Chapter # 7

At night

Khushi's POV

I was standing by the window thinking, what if he said yes, just a thought I had taken. Would I be happy with him? My family was already excited for something that might happen. But for an instance I felt something for him, I didn't know what but it was something. Imagining him with Lavanya I felt jealous...very jealous. But how can I fall for someone like him in a few days. Yes, he means nothing to me, my brain said but my heart.. it had other ways to explore. My heart and my brain were in a fight.

Something happened to me and I started thinking about him. He was good looking.. But something kept bothering me. I didn't know this would happen in a week. Just a week and I had met a man, no actually bumped into him and he turned out to be my boss then he turns out to be Payal's brother in law, my Dadi already knew that family and now that Laad governor is going to be my maybe-husband.

I was looking up into the sky to find two bright shining stars. Yes, they were my real parents. I was feeling down today, didn't know why. Just then I heard the telephone ring and suddenly after exact 7 minutes I saw Payal running to me and she said:

"WE ARE GETTING MARRIED ON THE SAME DAY." She screamed in my face in excitement. It was a way she had never said anything before.

And they realization banged on my face, HE SAID YES?

What the hell?

No, just no! Lavanya?

I felt a slight happiness ting in me but my brain was denying it. My heart beat just quickened. Payal hugged me and I was just there, standing, in my own dream world. How can this be possible? I still just don't believe it.

"Aren't you happy? He is perfect!" I heard Payal shaking me, bringing me back to the real world.

"Umm...yeah I am. Yes I am happy actually." - I felt happy inside, suddenly.

"Your wish! It came true. Remember how you wished me and you married to brothers, in the same house." Payal said.

"Yes I do remember." I said smiling brightly.

"Oh my god Khushi, it's going to be so much fun. Me, you living in the same house after our marriage. I am so happy. And you found your prince charming. You wanted to meet 'your guy' suddenly like with a bang, remember? See God has now fulfilled your wish." Payal said hugging me.

Flash back

I was reading a book, a love story and then suddenly my mind struck.

"You know Payal, I really want to meet my Prince charming." I said turning to her.

"You will soon." Payal said calmly.

"Not just like that, I want to meet him with a BANG. Like in movies they suddenly just meet their guy and then they just fall in love and then a happily ever after. Like that!" I said jumping on the bed.

"Well that just happens in fairytales maybe? But love at first sight type thing is possible." Payal said frowningly.

"Wo bhi chalay ga." I sat down with a big jump.

Payal went of to bed after discussing how everything should be just perfect. But one thing bothering me was his 'yes'. I mean just how? I was happy, some how but yeah... It seemed perfect. I was happy that my family was happy. I could do anything, just anything to keep them happy.

I don't know but something just suddenly went wrong to my mind and I started dreaming how it'd be like after marriage. Our kids, how he'd be taking care of me and all...Maybe he liked me. I started smiling to my self. Whatever was wrong with me, I seemed to like it. Just then, my thoughts were disturbed once again. I heard a knock on the door...

12:30 am? Who could it be? Everybody was sleeping so I had to get up from my bed and open the door to see who it is.

I went and first opened it up slowly so if any burglar would try to come I'd just shut the door on his face but I didn't get to do that as I saw Arnav jee.

"Arnav jee?" His name just automatically slipped out of my lips.

He looked miserable. His eyes were slight red, his hair was all messed up. It seemed like he had just been with a fight with someone. His look was scary and I was scared. He walked up to me in two long steps. He took my wrist and pulled me up to my room. Actually he didn't know where my room was but he just went there and it co-incidentally was my room. I tried to free my arm, he was hurting me. He finally pushed me and this push being unexpected, I fell on the bed harshly.

"Arnav jee wh..." I tried to say but he cut me off and this was when I saw his hatred towards me and that good feeling was shattered.

Present time

Khushi writing her diary

I was happy, kind of. I thought he was the one, after a few hours but... I thought he liked me; he came to my house that night and told me how he is forced to marry me, how he likes Lavanya but just for his family's sake he was marrying me. He kept insulting me and I kept looking at the floor. I was broken, I was miserable. He said that I am marrying him for more money. I am faking my sympathies towards his family just to enter the luxurious world. I am using Payal and Akash jeeju to make my place in that house. But Payal always liked Akash and so did Akash. He didn't even let me utter a word. I kept listening quietly, I was vanishing inside. I could hear his words, only. My hopes had shattered like always. He said that we will behave like a happy couple in front of the outsiders and inside the room we'll be nothing to each other. I thought maybe just maybe somewhere deep down he had feelings for me as well but I was very wrong. My mom told me how God always helped in the most difficult situations. I believed that with my whole heart. But...

I was already feeling so down and this happened. He left quietly, not to wake anyone up. He said that tomorrow his family will come for the Shagun so I should act nicely.

Although it had just been a week, bumping into him, him turning into my boss and all those offices scenes, I started feeling for him. My heart it was aching. Just like it had been when my parents died. I'm crying now, I don't think these tears will stop ever.

He said it's for six months. Just six months and then it'll all be over.
