without further adieu here is the update:just to refresh your memory a bit... Maan and Geet were married. It was marriage by love for Maan and marriage by force for Geet. After initial hiccups Maan has decided to make his wife fall for him while Geet is trying her best to not fall for his charms. Magar kya karein she cannot seem to resist him. They come to a village wedding celebrations where a new boy on the block seems to throw water on all of Maan's attempts to woo his wife. The latest with getting Geet to dance along with the new guy, Charan has Maan boiling. After finding her almost dressed for the sangeet, he goes to adorn her in his own romantic style. Things get hotter but Maan gains his control back and leaves... and now aage 😃 (i sound like those serial recaps 😳) Chapter 26: Nachle Ve! (Dance Baby Dance!)
Stage was set and sangeet was about to start in a few minutes. Relatives old and young gathered in the main hall and patiently waited for entertainment to begin. Lights had been dimmed with curtains down in order for the people to get into their positions on stage.
Geet straightened her dress, ironing out any crevices, as she stood nervously behind the stage. Anushka had informed her that her act was first and that she should position herself on the right entrance of the stage. Her hair had been neatly tied into a side bun with jasmine flowers around it, making her look like a beautiful village belle. Anushka gushed her attire suited her like second skin and people watching her performance today wouldn't dare see anybody but her. Geet had admonished her compliment quickly saying that she was neither pretty nor a good dancer to have people watch her. And also through the rehearsals she had come to realize Charan was an amazing dancer so people wouldn't have a chance to take their eyes off him.
"Deny as much as you want Geet, magar Anushka's andaaz kabhi galat nahi hoga," Anushka's words rung in her ears.
Geet stood tapping her foot in nervousness as her group dancers filed around her getting ready for their cue to enter when she suddenly felt someone harshly pulling her. Extremely annoyed at the sudden jerk, she opened her mouth to give him/her her piece of mind but words fail to come out. She saw a pair of dark chocolate brown eyes stare back at her. She could clearly see anger written all over making his eyes look like burning embers. He had cornered her against some wall, away from all the people. His hands blocked her exit from both sides as he had them placed on her sides.
"Maan?" she whispered her voice hardly recognizable even to her.
"How could you Geet?" he spat, his eyes roaming all over her face.
"Kya hua Maan?" she asked bewildered at his sudden question.
"Voh, voh peeche ka kahaan hai?" he stumbled for the lack of a better word. Geet touched her back to see if any of her doris had come off. But everything seemed intact after her thorough checking.
"Peeche?" she asked finally perplexed at his words.
"Tum yeh dance nahi kar rahi ho samjhi," he ordered furiously. "Especially in that pathetic piece of dress you are wearing."
"But Maan I cannot back out now," she cried at his sudden change of mind.
"Voh sab mujhe pata nahi, you are not dancing that's it!"
"Maan! Yeh kya tamasha kade kar rahe ho? Agar aapko problem tha then you should have told me when we had decided I would dance," she tried to reason.
"Geet, stop testing my patience," he fought back.
"Main!" she exclaimed incredulously, "I am testing your patience?"
"Haan tum, now go and change into something decent," he said, urgency evident in his tone.
Geet tried to calm herself down at his sudden ridiculous outburst. Couldn't he have stopped her from dancing in the first place? He even had a chance to tell her not to dance when he came to adorn her with all those accessories. But no, his majesty had to come and make a scene right before the event was set to begin. She obviously couldn't back out last minute and spoil Chaitu's marriage. She made up her mind to confront him later and explain him logically why she couldn't drop out of the dance last minute. She took a long breath and squared her shoulders to face him, "Maan dekhiye, main aapse baad mein baat karti hoon. Ab mujhe chalna chahiye, my dance is starting in few seconds," she said slightly pushing him and stepping away from the wall. "Teekhai?" she said patting his cheek before rushing to the stage.
Maan saw her retreating figure and stomped his foot angrily. His mind tried to reason she had a point but his heart refused to listen. From the time he came back from her room he had become quite restless. First he felt guilty of walking into her room and accessorizing her without her permission. On top of that he had taken a step further and became quite intimate with her. He clenched his fists at the mere thought of taking advantage of her vulnerable position. He had promised himself he wouldn't resort to physical intimacy until he felt she would be comfortable with it. But he had ruthlessly stepped over his boundaries and gone to do what he had feared. Wanting to apologize for his roguish behavior, he tried to find her backstage at Anushka's instructions. He had nervously walked towards her but his sudden guilt changed into anger when he found her dressed in that pathetic piece excused in the name of clothes. Could they even call that skimpy piece of clothing as blouse? It hardly had anything except a few strings to hold them together. And the thought of all those bloody scoundrels shamelessly drool over her made his blood boil in anger. If he were given a chance he would simply squish those mosquitoes with his bare hands. He scratched his head trying to reason how he had looked over it when he went to see her in her room but soon anger clouded his judgment causing him to rush to her. Forgetting his actual reason he had began to admonish her for her attire and force her to back out or at least change into something else that covered her full body. But Geet had simply shrugged away as though it was completely fine to be wearing such clothes. His ego had been absolutely crushed at her nonchalant behavior. He slumped his shoulders in defeat. "Fine, she wants to give a damn about what I think," he spat irately, "let's see how far can her don't care attitude go before it breaks!"
The curtains slowly opened revealing a typical village set up with a cardboard tractor on the left corner and a well on the right. Hay was sprinkled around the stage to reflect an agricultural field. Mud pots and other mud utensils were decorated beautifully near the well. Charan was sitting in the middle of the stage with people attending to him while the music in the background hummed. He was dressed in red flowery shirt along a pair of golden yellow pants matching Geet. He had stylishly tied a golden yellow satin scarf and sported brown Ray-Ban aviators.
Hmm hey eee eee eee (Music)
As the music got louder people around him began to snap their fingers to match the beat of the song while he got up removing his aviators to wink at the crowd. The crowd cheered back in response with claps and hoots. He tapped his foot and looked to the side signaling Geet to enter. Music blared in the background while Charan deftly moved his arms and legs in sync with the music.
Singarenundi bogge nindindi
Polavaram vundi polame pandindi
Konaseema vundi koke kattindi
Kanne pillaa vundi kanne chedirindi
Cheyyedo cheyyalandi kaaledo veyyalandi
Charan came around to stand behind her and mouth the lyrics while adeptly dancing to the catchy tune and she supported him by swaying her hips to the song. Maan watched her stand with her hands on her hips and blink her eyes rapidly while giving a sweet smile as Charan pointed towards her. Maan fumed seeing her coolly shake her hips to the music as though she hardly cared what he had said a few moments ago backstage. A waiter carrying all types of hard liquor passed by him. He harshly took a glass from the waiter's plate and gulped down its contents without second thought.
Gajjala pattel thera naa cherry cherry
Naa kannevayasu theerchamandi worry worry
Gajjala pattel thesthaade cherry cherry
Nuvvadiginde istha dont worry worry
It was Geet's turn to sing. She couldn't mouth the words but she let her steps prove worthy of the song that blared from surrounding stereos. She pointed her to feet with a cute pout, showing that she wasn't wearing any anklets while Charan instantly produced a pair of tinkling anklets from his pockets making Geet jump in excitement. Maan clenched his fist at her simple reaction that was required for the song. Moments of their intimacy as he adorned her a while ago in her room reeled in front of him like a movie. Jealousy and possessiveness coursed through him as he saw Charan bend down to clip on those anklets. He was doing something that was solely Maan's right. He forcefully took another glass of liquor from a passing waiter. He gulped down the contents in one go allowing the liquid to burn down his throat.
Pandla thota vundi pandu thempaledu
chintha chiguru vundi pulupu chudaledu
paala muntha vundi junnu thiyyaledu
kurra kantha vundi kougilinthaledu
hey pedavedo pettalandi nadumedo pattalandi
pavita billa thera naa cherry cherry
pallakilo vastha dont worry worry
yedu gurralekkostha pori pori

Charan came around to pull her into an embrace only for Geet to push him a little showing her tongue. He fell into the hands of the group dancers behind startled at her sudden reaction only to have them laugh at him. He pouted like a child making her feel bad for pushing him so she called him near, giving him a flying kiss. He instantly lit up at her move and ran to her winking at the dancers at his success in getting her to melt. 'He pouts and he gets a flying kiss and I, her husband, hardly get a glance!' he thought angrily forgetting all this was part of choreography and drama. This time he didn't pull a glass from the passing waiter but took the whole bottle of scotch before chugging down its contents and wiping the remnants of the liquid on his lips with the back of his hand.
Patte mancham vundi pakka ekka ledu
pala glassu vundi engili kaledu
anta eduruga vundi artam iteledu

darvaza muyyalandi .. Karbuza iiyali andi
idimattal tera na cherry cherry..venta padi vastadu worry worry
busal tadu testane pori pori .. Pastu inka ledu don't worry worry
Dancers brought a handmade cot from the side to keep it in the center of stage. Charan hopped on to it and assumed a sleeping position with his hand under his head miming the song. Geet picked up the glass of milk from a group dancer and forward it towards Charan only for him to reject it outrightly. She twitched her lips in mock anger forcefully shoved it to the same dancer spilling few drops of milk around. He got off the cot as she called him closer before biting her finger and shying down like a bride. Ecstatic that she called her, he gave a thumbs up to the crowd saying he was successful before running to hug her while the group dancers surrounded him calling the end of their dance.
Curtains dropped down as the crowd hooted and clapped for the first dance. Maan was about to walk away when he felt somebody cling to him. "Maanu chaliye na, humara program hai, we need to get ready backstage," Soniya cooed batting her eyelashes. Well if Geet could have no problem sashaying her hips with that good for nothing flirt, he definitely could shake his leg with this woman here; what had Geet named her, chudail, haan chudail, he thought gleefully before going to the backstage. He walked with Soniya clinging on to him to the backstage. He had reluctantly let her hold him but when his eyes met the woman who was torturing his heart, he glared at her, tightening his grip around Soniya.
Geet had just come back from her dance and stood chatting with Charan, complimenting him for putting up such a nice show when she saw Maan pass her. She suddenly became conscious and turned to look at him. Something did seem wrong yet she couldn't point a finger at it. She furrowed her eyebrows wondering if he still was in a foul mood but soon forgot about it when she saw him tighten his grip around that chudail. 'He adorns me with jewelry but her with his own hands!' she thought pouting like a child. "Aane do use, main dekh loongi," she muttered under her breath.
"Kya hua Geetji?" she heard Charan ask, confused at her sudden murmuring.
"Haan, kuch nahi," she assured with a wide smile. "Teekhai I am going to change for the finale performance," she said and left before Charan could find an excuse to stop her.
Geet was about to head to the green room to change but was curious to see Maan dance. She walked to the other side of the backstage from where she could peep and watch his dance without going all the way out where audience sat. Stage was cleared of hay and other village setting and replaced with some palm trees along with sand spread all over the stage. Music began and she saw that chudail sway her hips seductively.
Mashallah mashallah?
Woh oh ho..
Lyrics blared through the speakers causing her eyes to widen in utter shock. She stood her mouth agape as Maan entered wearing simple khakhi pants paired with a chest hugging T-shirt. A checkered scarf hung around his neck giving him a nice casual look. "Haila Babaji!" she mumbled, blinking twice to be sure it was her husband on the stage rather than some Greek God walking down the lane. But before she could completely swoon over his rugged looks she saw him pull Soniya towards him mouthing the song. "Mashallah!" she fumed, "uska chehra mashallah aur mera kya scowling karela?" She was about to march on to the stage and disrupt the act when she felt someone jerk her back.
"Geet tum abhi tak yahaan ho?" Anushka reprimanded. "Chalo you need to change for the finale dance," she said dragging Geet to green room. "Now come on, change and I shall do your final touch up as soon as I am back from my dance." Geet reluctantly nodded in agreement before going to change.
Geet came back to sit in front of the mirror after she had changed into a beautiful lehga choli complimenting her fair skin. Hot pink blouse with shimmering embellishments contrasted with olive green skirt giving her a royal look.
"Tu toh kinni soni lag rahi hai kudiye," Geet heard an older lady approach her. "Nazar na lag jayein," the lady giggled running a hand around her face before cracking her knuckles as though removing an evil eye before placing a dash of khol behind Geet's ear.
"Ji thank you," Geet replied politely before going to sit on the chair. But before she could sit she got a fit of hiccups urging her to find a glass of water. She hurriedly saw around the room to find no bottles. She ran out f the room still hiccupping looking for water. She was about to run to kitchen when she found three glasses of water sitting on the window ledge. Without second thought she rushed to grab a glass and gulp it down. Finishing it, she let out a sigh only to begin another round of hiccups. She once again grabbed the next glass and drank it away quickly in spite of a funny smell emanating from it. Letting the liquid travel down her throat, she turned to examine the glass. She found nothing wrong except a sticky sweet smell. Not being satisfied with two glasses of it, she took the last one and drank it, enjoying it this time. Finally done with it she kept the glass down and turned to return to green room.
"Geet tu aagayi, chalo I was waiting for you. The last finale is on next," Anushka announced wearing her jhumka before grabbing her and walking to the stage. Geet felt a little dizzy but soon shook it off thinking it was due to her not eating properly since morning. "Geet stay here, I'll get the others," she heard Anushka say before disappear among the crowd. Once again a dizzy spell cast over her causing her to lose her balance. She blinked in confusion before shrugging it off and decided to get a glass of water when she turned to see that chudail walk with Maan.
"Teri toh," she threatened pointing her finger at Soniya before staggering towards her. But instead of going to her she found herself going towards the DJ who was about to put the next song CD and pushing him away.
"Hey what are you doing lady?" the DJ called out but it was too late. Geet had already started to play some other song on the playlist.
O mainu tere naal tere naal..?
O mainu tere naal tere naal
Love ho gaya
Geet heard the lyrics blare throughout the hall and gleefully smiled before running to stage in the middle of the stage as though she was positioning to begin a dance number.
Ho Punjab ya ho pardes mein?
Jeeta hai jatt saari race mein?
Peeta hai par do Hi case mein?
Ishq howe ya na ishq howe
Song began and to the horror of the people behind the stage Geet mouthed the lyrics while dancing randomly. Having no option all other dancers got on to the stage trying to salvage Geet's mistake. Anushka and Charan came to her wondering what went wrong. But Geet seemed to be in her own world dancing away while the other dancers tried to follow her. Seeing she was about to fall down, Charan lunged forward to catch her. He tried to straighten her only to get a whiff of alcohol on her. He tried to pat her cheeks to get her to tell whether she drunk but it was of no use. He then tried to pull her off the stage not wanting to create more drama but she pushed him away and went about dancing to the song. He turned to gesture Anushka that he would take care before running to join Geet.
Pee pa pee pa ho gaya?
Ho jat pee ke peepa ho gaya?
Pee pa pee pa ho gaya?
Ho jat pee ke peepa ho gaya'. aaha haa
Audience seemed to be unaware of the error and was enjoying the show put up for them. Everyone were having fun dancing around the stage while Geet came to stand in front along with Charan supporting her steps all the while.
Maan saw the confusion and crinkled his eyebrows wondering what all the commotion was. He somehow managed to pry off of Soniya's grip and came to see why people were running hither and thither muttering something incorrigible. He crooned his neck to see through those throngs of people crowding the stage only to widen his eyes in shock. Before she could create a bigger tamasha he entered the stage to see her tie her duppatta onto her head like a crown.
Haan ji?Haan haa haan ji (Haan Ji)?
Hanji Han ye naye aye he?
Aaj sapne sang laye he?
Hanji han ye naye aye he?
Ruk ja ruk ja ruk ja ruk ja?
Jukthe karle peri pena?ha ye teri parjai he?
Jukthe karle peri pena?
Juk ja juk ja juk ja juk ja?
Juk ja juk ja juk ja?
Ruk ja ruk ja ruk ja ruk ja juk ja juk ja juk ja juk jaa?
Juktha he vo jeethak rehtha
Geet was shaking her hips as Charan stood close mouthing the song. They were about to walk away when Maan forcefully pulled them back gesturing Charan to bend down and take her blessings as she was her parjai (sister-in-law) like in the song. Charan was surprised to see Maan suddenly enter the picture and reluctantly bowed down to Geet like her was told. Geet giggled at their little showdown before continuing to sway in intoxication.
Pee pa pee pa ho gaya?
Ho jat pee ke peepa ho gaya?
Pee pa pee pa ho gaya?
Ho jat pee ke peepa ho gaya'.
Tere naal tere naal love ho gaya
People around began to surround her as audience too joined in dancing and celebrating along with the to-be bride and groom. Geet and Maan to enjoyed dancing around forgetting their tiffs for a while. Song ended, much to the reluctance of the crowd but they continued to dance around in joy. Geet ended pointing to Charan mouthing the last line of the song. Startled at her sudden declaration he moved forward to hug her when Maan came around to pull her into his embrace before shrugging away she meant him. Charan pouted disappointedly while Maan dragged the now totally intoxicated Geet out into the garden to get some fresh air.
