Bahrain Grand Prix 2013 – Winners and Review
Bahrain was all set to host the 4th Race of the Formula 1 Season of 2013. As mentioned in our earlier post Chinese Grand Prix 2013 – Winner and Reviews, the third race was filled with drama and action. So did the Bahrain Grand Prix live up to the expectations? How was the starting grid, who won the race, was there any controversies during the race? Well, hang on, all you need to do is sit back and relax. AsiDubba has all the details for you right here.
All eyes were on Alonso for the Bahrain Grand Prix, as he was the winner in the previous race in China. But as they say that it all depends on the Qualifying results and the starting grid. So did Alonso manage to take pole position for the Bahrain Grand Prix? Or did Sebastian Vettel from Red Bull Racing mange to beat him? Well, let's find it out.
To everyone's surprise, Nico Rosberg from team Mercedes managed to take the pole position for the race. The starting grid looked like this – 1. Nico Rosberg, Mercedes-Mercedes, 2. Sebastian Vettel, Red Bull-Renault, 3) Fernando Alonso,Ferrari 4) Lewis Hamilton,Mercedes, 5) Mark Webber,Red Bull, 6) Felipe Massa,Ferrari, 7) Paul di Resta, Force India Adrian Sutil, Force India 9) Kimi Rikknen,Lotus 10) Jenson Button, McLaren and the remaining 12 followed them. It was good news for all the Indian fans that have been following Force India, to see both the drivers in top 10 after qualifying round.
So, it was time for the formation lap and then the start of the race. Lap one has always been crucial in terms of deciding who will lead the race. Till Lap 3, Rosberg was leading the race, but it was very difficult to maintain the lead as Sebastian Vettel and Alonso were pushing him. Soon Vettel had managed to overtake Rosberg and was leading the race. Massa was having a tough race as his right rear tire had a puncture and was brought into the pits just then.
Kimi Raikkonen and Romain Grosjean did give their best shot to chase Vettel, but could not pass him. Paul Di Resta from Force India had a great race and managed to hold on to the fourth position. But there was nothing that could stop Sebastian Vettel and after 57 laps and he did pass the Chequered Flag. After four rounds, Vettel still leads the title chase with 77 points, from Raikkonen on 67, Alonso on 47, Hamilton on 50, Massa on 30 andWebber on 32. In the constructors' stakes, Red Bull has 109, Lotus 93, Ferrari 77, Mercedes 64, and Force India 26 and McLaren with 23 points.
The next race will be held in Spain on 12th May. So can Vettel be able to maintain his lead? It will be interesting to see if he is challenged by any other driver.
