Chapter 17
Khushi opened her eyes, quite dimming, the next morning. Looking around, she remembered everything what happened since the last two days. No, she did enjoy the one day Toronto trip. She was actually very happy the entire day with him. With Arnav. But something was eating her deep inside. Something was bolting inside her heart, something which was completely agonizing her heart, her soul. Something she wanted to just discharge off her body. But no matter, how much ever she tried, she just could not succeed. She finally decided to let go, but her heart would just not listen, how much ever she tried.
The hospital room was very dusky. She looked at the clock and it was just 5 in the morning. There was just a yellow bulb right in front of her which was the only switched on source of light in the room. Right next to the bulb, she saw the music system which Arnav had got for her. Looking at it, there was a huge smile on her face but that smile faded just as she realized something when she was trying to sit up straight.
Something had her hands hooked onto them. She tried to move both her hands but something had enamored her hands in them. Later, she realized her waist was entangled onto somebody's arms, no, muscular arms. Those muscular biceps were so securely placed around her waist, as if the owner of those hands was fearing about something. Fearing about the trauma that what would they do if this waist just disappeared. Those protective garlands around it ensured that this waist was just and just for that person, yet.
Khushi bent her head more towards the left hand side of her bed and saw the cutest scenario ever! She saw Arnav, deep in his sleep, with his mouth slightly open, with his one hand hooked onto Khushi's one hand and other arm cleanly engulfing Khushi's bantam waist. His head was left hanging onto Khushi's bed. He definitely was not comfortable as he kept on moving his head even in his sleep.
One look at Arnav and Khushi realized that he was hell, damn tired. Still, in the same clothes and stubble increased, he looked quite weak. No, not more than Khushi, but he did look weak. Khushi realized that he had not eaten anything as his face clearly showed the traits. She traced his entire face and stopped at his lips. She remembered the time when he had kissed her so passionately. He actually made her forget the world around her. She still was wondering how she got so intoxicated by him, how she lost her utmost level of self control.
Khushi nodded her head, as if trying to shoo away the thoughts that were frolicking in her mind. She wanted to get up badly, but also, didn't want to wake Arnav up. She thought, its better to go off to sleep again than just laying there, helplessly. She squeezed Arnav's hand which was in her, and to surprise, he squeezed it back. Shocked, she looked at his face. He was sound in his sleep!
Haayy devi maiyya! Neend main bhi chance nahi chodta, bhoot kahin ka. She giggled to herself and slept, again.
-4 hours later-
It was nearly an hour since Khushi got up and two hours since Arnav. When Arnav got up, he thought this was the best sleep he had in years, in the worst situation! Sleeping hand-in-hand with Khushi, was something he definitely wanted to do since he realized his feelings. But in a place like the hospital in which they were, was absolutely the last thing he ever wished to be at! Now, both of them were standing at the reception, for Khushi's discharge. Dr.Shreya was finishing the last formalities. She told Khushi that she was fine enough to stand by herself.
Arnav, for not even once, could take away his stare from Khushi. He was observing her like how a child observes his teacher while she is teaching. He was seeing his every expression, every glare, every smile, every fading reaction. He just didn't want to miss anything essential. Dr.Shreya gave some last minute instructions to Khushi. She gestured something to Arnav which Arnav understood. Luckily, Khushi didn't notice this.
"Our Limo is waiting." Arnav said, his voice still showing his weakness.
"What!? We can take a cab, Arnav. You've already spent a lot on me. I'm indebted to you. And plus, the expense of a limo! I know I earn, but this is really not needed and.."
"Shhh Khushi! Mujhe bhi kabhi bolne diya karo!" he interrupted and smiled."You don't need to pay anything to me. It's all cool. And, because of you, I could strike that deal, remember? So, technically, I'm indebted to you, Chill." he winked and laughed.
Khushi pouted at his answer. Arnav looked at her pout and joked,"And then you do this and tempt me more. I'm really going to be indebted to you in a exorbitant manner." he winked.
Khushi ignored that comment of his and just looked straight. Tempt!? My lips tempt him. I wish I could just kick him in his balls, NOW! How his face tempts me!
The lift came and they both stepped in. Soon, they were out of the hospital, waiting for Arnav's limo. Khushi asked him to cancel it right away, but he was just very adamant. A black color Limo finally came in, and they both got in. Khushi's face was just like a small girl who has been offered candies. She looked so happy in that limo. I swear, Arnav just wanted to see this! The Limo finally drove away.
"Liked?" Arnav asked.
"Hmm. It's good." Khushi said, trying her best not to sound excited.
"WHAT! Ok." Arnav said and clapped his hands, as if gesturing something to someone.
Khushi was confused at first but then something just shocked her terribly as she heard...
'MERI KHWABON MAIN JO AAYE,
AAKE MUJHE CHEDD JAYE,
USSE KAHON KABHI SAAMNE TOH AAYE..'
Khushi screamed as soon she heard this song. "Dilwanne Dulhaniya Le Jaynege, Arnav! I love this."
"Hmm.. that's better." Arnav said and winked at her.
Khushi, completely forgetting where she is, started singing with the ever beauty Kajol, not caring a damn of what Arnav or worst to worst, what the limo drover will think!
'KAISA HAI KAUN HAI, WOH JANE KAHAN HAI
JISKE LIYE MERE HOTTON PE HAAN HAI
APNA HAI YA BEGANA HAI WOH
SACH HAI YA KOI AFSANA HAI WOH
DEKHE GHUR GHUR KE, YUHIN DOOR DOOR SE,
USSE KAHON MERI NEEND NA CHURAYE!'
Suddenly, the weakness within Khushi vanished. She tried to get up and dance in the limo! But fell straight on the sofa she was sitting on. At this, Arnav and Khushi both guffawed like crazy. To Khushi's surprise, Arnav was tapping his heels and clapping his hands. Within no time, even he started singing to his heart's content and changed the song, quite swiftly.
'HAYE HAYE RE HAAYE, YEH LADKI, HAAYE HAAYE RE HAAYE
KARTI NADANIYAN KYU POCHO TOH HAAYE
KABHI YEH HUMSE LADTI HAI KABHI AKADTI HAI
KARO DOOR SE CHEDDKHAANI..'
Both of them started laughing like anything. The fragileness, the weakness, everything just disappeared, it seemed. The limo finally stopped and they got into their house. Arnav knew what he had to do, and he had to do it just now.
