Mumbai: He is one Bollywood producer who was in the news for all the wrong reasons.

Nazim Rizvi, producer of highly controversial film Chori Chori Chupke Chupke was charged with having links with underworld don Chota Shakeel under whose behest he is believed to have produced the film.

Rizvi was subsequently sentenced to jail for six years imprisonment, but after spending three years in jail, he is now out on bail and in no mood to waste any time.

The producer has just completed his latest film, Undertrial, with which he is hoping to make a comeback.

"One shouldn't focus on what happened in the past, one should focus on the future," is his new mantra.

Even if none of the big stars were accessible to him this time round, fortunately for Rizvi a handful of his old friends stood by him through his darkest period.

Says Bollywood actor Johnny Lever, "He is an artistically inclined man and just wants to do good work. He's not a don or a ganglord or anything."

Adds actor Shakti Kapoor, "I dont think Rizvi did anything wrong."

Despite the words of support, actor Rajpal Yadav, when offered the lead was sceptical about associating himself with Rizvi. However, he eventually decided to give the producer a chance.

"When Rizvi approached me, I was a little hesitant. I knew he had a marked past, he had gone to jail, but when he put all my doubts in my mind to rest, I signed on the film without any hesitation," says Yadav.

Undertrial is inspired by the life of a convict accused of raping his three daughters, whom Rizvi met while in Thane jail. And for a bit of self glorification, Rizvi has cast actor Mukesh Tiwari in a role inspired by his own life.
