheek.

"I've seen the way you look at him and that is crap Khushi. Love happens, you never know when but it simply happens."- Nk said as he wiped her tear away.

"It's a one side love. He loves that… that fake plastic doll." Khushi gritted her teeth.

"We'll put her in place." –Nk said.

"Hmm." –Khushi muttered as she put a Jalebi in her mouth.

"I am going to her house day after tomorrow at night because she is going to have her boyfriend' over." –Nk said with a devil smile. Khushi choked on her Jalebi.

"Arnav jee is staying at her place at that night?" –Khushi said out of shock with half of the Jalebi in her mouth.

"God Khushi, not Arnav. You crazy person, her boyfriend as in her other boyfriend. She is double dating. The other guy is going to sleep with her that night."-Nk said hitting her head.

"Oh! I thought…" –Khushi kept munching on. "Has Arnav jee ever, you know…slept with her?" –Khushi asked looking at him with innocent eyes.

"Huh? Oh no! Not at all." –Nk lied to her and started looking at the fairy lights.

"I'll take that as a 'Yes he has slept with her." –Khushi said looking up in the sky.

"Khushii..."- Nk started.

"That's okay. Anyway, leave this, how did you plan all this?" –Khushi changed the topic.

"Well, I have my spies around and I'll make a video so I can show it to Arnav. It will hurt him but he has to know the truth."- Nk said as he got up.

"Hope nothing goes wrong." –Khushii sighed.

"Oh and surprise." –Nk said.

It was another diary. It was sea green with a shiny sliver bow on it. It also said' Khushi's Diary'. Nk handed her some chocolates as well.

"Oh my god, Nk you brought this for me? I love this." –Khushi happily jumped and hugged him.

"I know you like to write so I thought I'd bring you a new one." –Nk hugged her back. "Also Khushi keep that bright smile on your pretty face. Being sad wouldn't help." –Nk said and left.

Ohmygod! Thats like 2000+ words. ._. I've posted this now because the previous one was too small. Sorry.. :/ Hope you dolls like it. ^_^ And please do like and comment. :D And thankyou for the wonderful comments. :')

Next up - Arnav discovers the changes in his room & Arnav scolds her but then feels bad. He thinks of breaking-up with Lavanya. Khushi thinks of another way to annoy Arnav!
