beautiful poem di...you express feeling very well...loved it...🤗
the way you've described the yearning for each other is really touching...
but some lines just outshone the others...( copmpletely my POV)
"a constant couple with the language of silence"--- silence often keeps us bonded when we don't have anything to say...distance can break the bond of words, but the thread of silence is enough to stay connected...
"a conservative heart like a dark chamber"--- our deepest secrets, most horrifying fears, and our most innate desires, lie hidden in the depths of our heart. and when someone or something threatens our self imposed barriers, we more often than not make a conscious effort to push them away. we humans are very insecure that way. we reveal what we want to but when someone edges close to our true being unearthing the treasure that lies hidden, bringing light into the otherwise dark cavern, we tend to resist, for for we feel that somethings are better kept in folds than revealed.
"don't hope against hope" --- how unthinking is the human heart which welcomes false hope with open arms until it escapes draining us of whatever we have and even then, regaining consciousness we rush to fall into the snares of delusion once again...
"like a mirage i fascinated you once upon a time"--- on being torn apart from something or someone precious to us, we grieve and curse our fate but ultimately we look for ways to move on, ways to convince our heart that it was just a fragment of destined imagination. we end up classifying it as surreal reality, something which was never meant for permanence just like a mirage. but alas! the heart is not so easily be-fooled...for though it learns to smile through the tears and the tears do dry up sooner or later, memories, even if a mirage, are not so easily forgotten...
"a completely finished man"--- despair is the most treacherous enemy...it makes people offer you a helping hand and on the other hand it makes you reject all help...
a king who is defeated must be prepared to see strange looks,
so bitter a thing is the heart of man.
a man is finished only when he admits defeat to life and to himself...
and till the time he has even a last remaining vestige of self- respect and hope, he's still got something left in him.
love is not about being physically present all the time...sometimes its just about two hearts beating for each other. it is foolish to hold on to something which you know to be a forbidden fruit. but then it is also foolish to let go something which was all that you've ever wanted...
i don't know how far i'm right...i may be completely wrong...but these were the thoughts which came to me as i read your poem...😳
and once again...beautifully written di...you're awesome...🤗
