na tumhari baat sunni hai aur na tumhari shakal dekhni hai... i don't care ki tum kahan jaati ho, kya karti ho... i don't give a damn.

not that he'd lied. in that rush of anger, he really thought he meant it. he didn't want to see her face, nor talk to her, he didn't care where she went, what she did, he didn't give a damn. the mood was very rhett butler, must say. scarlett had gone too far.

anger. his friend, his foe, his mate. that anger was needed if a little boy whose mother was torn from him suddenly and terribly, whose world was scattered like a string of pearls, snapped; the pearls falling and crashing, their sound sharp, repetitive, on the hard floor echoing... if that little boy were to survive this calamity, he needed to find something within him. the boy found his rage and made it his own.
i absolutely loved what you said about ASR's anger. His distorted past made him sardonic.

and today, a young woman who intrigued him with her strange ways, who stayed in his head long after she'd left, who came up with the most bizarre plans to get him to do what he didn't want, and try as he might he couldn't get her out of his life, today, she had driven him straight round the bend on a road which he thought would be serene and uneventful.

"thodi hi der mein sochogi, ki kaash tumne mujhe  jaane diya hota..." in a short while you'll wish you'd let me go, he promised. khushi's pranks had not only completely thrown his nainital plans into disarray, now, to ensure that he doesn't stalk off without eating, without a car, in a foul mood and brooding, khushi had done a super filmi thing. "nahiiin!" she'd practically declaimed, gathered the crowds around and said, he can't leave her like that, it's not even been two hours and 24 minutes (er, khushi... natural born melodrama script specialist, that's what you are) that the two had eloped and got married... and all because the food was too hot, he was leaving? not her fault... auntyji was to blame. poor auntyji looked ashamed for causing such trouble. uncleji gathered large turbaned men to bar the man from leaving, editors made a nice chutney of the scene showing different sets of large men from different camera angles, but none the less, what khushi had set out to do was achieved.
khushi is nautanki no.-1. But she had to do the drama to compel Arnav's to stay back.

asr's adios plans were foiled. leaving a tawny eyed creature in orange red anger.

he'd watched the theatrics nonplussed. this is not a man who likes such campy things, most of all he will not tolerate someone trying to get the better of him. and there's khushi, raising eyebrows, smiling as if to say, "got ya." oh this is intolerable.
but he was actually not that annoyed, when khushi beckoned he made a face.he always tries to be grumpy.

i must say, i understood his ire perfectly. and as the bhangra proceeded and the midway fun of that highly unsubtle nature that seems to be dhaba fare got going, i was glad to see a nasty expression enter his eyes, and a mean lopsided smile take shape. he had another idea and this one would not please drama queen. the king of gussa meant to win this round.
Mighty ASR can't loose.

"aur agar shaadi aaj hui hai, toh suhaag raat bhi aaj hi hogi na?"
so if the marriage took place today, the suhaag raat must also happen tonight, right? khushi had not remembered how shatir the hungry angry young man could be. what?!!! wedding night? auntyjiii unclejiii...

his "chale?" was a bit different from the tender one just a while back when her dupatta had fallen and he'd shown how keenly he understood her needs and respected them. he slung her on his shoulder with one easy tug, caveman style, and took her, protesting screaming kicking, to the "honemoon suite."

there in  the middle of the night, in the middle of nowhere, he let his anger take over... "shhh!" he spat out. peremptory. at the end of tether.

you started the drama, i'll end it. today you've crossed all limits... before i wake up tomorrow morning, disappear from here. i don't give a damn. and he left her alone in the room and walked off to get some sleep in a comfortable bed.

she sat there petrified, the lights went out, she was frozen in terror. in a second the mood had been expertly changed from fun and light to dark and tense.
My heart was aching for Khushi. ASR did wrong to her.

"devi maiyya raksha karna..." thoughts of the night at the guest house in my mind. the hours ticked by, she sat alone in fear.

he wakes up, the day registers. first name on his lips... "khushi" enquiring, then getting worried.. "khushi?!!" memory comes, and an expletive... oh shit. in an instant, he's up, the quilt flung off, quickness in every move. urgency.

where is she.

"aaj bhi hume tez gadi se darr lagta hai... hume andhere mein jaane se dar lagta  hai," she's scared of speeding cars and the dark even now, he is horrified as he recalls.

this was the thing about his anger. when it came it blinded him to everything completely. perhaps taking his mind to the state it was in on a day from hell. everything went blank, all he knew was to hit out against everything. go away... go away... take this terrible reality away possibly was trapped in silent screams within him. it blocked out everything.
him anger sometimes crosses all the limits. i was really mad at him when he let her fall down from his cabin.

everybody.

even khushi.

but when he calmed down, the enormity of his actions swamped him, making him feel terrible, guilty, just downright bad. i don't know why i am like this he will say to la soon, he does this without thinking or knowing... "anjaane me"... but when he realises what he's done he is just so ashamed of his actions.
he surely had anger disorder. but when he started loving Khushi unconditionally all of his anger mellowed down.

he found  her. he also realised she'd been alone through the night, without light or fan, sitting... and as if that weren't enough, she had high fever.

all because he was angry. "dammit" under the breath.

and the cave man turned into the gentlest being on earth as he lifted her and carried her to a comfortable place, lay her down tenderly and soothed her fever away.

"khushi, khushi,"
how can a  monster sound so sweet.

"amma... babuji..." khushi needs her own, her care givers, delirious she seems to be. his eyes darken, sadness at his own behaviour and worry about her in them.

"khushi, uthkar doodh pilo... phir dawai khani hai..." khushi, get up and drink your milk, you have to have your medicine after that...

a pair of most caring arms lifted khushi up by the shoulders and brought her close toward his heart, looked as though he just wanted to gather her up and embrace her, enfold her with his arms, like the most precious thing life had given him. maybe the director had slowed down motion, maybe the cinematographer had got the perfect magnification and angle, perhaps the lighting was perfect, but could just that have created that sense of drawing into oneself in the scene? or was it the phenomenal understanding of a moment in a characters's life that somehow barun and sanaya seemed to have.
this is the ultimate truth. they made the scene so subtle!

rabba vey and a gust of wind, rustling by, as he lifts her up, a scene i'll remember long.

shashi gupta knows the truth.

he could get angry, he could walk away, he could  shout and ignore, but he could not ever not love his drama queen. she could call him names, she could fight, she could even hate him, but she could never not love her gussa boy.
so true no matter what, they can't stop loving each other.
the Bryan Adam's song came to my mind
'PLZ FORGIVE ME I CAN'T STOP LOVING YOU."

97

sunlight streams in through the window. he sits by her and tends to her, bathing her fevered brow, watching over her...

he begins to move his hand away and she turns her face, resting a soft childlike cheek against his hand, nestling in trustingly. in the silence of his heart there's a truth, when no one's watching, he won;'t push it away. his heart moves before his head can. she snuggles more against his palm, he slides down from the bed, to keep her comfortable, leave his hand where she wants it.
Beautiful description. I just love the scene. Sanaya was looking ethereal in the scene.she is truly an epitome of beauty.

he remembers how she'd fed him the previous day. all attention and immense care.

he remembers the threat, get out before i get up tomorrow morning.

i'm sorry khushi, i'm so sorry, the words fill the air, so still all around. not a trace of anger or worldliness in him now. just a boy, a girl, and a real feeling. what else is a honeymoon.
what an insight!πŸ‘

he reaches to gently ease his hand out and remembers a tear, rolling down from her eyes. his arms around lavanya, a tear sliding down khushi's cheek, the cheek resting so peacefully in his palm right now. why did she cry?

why do i feel at this moment, he knew, he knew exactly what was going on, within both of them.

she's better, they are leaving their "suite," a gentle air about him, concerned,
"khushi?... tum... theek toh ho na?" khushi, you're ok, aren't you?

"hum dilli wapas apne aap chale jaayenge..."
i'll get back to delhi on my own, she offers, obvuiously still hurt by his ruthless anger. he's about to tell her not to be like that, he couldn't leave her... or so his body language indicates.
His contrition was visible.

and the jeep with wild people arrives.

asr and khushi confront the goondas. babuji confronts shyam.
shyam is more nefarious than those goons. shyam is a psychopath, those goons are just somebody's  mercenary.

right versus wrong... pure versus evil.

a fascinatingly well constructed segment of intercutting between the two scenarios. as shyam takes on his most virulent form, dhaiya ho begins to play. his music from day one. which clearly means, that day when he met khushi as protector, even then he was not. he was always something cringingly dark, convulated, and coiled. some day we'll construct the perfect story for him.
yes he is.

at the dhaba, as asr's anger is triggered by a man pushing khushi, his music holds sway.

both men are willing to kill someone... for khushi. but only one of them loves her. yet he leaves her alone in darkness without a covering the whole night. it's complicated... maybe because iit's real?

"haan mar daloonga, isski himmat kaisi hui tumhe haath ..." yes, i'll kill this man, how dare he touch you... you are mine asserts his heart, his gut, mine, and i will always be yours, holding you loving you, making sure no one hurts you... mine... do you hear me? and don't you forget that, dammit. but his head can't hear at the moment. too much anger. his friend. his foe. his mate.
Arnav sure is very possessive about khushi.

he's beating a man relentlessly, kicking, pummeling, hurling, hitting his head against the floor... a hand on his shoulder, and he returns to reality.

98

blood on knuckle, a shaken man at the wheel. he has nothing to say to her. silent. he remembers her voice rising, "aap ko ho kya gaya?" what's happened to you.
he was terribly perturbed at that moment.

he has no answer, just questions plague him, "kya ho gaya tha mujhe? why did i react like that?" what happened to me what happened to me what happened... his mind buzzes. te answer his heart and gut knew, his mind, his dimaag had not yet heard. his anger was protecting his heart, reflex action. his buddy, his temper. no nothing must hurt his fragile heart again, not if his gussa has anything to do with it.

tense silence. khushi chirps in, "dilli aa gayi..."

not a word.

finally she can't take it, she has never seen him like this. all through, despite all her nautanki, it's all been about her wanting to bring good things to him really. a little pyaar time with la, when that failed, a little pakoda to calm him, he won't have it... then some food at the dhaba, something nourishing, he hasn't eaten the whole day and he fainted in the morning. but he wouldn't listen. then the nahiiin natak, so that he wouldn't be stuck alone on the highway, minus car, awfully hungry. always about him. her laad governor whom she even in the third person calls, "aap" with a strange kind of respect, and yells at as though she has every right to, she has no idea why her eye wells up with a tear when he holds another, or why her expression turns to melancholy when someone else speaks of marrying him... all she knows is that she is worried about him, this anger, this out of control fury is no good for him. and if it's not good for him, she can't bear it... it's not good for her.
both of them already knew each other very well. but, still in denial.

"dekhiye aap kuch toh boliye... hum jaante hain ki humne aapko bahut pareshaan kiya, lekin aap kuchh bol nahin rahe hain toh hume kuchh ajeeb sa lag raha hai... (ajeeb, again that word, it is the defining word for the nature of their love story, along with hamesha and vishwaas and dammit maybe?) waise toh aap hamesha hume daant-te hain, chillate hain, hume apni aukat ki yaad dilate hain...waise kariye na. iss tarah  aap ko chup baith-te hue humne kabhi dekha nahin hain..."

look, please say something... i know i have driven you crazy, but you're not talking and that feels so strange... otherwise you scold me, shout, (and then remembering, she adds with enthusiasm), remind me of my status... why don't you do all that. i've never seen you sit quietly like this...

"aap kuch toh boliye na... hume daant lo... daant lo ap..."
say something... just scold me...

"just shut up," cold silver ice in his voice.

"shut up? devi maiya ki jai ho
," she's relieved, delighted to be insulted, at least he spoke. he hasn't spoken in three hours... she makes the mistake of reminding him of what he did, prattles away, if he could do this to a guy because he pushed her, what would he do if the guy dared hit her...

"get out." the words shot out like a bullet.

he didn't want to be reminded of his loss of control. why was he behaving like this, what was the matter with him? arnav singh raizada has never felt this sensation before. it feels alien, scary, threatening to him.

"kyun ab humne kya kiya?"
what did i do now? she has been here before, she is flummoxed but not unduly shocked... till his second, through gritted teeth, expanded, emphatic:

"get... out."

she is hurt, terribly, again. he slaps money into her hand, brusquely helps her take off her seat belt. classic that struggle of hers with the belt, all her agony in that jerky unfocussed movement, even shyam letting her down never hurt her perhaps as much as this man's blow hot blow cold. she leaves.
pyar ka dard meetha bhi, teekha bhi.

when he enters home, restless, seething, confused, grazing anger within, the screenplay uses a cute, wacky foil to contrast with his state of mind and throw it into relief. op. all gleaming smiley face asking for chhotey saab's attention, getting entangled with him like a playful kitten (perfect man for khushi to play ankh micholi with when she gets bored being rich at the raizada home).hahaha. I also like this funny looking Prakash.he tells op to get off his back and enters his den. a question searing.

"kal tak main usse pareshan tha toh phir aaj kya ho gaya hai mujhe?" till yesterday i was irritated with her, then what happened to me today?

even when you were "pareshaan" you averted your gaze to hand her her dupatta, turned away to give her privacy. even when you were angry, you carried her to a room and left her in a safe place, not in the jungle. when you realised your folly, you rushed to find her, mortified at the state you discovered her in, when her cheek rested on your palm you only felt the flow of tenderness within, not a single instinct to draw away, when you gathered her up you were caring toward a girl who had driven you batty through a harrowing journey... and then when a  man touched her, you lost it. yet you haven't a  clue what's happening to you.
that's so strange. how cum a Harvard brain can't understand his feelings of love!

as you didn't all those times you couldn't stop thinking of her... after bersarai and the sindoor incident, the day you ran like a maniac to find her in a crumbling edifice, the sunday afternoon you thought she wasn't coming back and ached, the endless times you repeated to yourself she's going away to lucknow for humesha and couldn't think of anything else. you put up with her mad plans, get angry but can't get rid of her from your mind, you can't bear to see a tear in her eyes, i could go on.
brilliant observation and i still raise the question, how cum he is not getting that he is madly in love with Khushi.

yet you don't know what's happening to you. i guess the drive from faraq nahin padta to faraq padta is an arduous one, sometimes in the middle of it is a honeymoon suite.
very well said.πŸ‘

96/97/98

and along this difficult route, another milestone has been covered, shashi gupta is the only one who knows the terrible danger approaching his chhutki, and ever since that single shot on a car window that speaks of knowledge on one hand and the eternal denial of truth on the other, shyam knows what he has to do if he is to get khushi. and that has led him to turn into a killer, even worse. khushi's father is in hospital fighting for his life. a killer lurks undetected among the din and cry of emotion, coiled, convulsing, uncouth, just by the side if the ditch.

wonderful!
all the blue lines stood out.

Episode 101 and 102:
The start of giving up of reservations.

Arnav : Once Khushi had given up her reservations about showing her feelings he just had to do something. So Arnav bitwa could not hug her back. He could not give up his reservation in the middle of a hospital. Then he goes home and thinks of why he can not give up his reservation. We know when he wants to do something he has to practice condolences and this time he practiced it not with Mr Mirror but with La. He also got his strength from Di. So when Khushi came to ask for money he was still trying to shed some reservations. In the midst of his mental practice he lost a second chance to offer her condolences. We know ASR keeps on trying after each failure. So he went and gave her father's bill. Then came the second phase putting his hand on her head as if saying I am there for you. Then the third was asking her how her dad was. The fourth was when he told he broke the vase and not Khushi and did not even shout at anyone. The fifth was when he secretly put two coins to make her happy. There was counting all the nice things he did for her and in this two episodes he did more then he had done till now. No wonder Khushi fell even deeper in love with him.
tha
Khushi : When she went and asked Arnav for money and to put them in her box I almost cried. It was extremely touching. This was the same Khushi who did not ask her salary from the office, the payment for sarees delivered, for the sweets made, for the plants she bought to bring him and La together. This was the same Khushi who was extremely sad whenever Arnav made  references about the differences in their financial condition. She cried when he told Anjali that she did not need to ask sorry from her because she was their employee. She was the one who said they value money and do not show any pride on their value. She was always dreaming of returning and throwing money at him. So I think her devastation was evident, at the same time she did not shed her reservations in front of Buaji, Shyam or even her Mom. She did it in front of Arnav- whom she felt instinctively she could rely upon. She gave up her reservations about marriage to her Di about how she felt about marriage - because she knew she could tell her what her dreams of falling in love were going to be. No wonder Arnav and Payal both knew then how much she was devastated to give up her reservation about money and love respectively.

Buaji : I really wish she had kept her reservations in this difficult times. So I can understand the reason she gave them up was because of her brother's health who was the only living male in the family.

So evidently enjoyed when Arnav was starting in an ASR way to win over Khushi after giving up his reservation. When Khushi gave up her reservations and came to Arnav, allowed him to give her condolences, told Payal her dreams I fell in love with her once again. However when Buaji was giving up her reservation remembered Mami's dialogue about chamko detergent. Evidently people go to a doctor they trust to make them better.

episode 99

"babuji kuch kahna chahte hain... boliye na babuji!" a sweet, tense but determined little voice, babuji wants to say something, say it babji.

"shyam... shyam..." a man struggles to say the words as his face contorts, his muscles give up.

"a native american elder once described his own inner struggles in this manner: inside of me there are two dogs. one of the dogs is mean and evil. the other dog is good. the mean dog fights the good dog all the time. when asked which dog wins, he reflected for a moment and replied, the one i feed the most." ~~~ george bernard shaw ~~~

evil that has been fed and pampered, it has congealed and started pulsating with heinous intent. it draws its sustenance from the basest part of the human construct, far far away from what's divine. shyam feels the throb in his veins when he contemplates wrong and acts upon it, a natural born not good 'un.

in this episode, on the one hand the rise and spread of shyam like a dark, insidious shadow, inexplicably lucky. no one catches him doing what he does. the one man who does is struck down. how could such a thing happen? yet, precisely such things do happen. again and again.and still we hope.

and on the other, the reason we do hope. that equally inexplicable entry of the positive, the blessed. out of nowhere, when you least expect it, though most need it, comes help. an answer. an affirmation of good. and a reminder, if there's evil in the universe, equally and more forcefully, there is the opposite of it. the mean dog, the good dog, they are both in here and out there.

shyam dominated the episode, yet shashiji's desperate love, khushi's valiant fight, and a couple of minutes of a man who seeks the sahi and repents when he is galat, stole the show.

the alacrity and ease with which shyam moves to any and everything considered a sin points to his nature, his true self. how quickly he contemplated adultery when he saw khushi. in just one meeting, a three year marriage became a thing to play with. if he sensed anjali was getting demanding or strong, he'd resort to emotional blackmail or feigned romance without missing a beat, to get his own way. but when he saw babuji's face on that pane and realised his game was up, oh the evil that instantly clouded his eyes and caught his being. he'd do anything to not let the truth out. if threats wouldn't work, why not murder?

the man who knows all the shastras, every kind of law, who spoke chaste hindi, and always showed respect to his elders... had one thing clearly missing. conscience. that's what you feed the good in you with. completely missing in shyam.

that's what, to my eyes, made him truly evil.

the writers of ipk used their craft well and gave us another scenario to contemplate. a man who had no time for shastras and certainly didn't know them, who created an empire and knew and valued money, who spoke a mix of hindi and english minus floweriness of either, and who showed respect where he felt it was due... you could like him, you could hate him, what you couldn't deny though was that this man had a conscience. and it spoke to him clearly.

"kyon mujhe pahli baar aisa laga ki main... ki main shayad kuch galat kar raha hoon... main sahi hoon."why did i feel for the first time that i... i was perhaps doing something wrong... i am right. remember him in the rain? a man concerned with being sahi... right... not galat, wrong. it is in his innate nature.

his mother's value system and evolved upbringing have nurtured it. she has taught him to develop and grow his conscience so that he may tame the wildness within. the wildness we all have to a greater or lesser extent. she's taught him to examine his actions... will you kill the flower for the hurt the thorn gives? life lessons in everday situations.

his father's "galat" leanings and weakness have given it resolve. he will not be like his father... galat. so he evaluates his actions, and does things he believes are right. of course, doesn't mean he is always right. the difference is, he thinks afterward deeply, and if certain he was indeed wrong, he does so repent.

these two men and their strange ties to one woman, khushi, is finally absolutely centre stage today.

shyam, upon being discovered by khushi's primary protector, her father, has struck. in the midst of his threatening when shashi gupta started having a heart attack, shyam threw away the medicines... this in my eyes is tantamount to cold blooded murder. and the state babuji was left in was worse than death in many ways.

now he is leaping and dancing around frame causing destruction and seemingly getting away with it. how horrific his intent pursuit of harming shashi ji; how disgusting his pretend concern, his mocking of a fallen older man, his thick self absorption, his utter inability to empathise with  human suffering. to get what he wants he will hurt anybody, even the object of his desire. and he gleefully informs a man who can't get up and give him a punch on the nose that he will marry his daughter, in fact he will get his family to beg him to do that.

how sickeningly deceitful his holding of hand over flame to con a girl under terrible pressure. she thankfully is not moved by this, rather displeased with his attitude to the whole thing and discouraging talk, though she does tie the handkerchief on his palm. please don't say such things, shyam ji, devi maiya will not let anything bad happen, her heart says so.

the girl who understands heart, knows how to listen to it.

her father lies struggling for coherence in the hospital. her mother, aunt, elder sister, all are crumbling. first the shock of heart attack and then the devastating news: it's paralysis. all khushi knows is she is second in command in the gupta household. her captain is down. she must hold the family together. directors establish this quickly, within seconds of her arrival, she is taking over, telling her jii to stay calm, all will be well, clearly, after babuji, she is the support.

a little girl of eight whose whole world had shattered was given home, heart, love, promise, nurture by this man who was no one to her, just her mother's sister's husband. not a rich man, not a young and dashing man, but a man with love and a conscience. her feelings for this man are hard to gauge. she literally will do anything for him. her "babuji..." when the doctor declared his diagnosis spoke only of that love and her need for him in her life.

as everyone leaves the room, khushi stays back to be with her father for a moment. she holds his hand with the most loving care, all of 18 and absolutely determined, "sab... theek ho jaayga, babuji," everything will be alright, father.

a tear slides down from a helpless man's eye. he has confronted evil and the evil for some unknown reason has won. at least for now.

unknown to her aunt, mother, and sister, on the other hand, khushi is coming apart. struggling to stay on top of things. she can handle everything, but not the loss of her parents again. and this is babuji...

at rm, a short telling scene. he came out of his room when he heard his mami's altercation with naniji about the status of people and the place of servants. and to his casually asked what's up, came anjali's reply, "chhotey khushi ji ke babuji ko dil ka daura pada hai," khushi's father has had a heart attack.

he's shocked.when did you drop her home, asks anjali. he didn't. the scene plays back in his head... he had thrown her out of the car and slammed some money into her hand when she'd asked worried and frightened, but how will i get home. his eyes darken in repentance. that anger of his.

"khushi ji, aap bahut himmatwali hain... aap ko to aapka parivar ko sambhalna hai," khushi, you are very courageous, you will have to take care of your family, says anjali to khushi. and suddenly khushi can't be strong any more. beautifully written and directed this young girls's rising angst, worry, struggle to overcome, and need to just let go.

she walks away and finds a quiet seat. body arched, wrapping her helplessness around her, she prays to the one she knows, the one that is always there.

"shakti dena, devi maiya...," a call to her heart's mother. the one who sits there, steady, unmoving, always.

"shakti dena," give me strength.

eyes closed, she seeks an inner calm.

then her lids flutter, just an instant later enters the stream of wind, far then near, swirling...

camera closes in on a girl feeling things, someone...?!?

she turns her head.

and he stands there.

something in his eyes, everything in his eyes.

camera rushes toward him... khushi's heart, her mind rushing up to him?

in the silence, just the silence, and the rustle of wind.

finally, just one word from him... "khushi...," a gentle call, lilting up at the end, as if to say, i had to come, i am here, do you need me?

slowly she gets up as though hypnotised and starts to move toward him in a daze almost.

a swallow, he can see her state and it hurts him, so much pain in those young eyes, sparkling so often with all her irritating nonsense talk, huge smile always on. look at her now.

is a telepathic conversation on?... she senses his concern, his wanting to help her, she begins to rush toward him, suddenly wanting his solidity desperately...

and in a few short steps, she has run right up to him and wrapped her arms around him, resting her head on his chest. snuggling her head deeper against him, like that face of hers on his palm that very morning...

rabba ve... yes, this is a moment blessed. for here is the truth that will triumph over all, especially the darkness spilling all over their lives right now.

i can't do it any more, i don't have himmat, i can't do this any more,  lost my father once before, i  can't do it again... "humse dubara nahin hoga... nahin hoga humse," she whimpers. he has never seen her so distraught.

"nahin hai himmat hum me... hum poori tarah se toot chuke hain." i don't have the courage, i am broken in every way.

his eyes close as the pain sears him becoming his for that instant.

khushi is broken? no!

his arms come up, but something holds him back

his agony, his dilemma, all evident in his still frame and a balled fist, a cut gleaming fresh red on it. haanh maar daloonga, how dare anyone touch you, yes, i'll kill him. nainital is where she became his own in ways no one can clearly fathom.

Episode 100 Part 2

The Seed Has been Planted

The seed has been planted.  Buaji and Garima are discussing what Sashi was trying to say and Shyam has answered that maybe he was talking about Kushi's marriage.  Of course, that is it!  He has always been concerned of marrying his daughters and especially Kushi since she is the feisty one.  Payal being a '"suitable" girl will be easily married but Kushi and her personality, well, that's a different story.  Shyam has them totally convinced that that was what Sashi was trying to say.  Buaji is convinced that Sashi will be unable to recover until this situation is settled.  Shyam around the bend is sitting and smiling slyly.  The seed has been planted!

In ASR's room he is still looking worried.  Lavanya comes and hugs him saying it has been so long since they have seen each other.  She hugs him which instantly sends images of Kushi's hug to his mind.  He hugs Lavanya back closing his eyes, imagining Kushi and says, "don't worry all will be fine."  For him he is telling his Kushi this but unfortunately it is Lavanya who is receiving it. She asks about Chamkilli's father and tells him his mood is off so she will make him a surprise.

Back at the hospital Kushi has received the hospital bill and she tells the doctor that she will be paid soon.  He tells her not to worry that her ties to the Raizada family will help since they make many donations to that hospital.  He also lets her know that miracles happen and her father can recover.  She agrees that he will recover with Devi Maiyya's help.

Back at RM Lavanya brings pakoras she has made herself to ASR.  Lavanya asks him why he is so upset.  Anjali answers the question as she looks with concern at her brother.  She answers only people who have lost their parents could understand how he is feeling.  How they are need of support.  He is thinking to himself that that was all Kushi wanted from him, a few words of support.  He feels terribly upset he could not give her what she needed most.

Babuji is home!  The girls are giving him words of encouragement that they are all there and will take care of him.  He will be all right soon!  Kushi says she will be right back and the others will go to the temple.  Buaji will stay with her brother.

Kushi goes to the RM and meets with ASR.  He looks up to see her and is brought back to the moment of Kushi hugging him.  They are both embarrassed, her for her behavior and him for not being able to give her what she needed. Just as he was about to say something to her, Anjali comes and asks her about her father.  Kushi answers they have brought him home.  She says she has come for her salary, she hands him a tiffin asking him to place her salary in it.  He hands her a check for 27,000 instead of 30,000.  Kushi is surprised that he is paying by check since she expected cash but says no problem she will go to the bank instead.  She is shocked to see the check amount and says the agreement was for the 30.  He says the accountant must have subtracted for TDS. Anjali tells her about taxes as she had no idea.  She looks worried and concerned, how will she pay the bill now?  He leaves.  She thinks to herself he just doesn't understand.  Anjali asks if there is anything Kushi needs and she says no and leaves.

He comes back, asks where did she go and Anjali says she left but she is worried about paying the hospital bill.  He is in deep thought as he is holding another check in his hand for her.  The seed has been planted here as well, there is something he can do for her, something he does and knows very well, finances.

At the Gupta house, Shyam like a slithering snake goes to Sashi.  He shows him the ring he has bought for Kushi and his engagement.  Sashi lies there helplessly with tears falling down his face. He says he is married to Anjali, his queen, his fortune, but his heart only belongs to Kushi. God has given him two hands so why can't he have two wives?  Shyam is so cunning and is throwing it all in Sashi face.  Sashi is helpless and can not stop the seed of weeds that have been planted from growing.

But maybe Buaji can?

Again wonderful title, cynthia πŸ˜ƒ   I thought initially that khushi's family is concerned about khushi's marriage because of her orphan status but later from buaji's comments realized that this girl is not ideal for a bahu status as per the conservative society !!   you are right that was the fear.. khushi's fiesty nature :O

your simple rendition of the episode was soothing to read πŸ˜ƒ  I always wondered how la never grasped Arnav's disinterest in her !!  I feel sorry for her.. wish she had realized ,.. her pain would have been lesser

This poem is dedicated to Wiwy, since I got this idea as I was thinking about her riddle. Thank you Wiwy for taking me to the world of RK movies. πŸ€—

This Arshi poem has names of Raj Kapoor movies, which are highlighted in bold italics.

In donon ko saath dekhkar nikalti hai ek Aah
In donon ki chemistry se lag jaati hai Aag
Pehla hug tha inka Barsaat mein
Chori chori hoti hain inke Rabba vey
Anari hai donon dil ke maamle mein
Prem rog lag gaya, donon ye na jaane
Sangam inka hoga kaise, ab ye dekhna hai
Bas yehi ek khwaaish hai, aakhir Dil hi to hai

Translation:
Looking at both of them comes out a sigh (Aah)
With their chemistry there's fire (Aag)
Their first hug was in the rain (Barsaat)
(Chori chori) In hiding their Rabba vey takes place
(Anari) Amateurs both are in the matters of the heart
They have got love sickness (Prem rog), both don't know
How will their union(Sangam) take place, is what to be seen
Just this is the one wish, after all it is just the heart (Dil hi to hai)

Good job Durga.. RK film names were well used to bring out the prem between arshi .. how about awara, naseeb, dastaan  ..

@Ami

Episode 93 (maha)- 94

"Arnav is on his way to  Naninital telling someone on the phone that he is "akela (alone)", little does he know the dupatta had done its job splendidly giving the two love birds to connect on a different level. " - 😳 very well said..truly the dupatta has done its job

"When khushi's started to work for the RM, it's viewed as their symbolic union, so i'd like to think nainital  is their symbolic honeymoon..without the honey...but here will be plenty of romance and even  a mocked suhaag raat , and most importantly they'll come back  closer than ever like all honeymooners should."
Awesome⭐️ πŸ‘ i agree here...Nainital is thr only getaway they ever got....they din even get to go on their honeymoon...before they could enjoy tht they hav been married...they already got a kid!!!

Khushi comes to in true khushi style thinking the lights are off, till she feels the jhatka of Arnav's brakes.πŸ˜†" well said

"She does the first logical thing  and screams her lungs out for help, "Bachaao Bachaaao Bachhaooo!!!!"  - i soo loved her here πŸ˜ƒ

"Arnav hears the faint commotion but is distracted  by a phone calls, or driving.  Luckily for this stress eater, she packed some pakodas which she devours in while putting up with Arnav's honking "LG ki gaadi bhi unki tarah hai, jba dekho pe pee pen"
she tries to scream for help again, this time he can't ignore it. he walks towards his trunk,  and hears her loud and clear...closing his eyes "UNBELIEVABLE man". he opens the trunk, and there she is his own Sanaka eating pakoda, in the back of his trunk. "What the f-" ...the funny music makes the scene even funnier" - πŸ‘ really well written

- πŸ˜† nice expressions

"Kya, how will get home?" Arnav tells her to sit in the car, she's surpirsed "what, you'll drop me home?"
"aur nahi to kya tumhe beech sadak chhod ke (ofcourse what else will i do drop you off in the middle of the road?)..." as the words come out he must stop himself, flashes of him doing exactly that run by...Khushi's pain from that night is still there,  and he sees it, but she she also sees the guilt on his face and remains quiet. She could've easily rubbed it in his face.

- i can see the guilt nd the pain...πŸ‘πŸΌ

"It's actually really sweet how she let him slide.  Then again, she did feel his presence that night outside the GH when he came to check up on her...It's possible she forgave him." - i think she lets him slip cause she knws abt his parents nd the other fact Khushi is not a one who holds grudges...so yeah she could hav forgiven him!! he did ask remember...tht itself has wiped away all the hurt he has caused her!!!

" Khushi makes him realize that he should also be more understanding of her nature...he doesn't allow himself to dwelve, "Hurry up and sit in the car!" πŸ‘πŸΌ

"Love how he opens the car door for her ASR ishstyle." - me too πŸ˜ƒ
"A sign of respect to the girl who thinks she belongs back in the trunk😳.. Another sweet moment came when he sped up the car then slowed down seeing Khushi's fear. She knew he did it because he remembered, there was appreciation on her face."

- really nice edit

All was going smoothly till the fuel light went off. after a "dammit" moment Arnav is puzzled "how's that possible? i just filled the tank this morning"...He should've known to look at the suddenly quiet passenger of his with her signature finger in mouth when she does something wrong. πŸ˜† true...

"gaadi mein petrol khatam to phir romance he romance" she wanted to make this a romantic trip for La, but as all journeys of  Arnavji are meant to be with her not La, she gets to enjoy all the romance coming her way. Amazing romance, though some of it disguised in lots of irritation, cute antics and some of it just plain simple gorgeous romance." 😳 bring it on Ami

"Sure enough, they find themselves strapped in the middle of the road. A very cute entertaining scene follows. She volunteers to push the car to the gas station, he tells her to quietly sit in the car and steer.  The scene is handled with a comic spin, but seems she maybe to pushing to push for a reason" - πŸ‘ well said...the scene had really good humor, lines nd was definitely adorable one 😊

"
she is worried that he is still weak as he fainted just today. Ofcourse Arnav felt fine and was just taking his jacket off...he must be hot, the heat and on top his own hotness...poor guy😳." She tests his patience some more, telling him to go left when he's going right and vice versa, so he decides to fulfill her wish, "thoda sa hai na? to tum kar lo"  -
haha so cute

"elated she gets out of the car, mumbling "Jab shakar manna hai to takkat kahan se aayegi ?"🀣
this episode had really awesome line...surely cracked me up!!!

"When the car doesn't move an inch Arnav decided to go out and watch her pushing the car with all her might. He comes off irritated, but definetly lets out a vibe of amusement. "

❀️ this...the effect is too good πŸ‘

this is really cute πŸ˜ƒ

DM is on a missiom  today, Khushi may have stolen the fuel but she certainly didn't flatten the tyre.πŸ‘πŸΌ  A few more funny dialogues follow when Khushi mistakes his talking  on the blue tooth to her.

"Khushi doesn't know how to wear it and cant' hear anything so, he puts it on for her.  Its the way he puts it on that slows down the moment, and increases her heartbeat.
Slowly, with his fingers, he moves her hair behind her ear and gently he attaches the device on her ear, all the while she not minding at all...even stealing  a long glance at him, attracting a quick glance from him too. " - i knw right...it was so damn romantic...he puts it on her so adoringly 😳 nd very mushy written review πŸ‘

- Ami all 3 edits are simply superb βοΈπŸ‘... Love them i can totally feel the rabba ve ❀️

"Khushi's desires for him have awakened for him in the Kitchen today when he fainted, and the comfort level of his nearness seems to have gone up."

"Arnav has alway felt comfortable around her, enough to yell at her, become irritated with her and treat her like she is his own and he has the right to do things like putting her hair behind her ears. 😳Something must be said of the increased  comfort level  on Khushi's side during this whole trip. She feels comfortable enough to chat away a like a chatter box, say and do whatever comes to her mind, make him stay at the dhaba with her OTT drama and just be totally Khushi around him. " -Ami Superbly written.⭐️...Arnav  has totaly Haq on her ..nd yeah by now..they both r comfortable around each other πŸ˜ƒ

" Arvav Singh Raizada tries hitchhiking while Khushi tries to use those pakodas to  get a ride. One pakoda for one kilometer...how many pakoda were in there? or better question how many were left after Khushi stress eating?πŸ˜† good question..m sure she made plenty to last a trip with her LG 😳
When the get nowhere Arnav get fed up and grab his things

"hmmm had she not followed him, wonder how long he would've been able to walk before regret would kick in and turning around for her...not long i imagine."- i would say precisely two min before he turns bck nd brings her along πŸ˜‰

But worried of her own well being, she did follow him,  tries to hide the fact. Her ego gets in her way too, she doesn't want to admit that she needs him.

πŸ‘πŸΌ

She doesn't know he can feel her.  "khushi kumaari gupta, i know you're behind me, you can come out from behind that tree" and had she not made a last minute move, he would've been right about the tree she was hiding behind. And thus began their walking journey. πŸ‘ very well written

"Just can't help compare this scene to a classic song featuring another all time fav couple of mine, "Ghazab ka hai din" from Quayamat se Quayamat Tak.  the resembalence is uncanny, Two lovers surrounded by forest trees with the sun ray being down on them, the girl in bit of a jhalli mood, having a little fun in the journey "Tum ho akele hum bhi akele maza aa raha hai",  and the man only worried about getting to their destination. Juhi's child like innocent behavior, esp in the end where she has messed with all of the marking Aamir made is totally a Khushi move. the scene has to be inspired from that song . Take a look if time permits, all i saw was Arnav and Khushi.πŸ‘" - really good comparison...πŸ‘
i too love this song...thought abt it later while doin the collage..it fits perfectly for them πŸ˜ƒ

Khushi continues to test his patience with her chatter box, as smitten as he with her child-like personality,πŸ‘  he reaches his breaking point. "ENOUGH!...chup ekdam chup" but his first warning doesn't stop her. "Five minutes, can you stay quiet for five-minutes? otherwise i'll cut half of you pay"

πŸ‘ good edit

"No answer from behind? you can see the worry in his eyes as they move left to right in anticipation of her voice.  Just like Aamir in the song,  He turns around to the horror of no one being there.

"Khushi? I don't believe this, i know you're behind me Khushi Kumarr Gupta, jaldi saamne aao, hurry up and come out! this is not funny"  His anxiety is so  perfectly depicted here by Sobti as he tries to maintain his cool for the girl that has a habit of  playing pranks on him.  "this is not funny" his clear stance on what she puts him through  when he has to worry about her safety, He'll say the same thing on the clifftop after the kidnap scene when he desperately wants a response from his unconscious Khushi...Its just now funny to him. " -πŸ‘ really well said on the bold part

when the salary threat didn't work, he panics

"Khushi?" he puts his bag down, the one that was so important to him for his conference. nothing is more important now than to see her safe in his "samne(front)" ..."Jaldi (fast)" 😳 he cares so much abt her...why can't he just admit to it

"khushi!"
"Khushi!"
"Khushi!"

Still no answer, the shivers are filld in his voice as he screams her name as loud as he can
"KHUSHI!!!"

- πŸ‘

"Ghazab ka hai din (its one heck of a day)" indeed! - truly!!!
He screams his name a few more times before his eyes for on a broke bangel, bright blue that would match well with the dress she was wearing. Hi picks it up  "Khushi?" immense fear  in his soft call. Brilliant voice modulations!πŸ‘πŸΌ

"KHUSHI!"..."kaha dhoondu usse dammit?(where should i look for her dammit?)"
Then the same voice he wanted to silence desperately a few moments ago become music to his ears. now he can breathe

"Arnavji!"
Immediate relief on his face, she asks what time it is and leaves Arnav totally baffled "What!"
"If your 5 minutes are up i can tell you that i fell behind you"

"How quickly he turns around, to finder her in a big hole, after his initial "angry" look, it changes to worry and care "Khushi tumhe chot to nahi lagi? .Only after a "no" gesture from her, he lets his anger out. "I've calling for you for so long! Couldn't you say anything sooner? looking for you like a crazy person and you!-" - Love his concern for her here 😊

she cuts him short "Arrey, if i would've answer then you would've taken half my salary na?" πŸ˜†
i'm so glad for this dialogue, it shows just how much her "chupi" bothers him. telling her point blank, " you don't talk when you should" like during  teej, storage room, or the anniversary party.  Gotta love when the writers who sneak in details like that.πŸ‘

"niklo bahaar!"

this is a nice one

"Soft tender music comes  and he extends his hand to her, after she rescues the pakoda container adding to ASR's irritation, she extends her hand, he pulls her up and she crashes into his soulder and she clings, like its a reflex. πŸ˜³" - Wonderfully written

Yes, she was scared and she needed him. He is overwhelmed with her so close, gesturing for his protection.

this is too good πŸ‘

"hey, hey Rabba ve". Both feeling at home, not wanting to let go. He doesn't budge, she lifts her head up,

πŸ‘πŸ‘

Intense gaze from both, before she struggles to let go of his shoulder and stepback.😳

 β€οΈ in Love with this

If the moment hadn't ended with Khushi noticing the mudd she got on his vest, wonder if Arnav would've started singing Aamir's lines πŸ˜†

"Kya kahoon mera jo haal hai, raat din tumhara khayal hai"
"What shall i say what my situation is, night and day i think of you"

Ok so he wouldn't have sang it out loud, but maybe in his head? She pats down his vest to get it clean, this time, its her with full rights.  Now its off to their next destination..."the dhaba"

too HOT HOT HOT to handle!!!❀️❀️

Ami this is just a brilliant fun filled romantic analysis of yoursπŸ‘βοΈ...i enjoyed readin nd commentin on every part...your edits in between are just awesome❀️...Lovely analysis...i was smilin throughout πŸ˜ƒ

I went to this stationary store with my daughter, because she wanted to buy something for school. While I was there, I glanced at the magazines and newspapers that were put on display. Among the local magazines, kids books and newspapers I saw, a magazine named People. I wasn't sure if it was THE book, so I went closer and saw BS's pic on the cover. I actually was surprised to find that book in the store. I thought I should tell the shopkeeper how much this book is being discussed and has such an international demand. Anyway, I had decided I wasn't buying the book, as I had already read the interview and the pics were all over the forum.

Half an hour later, sitting at home, holding the People's magazine in my hand, I was wondering why did I have to buy that book! Strange feeling, I was happy and angry at myself at the same time. πŸ˜†

Thank you so much, Ritu. There were many other names too in my mind, while I was writing the poem. Had to discard them as the poem seemed like getting too long.  Anyway, I will try to compile some more and try to give Part 2 sometime later.

Thanks God for this show, 25-30 epis? back-to-back?  yeah been there done that too!πŸ˜† Like Cyn put it, our "safety net" truly!! this show is magic!
