Hi Fatima,😊
Thanks so much for the pm,🤗I feel for Preet. Poor guy.He can't seem to even leave home plate, much less reach first base!😳Can't wait to see what happens on their "honeymoon".☺️The part about how babies get in the tummy...priceless.😆This scenario is very real, including the embarrassment the adults face.Loved it!Loved Meet's evening stroll in the garden!Preet picking the single rose spontaneously...so romantic and shows his love for Meher.Looking forward to the next installment,

Thank God you updated! I've been excited to read it the whole day!
Thanks for reading...🤗And what a cute and adorable update it was! Loved Meet's hug! And you made me laugh too, as usual. This line: Preet wasn't sure how chiseled his body had become in only 1 week's time, but he agreed to try out his friend's suggestions. 🤣Meet and comedy sort of go hand in hand right? 😆And then the whole Tannu and baby part 🤣 It was so funny but at the same time, I was feeling so embarassed FOR Meher! 😆I really had fun writing this part...and yes Meher was mega embarrassed. And not to mention that button scene..Preet trying to pull it off was hilarious! 😆 And it reminded me of the Meet scene when his button really did break and Meher fixed it! 😳I loved that scene...and loved how Preet didn't quite know where to look... 😳Preet actually had the guts to buy her lingerie? 😲 Okay, I'm guessing he's really desperate to confess, by hook or by crook! 😆He did have Gaurav backing him up...and yes...I'd say he's desperate. 😆Best part has to be the SSR part! I loooveee jealous Preet...you know in fact, your work has inspired me to write something on Meet too 🤔..I'm really thinking about an OS...OMG! Would you? Please pretty please...that would be so wonderful 😃And hey was meaning to ask you - I loooveee Preet, but I never really was that fond of Manav from PR so I guess I got kinda cut off from SSR... but I mean Kai Po Che seems like he's back to his Preet style 😉 Is it worth a watch?Kai Po Che is definitely worth a watch...in fact I've watched it 3 times. But Sushant's character Ishaan is nothing like Preet or Manav. I think you'll be pleasantly surprised in seeing him in this totally new avtar. 👍🏼Anyways, will be awaiting your next update desperately! Maybe update earlier then next Friday if you can. Hehe...I know I am being greedy but ugh, can't help it! There is only so many times I can watch and rewatch Meet scenes and vms. 😆 Okay I've ranted long enough!Good night Fatima and keep rocking the forum with your Meet fics! 🤗
back to india forums after a long time and this is just a fabulous treat
thank youcant get enough of meet storieswell written, its soo cute
Preet was settling into his room in the Juneja's Luxury Hotel in Mumbai, when there was a knock on the door. He quickly went to answer it. It was Prem.
"Hey Preet, if your done unpacking, let's go and get something to eat", said Prem, as he walked into the room. "On the way back we'll check the conference room to make sure everything is all set for your presentation tomorrow".
"What's this?" asked Prem pointing to Preet's suitcase. Someone had arranged his socks, tie and belt into a smiley face.
"Oh that", said Preet. "It's Meher. She knew I was worried about the presentation and...I guess she figured it would make me laugh...maybe relieve my tension a bit".
"Meher is a really sweet girl", smiled Prem. "You're lucky to have her in your life".
"Tell me about it", said Preet.
"Actually you should tell her about it", said Prem.
"What do you mean?" asked Preet.
"Meaning that...sometimes we overlook the importance of simple things our wives do to make our lives better", explained Prem. "When in reality, it's their way of showing their love for us". Prem pointed to the smiley face in Preet's suitcase as an example.
"Yeah...I guess I do", said Preet. "Um...Prem Bhaiya...it must have been really nerve wracking the first time you told Heer Bhabi that you loved her...right?"
"Good", said Prem. "Now are you going to change? Because I'm starving".
"I'm about to turn in for the night Preet. Travelling and then jumping straight into the wedding festivities, has kind of worn me out", said Meher. "But I'm so glad I came. You won't believe how many of my old classmates were here. We had a wonderful time catching up with one another".
"That's nice", said Preet.
"How was your flight?" asked Meher.
"Fine", said Preet. "But I'm still a bit nervous about tomorrow".
"Uff! Itni tension! Woh bhi Preet Juneja pe? Bilqul suit nahin karti", laughed Meher. "You'll be just fine. I'm sure of it". (Uff! So much tension...that too on Preet Juneja...doesn't suit you one bit).
"Thanks", smiled Preet. "Just hearing you say that means a lot to me".
There was a brief pause before Meher spoke up again. "Well then...all the best for tomorrow", she said. "Call me after the presentation is done".
"I will...'", said Preet. "Meher wait! I...uh...wanted to tell you that it was really cute how you packed my bag".
"I know it was kind of silly but I just wanted to bring a smile to your face", said Meher.
"You did", said Preet. "Well...I hope you have fun at your friend's wedding".
"Oh and Meher...'" said Preet, "... I just wanted to tell you that...it feels kind of strange not having you here with me. And...I really miss you".
Meher smiled, "I miss you too Preet. I guess we'll see each other the day after tomorrow. You're coming to the reception, right?"
"Right", said Preet.
"Well...good night", said Meher.
"Good night", said Preet. "Um...Meher...'"
"Yes Preet?" Said Meher.
"Nothing" sighed Preet.
Later...at the reception in Ambala...
"Hello! Welcome shellcome ji!" He said as he spotted Preet and shook his hands enthusiastically. "Me proud father of the bride".
"Hi and congratulations", smiled Preet. "I'm Preet Juneja, from Ludhiana. My wife Meher is a friend of your daughter Preeti. Do you know where I may find her?"
"Kudiyaan sab andar hagi hai", said the man. "Photo shoto le rahi hogi. Tussi bhi andar jao. Nacho, gao, khana shana khao". (The girls are all inside. She must be having her photo taken. Go on in and join the party. Eat, drink...enjoy yourself).
"Thanks" said Preet. He made his way inside to where the other guests were, and his eyes immediately began searching for Meher. He was about to call her on her cell phone when he heard laughter coming from a group of girls gathered on one side. It was then that he spotted her, dressed in a lovely red sari with beaded work on it. Her long hair had been left open to frame her pretty face and that contagious smile of hers. Preet's heart skipped a beat. He had never seen Meher in a sari before. She looked beautiful.
"I do?" blushed Meher.
Meher walked back to the group of girls she had been standing with earlier and introduced Preet to them. He smiled and returned their greetings as politely as he could, but Meher could see that he seemed distracted. Even when she brought back a plate of food for him from the buffet table, she saw him only picking at it disinterestedly.
"What's the matter Preet?" asked Meher. "Are you tired? Or would you like me to get something else for you?"
"No, I'm fine really", smiled Preet, "but I guess I'm not very hungry right now".
"Oh...yeah...sure...", said Meher. "I can understand. You're probably bored considering you don't really know anyone here. Let me just say good-bye to Preeti and her mom, and we'll be on our way".
"I know", said Preet. "We're not going home just yet".
"We're not?" said Meher. "Then where are we going?"
"Kasauli", said Preet.
"Yeah...'", began Preet, "actually...I was just thinking that...since I was away for business and didn't get to see you for an entire 48 hours...and technically...it's the first time we've been apart for that long since we got married...maybe we should make up for the lost time by going somewhere".
"Go somewhere? But we can spend time together at home too. So why Kasauli?" asked Meher.
"Um...uh...because...we have a log house up there", explained Preet. "And it's got this really neat fireplace...and no one's been up there in a while...and it's a shame that it's all going to waste...and so I think we should go up there and try it out".
"So you want to go up to Kasauli just to light a fire?" asked Meher, shaking her head. "That just doesn't make sense. Besides, won't we get bored up there all by ourselves?"
"Meher...why would we get bored with each other?" sighed Preet. He looked over at Meher, her brows were furrowed as if in thought. "Look Meher, the truth is...I just missed you a lot these past 2 days and I thought we could spend some time together...just the 2 of us. But if you're really not comfortable with the idea, its okay, I'll turn the car around".
"Nahin Preet", smiled Meher, "aisi baat nahi hai". (No Preet...it's not that).
"To phir...chalein?" asked Preet. (So then...shall we go?)
Meher nodded.
About 2 hours later Preet and Meher were driving up the winding roads of Kasauli. Night had fallen and, and the sky overhead was darkened further by the clouds gathering above. It had also gotten very cold.
"How much further is it to this log house?" asked Meher.
"It should be here somewhere", replied Preet.
"You mean you don't know exactly where it is?" Meher asked worriedly.
"I do...sort of...", said Preet, "I mean... it's been a while since I've been up here. Maybe that's the hill over there". Preet brought his car to a stop at the base of a large hill. "I'm afraid we'll have to climb the rest of the way on foot", he said.
"But it's so dark outside", said Meher.
"It'll be okay", said Preet. He opened the dashboard and took out a flashlight. "We have this".
Once outside the car, Preet took Meher's hand and led her up the steep hill. The distance turned out to be longer than he had estimated, and about half way up, it started to rain heavily. By the time they reached the log house they were soaked.
Preet tried opening the door of the little house, but it was locked.
"Preet hurry up", cried Meher, "it's freezing!"
"There must be a key around here somewhere", said Preet. He checked under the welcome mat, as well as a small potted plant on the window sill, before running his hands along the top of the door frame, and that's where he found the key. "Thank God for small miracles", he mumbled under his breath.
"Ugh! I'm soaked to the skin!" cried Meher, as they walked into the tiny cabin. She rubbed her hands together and then placed them on her cheeks in an effort to control her chattering teeth. "And it's so cold!"
"Yeah", agreed Preet, "but I guess we should count our blessings that it isn't snowing".
Meher took the flashlight from Preet and looked for the light switches. But there was no electricity in the cabin. "Oh no! What are we going to do now?" She asked.
"Don't worry", said Preet, "we always have some kerosene lamps here". He carefully made his way over to the fireplace and found some lamps lying near by. He located a box of matches and lit up 3 lamps.
Meher felt better seeing the soft glow of the lamps spread their light into the cabin, but she was still shivering from her wet clothes. "We have to get out of these wet clothes before we get sick", she said. "My suitcase is back in the car".
Preet nodded in agreement, before picking up a lamp and heading out to the porch where there was some firewood stacked. Meher too picked up a lamp and went to an inner room. She returned just as Preet came back with an arm load of small logs.
"Phew!" said Preet as he used his leg to close the door behind him. "That's quite a downpour we've got going. I'm lucky I found some dry logs. How about you...did you find anything?"
"Well...", sighed Meher, "the good news is we have running water and one blanket. But the only clothes I could find was this old pair of pajamas, which I'm sure are yours".
"What makes you think that?", asked Preet.
"Because there aren't any buttons on them", chuckled Meher.
"Oh" said Preet. "Meher...I'm really sorry. You must think I'm a complete idiot for bringing you up here. But trust me...this is nothing like what I had intended to happen. And I had no idea the weather was going to get so bad, else I would never have brought you here".
"It's okay Preet", smiled Meher, "it's not your fault. And now that we're here, we may as well make the best of it".
"Right", said Preet, "well then...you go ahead and change".
"What about you?" asked Meher. "You'll get sick if you stay in those wet clothes too". Meher thought for a moment. "I guess we can share these pajamas. I'll take the top and you can have the bottoms. As soon as our clothes dry we can change back into them".
"How come I get just the bottoms?" complained Preet.
"Because I'm a girl Preet", sighed Meher.
"Oh...right" said Preet.
"I'm going to go back inside and change and you can change out here", said Meher. "And please see if you can do something about that fire".
Preet quickly changed into the dry clothes and squeezed as much water out of his wet ones, before spreading them out on a chair to dry. He rubbed his hands over his bare arms. He was still cold but at least he wasn't wet anymore. "Let's see what we can do about that fire", he said to himself.
Preet stood up and looked around the rustic cabin. It was a lot more bare bones than he had remembered. Maybe Ma had some of the stuff moved to our summer house. Just my dumb luck! Of all the places I could have taken Meher, why did I have to bring her here?
Meher gave Preet a small, shy smile, and watched him smile back at her softly. The way his eyes swept over her suddenly made her feel excessively warm. Still clutching the front of her shirt, she tugged nervously at the hem with her free hand wishing it would some how miraculously grow in length.
"I think that's my phone", she whispered, as she headed for her purse and fished around for her cell phone. "Hello?"
"Meher?" answered Heer. "Where are you? We're sitting down to dinner here and you guys still haven't made it back yet. Is everything alright?"
"Yes di", said Meher. "We're fine. We just decided to take a slight detour to Kasauli, but we should be home tomorrow".
"Kasauli?" said Heer. "Why are you up in Kasauli?"
"Kasauli?" cried Kulraj in the background. "Oh! Let me talk to her!" Kulraj took the phone from Heer. "So", she chuckled, "my brother finally did something sensible and took you somewhere. Good! Now don't get nervous...and don't forget about the green lights".
"Green lights?" asked Heer in the background.
"It's a long story", Kulraj said to Heer. "Meher, we just wanted to make sure you both were okay. We'll see you when you guys get back. Bye".
"Bye", said Meher. Kulraj Didi and her green lights! Thought Meher. I don't know about green, but I'm sure I look as red as a tomato!
"It's okay Preet...really'", began Meher.
"No...", insisted Preet, "wait a minute...I always have something or the other with me for emergencies".
He walked over to where his jacket was drying out and checked his pockets. He beamed happily at having found 2 chocolate chip granola bars. He then ran over to the kitchen, rinsed out 2 glasses, filled them with water and placed all the items before Meher.
Just then Meher remembered the ladoos Preeti's mom had given her. "I have something to add too", she said. She got up and took the small tiffin out from her purse and added it to the items Preet had brought.
"Hmm...something is still missing", said Preet. He thought for a minute, before quickly walking over to one side of the room and returning with a small vase with artificial flowers in it, as well as 2 candles. "Voila!" He said as he lit the candles. "A romantic dinner for 2".
"Not bad if I do say so myself", giggled Meher. "In fact, I'd say we've got quite a feast going here". She picked up a granola bar and took a small bite. "Mmm...chocolate chip...my favorite!"
Preet helped himself to a ladoo, then got up and offered Meher his hand. "How about if we have that dance now?"
"Dance?" said Meher. "But there's no music?"
Preet ran back to his jacket and pulled out his cell phone. After a few taps on its screen, the familiar sound of music began to flow into the room.
"Kuch Kuch Hota Hai?" laughed Meher. "We're getting a bit filmy now aren't we?"
"Maybe...", said Preet, shrugging his shoulders, "but who's watching?" He took Meher's hands in his, pulled her up and twirled her around, before sliding one arm around her waist pulling her close to him.
They continued to sway to the music in silence, simply enjoying each other's presence. Meher took a step closer to Preet and let her head rest on his shoulder. His warmth and familiar scent made her feel comfortable and safe.
It wasn't long before the music ended, but Preet continued to hold onto Meher. She felt so warm and soft in his arms, that he wasn't ready to let her go just yet. He looked down at her and smiled. She too smiled back at him genuinely, making her already beautiful brown eyes appear even more beautiful. Preet could feel the butterflies swarm in his stomach again.
"Meher", he said, taking a deep breath, "I think we need to talk". He led her back to the fireplace and made her sit down.
"Is everything alright Preet?" asked Meher.
"Yes", said Preet. "It's just that...there's something I've been meaning to tell you for some time now, but I just haven't been getting the chance. I mean...sometimes the timing is not right, or we're getting interrupted or...I simply can't find the nerve to do so".
"Nerve?" said Meher. "Preet...there isn't anything you can't tell me. We're best friends remember?"
"That's the problem Meher", sighed Preet. "We are best friends...and that means the world to me...but...don't you feel that it's just not enough any more?"
"Matlab?" asked Meher. (Meaning?)
Meher could feel the color rising in her cheeks. "I remember", she said softly.
"Look...I don't know how you're going to react when I say this Meher", said Preet, "but my feelings for you have changed significantly over the past few months, and I can't keep them bottled up any longer. I love your eyes, your hair, your smile and pretty much everything about you. I can't stop thinking about you all day long. And when I see you...I get butterflies in my stomach and become all tongue tied. I can't live without you...and...I really just wanted to tell you that...I love you".
Meher smiled. She had hoped and suspected as much, but it felt wonderful to hear it from him directly. "I love you too Preet", she said.
"You do?" said Preet.
Meher nodded.
"Why didn't you say something to me then?" asked Preet.
"Because you never said anything to me", replied Meher.
"Well that's cause I was afraid you might still have feelings for Herman Bhaiya", said Preet.
"Why? Did I ever give you any cause to feel insecure?" asked Meher.
"No...but...I just thought...", began Preet.
"Preet...", said Meher, interrupting him. "It's no secret that there was a time that I liked Herman. What started out as a silly plan to help buy him some time until Maya could come to India and meet the family, caused more problems than either one of us had bargained for.
"Meher...", sighed Preet, "why would I want anyone else, when I have you?"
Meher blushed again.
"So...", smiled Preet, "...all this time...I've been trying to get you to fall in love with me and you already were. I should have known you couldn't stay immune to the Preet Juneja charm for long".
"Preet!" laughed Meher. She hugged his arm, her touch making the butterflies rise in his stomach again.
Preet slowly turned towards Meher. His eyes traced her face before settling on her lips. "Meher...", he whispered, "...is it alright if I kissed you?"
Meher could only lower her gaze in response, and as Preet slowly inched closer to her, she blushed in that pretty pink he had come to admire.
Meher could feel Preet's hand slowly riding up her leg and quickly parted from him. "Preet..." she gasped, in an effort to catch her breath..
"Kya Meher?" He said smiling mischieviously. "Itne papad bail kar tumhe yahan tak laya hoon. Aaj to main bilqul nahin rukoon ga". (What Meher? After everything I did just to get you here, there's no way I'm stopping now).
Preet took Meher's hands in his and pulled her closer to him again, letting the shirt she was wearing slip off her shoulders. His fingers left a warm tingling trail as they traced the soft contours of her bare shoulder. Then he kissed her again.
I guess you can say some of this was inspired by all things Karan Johar.
