ina, tell me about it.
cliche and cringeworthy? loads and loads of that. and the chipped doors, wardrobes, and wonky stools at the billionaire b'low, the predictable crowd pulling twists and gimmicks in story/situation, and more stuff that's not worth it is all there. but then there's that for which i stay and keep coming back. bit like finding diamonds amid all the rubble. actually rarer than diamonds... maybe flawless natural round pearls with smooth, unbroken nacre.
i come back for it every time. sometimes i get it even from a nani, a di, a mami, a banwari, not only asr and khushi. but every time asr or khushi give me something that makes me stop, take a long breath and feel. they almost detox me. just watching a shot seems to cleanse me of all the bad things, the baggage of the day, the week, the month. have to say, for me, it's usually asr. though khushi has her incredible moments when it's hard to imagine you're not her.
watched 124 today after a major struggle with dailymotion's utter slowness. just one scene, straight after she says, "kyunki yeh meri sagai ki angoothi hai," and camera records asr's reaction in a slow pan then moves closer... i could be in that scene for a long long time, hearing a hot burning wind rising in a desert, a numbness spread through the air, a moment knocking all the breath out of a being, a realisation making unequivocal contact, the hot wind swirling all the while.
not too many actors take me to such a mad spot in my mind with just one look. so i get back to the torn and tacky of ipk and wait for the moment that will change my breathing patterns or just take me into it.
crazy what.
never watched any serial with this appreciation. not even the much better hindi ones of the initial years, like buniyaad. not even moonlighting with a young, really hot and funny bruce willis and the intensely intelligent and sexy cybil shepard, not star trek, not friends, not mad men with a character to go loony about, don draper. nothing.
so bhelcomes to the club, m'deah. i saw the lallan man somewhere and went ballistic too. also buaji is special 26.
