Many are known to have faced Ekta Kapoor's quirky temper, but this time around it assumed serious proportions as at the other end were big names like Anu Ranjan and her hubby Shashi. The Ranjans alleged that the queen of soaps stopped some Balaji actors like Ram Kapoor, Roshni Chopra, Aamna Sharif etc from attending the ITA awards. They said the lady had her own axe to grind since some of her top shows like Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhie Bahu Thi didn't garner nominations. She even asked for a winners list and when it was denied she chose to get even this way.

Ekta on her part says, "I knew the winners from before; I didn't need a list. When they got to know I was upset, they offered to 'adjust' whatever show I wanted. I refused to accept this candy offering. It's not in my breeding to play such dirty games like telling my actors not to go to a function. And yes, just to let the actors of Kasamh Se attend the Indian Television Awards, I reluctantly altered my script. The Ranjans are lying if they say I asked for a list of winners," she smirked. The Ranjans had a different story to tell. "How does it matter if Aamna Sharif or any one did not attend our function? We have a foolproof and transparent system of picking winners. Someone or the other has to get miffed. You cannot please everyone." (Sampurn)
