chapter 6

A hot ,sultry moon. Not a cloud in the sky . the sun scorched grass looks dismal and hopeless . even if there is rain it will not turn green any more . the forest stand silent and motionless as if its tree tops were peering into the distance or as if it was waiting for something ,her eyes were dried and her face was killed with pain , by every passing second she longed for him , a person whom she left in the dark all alone and isolated to her love her boyfriend Mayur just when she over come all her pain and was ready to give her life a new start her love a new chance that beast dragged her behind she cursed each part of her to fall for this evil temptation as flashes of the unlikely event came into her mind

FLASHBACK:

The night of the spring festival

A bright moon floated in the starlight as each part of her glittered with beauty , they white grown made her look like an angle today she looked so different from a silly college girl she had turned into a shopisticated lady , her hair was decorated with white tiny flowers and her eyes glittered with joy of some unknown happiness even nawang could not help himself from gazing at her heavenly beauty she made all head turned around just as before she entered the party they put there mask on , she had a glittering gold mask while nawang suited himself with a black mask , and they entered the fest to find all the citizen their gattered having their merry time but the first thing her eyes met was the person she had come to this place for her professor he stood eligently at a corner of the ball dance room sipping into his glass of liquir he did not have the mask on him as a smile crept on her face , they headed to the ball room where they were in no time indulge in the conversation of the friends group they teased and joked but manyata was lost deep into the thoughts of uday , while unknown to her mayur ' eyes were hooked on her , the party was in full swing as soon all of them headed to the dance floor , and now it was only mayur and her as he extended his hands and asked

MAYUR:you are looking dead dropping gorgeous manyata

MANYATA:you really think so you know mayur I feel myself getting suffocated in this skin tight dress and not to mention the high heels my legs are killing me today

MAYUR:no problem we can switch you wear my shoes if it hurting so much

MANYATA:then what will you wear my heels

MAYUR:no I will walk barefoot by the way thanks for coming

MANYATA:there is no need after all you helped me so much last evening

MAYUR:mayanta everybody is in the dance floor so shall we go just for a dance

MANYATA:mayur if I go to dance floor all couple will run away I am fine here

MAYUR:ok fine anyway I think your throat must have dried up can I get you a drink

She nodded in a yes as he left while she stood there admiring the dancers while suddenly she felt the similar fragnance around her , she felt his warm breath on her neck she turned back to find him really close to her , as a smile crept in her face and she said politely

MANYATA:hello uday I did not accept you to come here

At this he gave her one of his most frostly look and said

UDAY:I hope I am still your professor and due respect should be shown from you

She felt embrassed for letting her feeling over come her brain as she was going to appolozise a smirk appeared on his face and he said

UDAY:I was just jocking gosh you went so pale

She took some time to understand what just happened and then a smile played on her face as she looked at the happily dancing couple suddenly her hands brushed against his , the touch sent current to her body as a blush crept in her bubbly cheek she had no idea what games her minds were playing as she looked at him , his eyes struck on the dance floor she stared at his handsome face a beautiful art of nature as the moonlight glowed his brown eyes as suddenly his eyes mets her they had a long warm eye lock just to be broken by mayur he held manyata 's hands and said

MAYUR:manyata come along I need to show you something

She did not want to leave but she was compel to she did not want to say a know to mayur as uday hands were separated from hers, he saw her leaving with mayur and the glass which he was holding was crushed into several million places , as she and mayur stopped near an isolated pond as she looked at him while he struggle to pull a boat out he offered her hands as she got inside the boat , he roared the boat and stopped at the heart of the river as he said to her

MAYUR:this is what I wanted to show you

She looked around and the scenario was awesome the water was crystal clear reflecting each and every star it was like they were standing in middle of the stars as she looked at him unable to speak just admiring the stars that looked so close as he continued

MAYUR:you said in standard three while studying about earth that you want to float in sky so I could not make you fly but brought the sky down for you

Her face was filled with happiness and joy she had never been so happy , mayur made her feel so special as she looked at him and said

MANYATA:mayur thank you so much it is beautiful

MAYUR:but it is not over yet

She looked at him confushed as he pulled out a small velvet box from his pocket and strenched it to her , he opened and a beautiful diamond ring glittered in her face as he said

MAYUR:manyata it had been always you , since the first day I saw you , since the first time I heard your sweet voice and till now I am in love with you These drops of fondness; I savour the sweetness. I am not me, no more. My heart is changing its take, I feel It's turning my fate, I feel Restless, I'm restless...The intoxication. I look for you with new eyes, everywhere. I find new sights likewise, everywhere. My heart's a flutter, It's flirting with danger, I feel that you are person who makes me feel so alive so please do not live me manyata I LOVE YOU

END OF FLASHBACK

She sat their as she heard the door open , she did not want to even face the beast so simply she closed her eyes and pretended to sleep the footsteps got closer and with a bang he opened the door she could sence his anger as she sat up on the bed to find his eyes redden with anger as he gritted his teeth and asked

UDAY: I have news for your lover boy

MANYATA:what….. happened to mayur tell me?

UDAY:he is being taken to Austria for his treatment and he will never return
