The vehicle was ready at the back gate and they put the sedated girl inside. The car with tinted windows sped away with the princess of Devgarh while her loved one's remained blissfully unaware.
During the past week, J had mostly remained in her room, not loitering about the house; plotting her dastardly deed behind the closed doors. No one was aware of her plan, not even Akash, lest he do some goof up at the last moment.
J had managed to get the exact replica of the wedding dress of Manyata and she wore it now with the smugness of a vily vixen. She closed her eyes and imagined that she was in Udayveer's arms. His strong arms wrapped around her slim self. He whispering her name.
"uffo, itni uthawali mat bano J, pehle shaadi toh ho jaane do(don't be so desperate J, wait till the wedding is over)" she told her reflection in the mirror with the evil smile in place.
Her plan was fool proof and there was no way anyone would know who was under the heavy veil of the bride. Maybe when they find out after the wedding, there might be lot of yellings and screamings; but once Udayveer puts the Mangalsutra in J's neck, Manyata's fate is sealed.
"ab main dekhti hoon, tum Manyata se kaise shaadi karoge Veer!" Jainandini said, admiring her bridal attire in the life size mirror. She drew the veil over her face and sat there waiting for someone to come and take her down for the weddding. Sure enough Unnati came there after 5 minutes and said "arre wah Manyata, kitna pyara joda hai, aaj mere Dada ko pagal banane ka irada hai, ab neeche chalo, baarat aagayi hai(wow, Manyata, what a beautiful dress, surely my brother's gonna go mad seeing you today, now lets go down)" Unnati held her hand and raised her up.
'Unnati, tumhare dada pagal toh ho jaayenge mujhe dekh kar, par mujhe use sambhalna aata hai' thought the impostor.

He could hear some voices around him, but he couldn't point out which direction they were coming from. It seemed they were discussing a wedding which had been spoiled or about to be spoiled. He forcefully concentrated on those voices ignoring his throbbing head. Just then he felt a splash of cold water on his face. It helped clear his mind a little bit. The voices were getting clearer now.
He opened his eyes to see that he was tied to a chair. His hands were bound with a rope and two people stood before him. Looking at him as if he were a piece of meat and they were hungry dogs.
"koun ho tum log? Mujhe yahan baandh kar kyon rakha hai? Kholo mujhe! Tum log jaante nahi main koun hoon"He said gritting his teeth.
one of them said then "abey, natak band kar, tu bhi hamari tarah chindi chor tha saala, ab yuvraj ban gaya tu, ab iska kya karen(stop your acting, you are no better than us, what do we do with him)?" he asked his companion.
"ise yahi chod dete hain, waise bhi yeh factory saalon se band padi hai, yahan koi nahi aata, chilla chilla ke mar jaayega, kisi ko khabar tak nahi hogi(lets leave him here, this factory has been abandoned since long, he would die and no one would know)" He laughed.
The men left, leaving him to rely on his fate. As his mind's murkiness was fading he remembered that somebody had hit him in the head while he was taking a stroll in the garden yesterday night.
He had to get out of this hell like place for her sake, if not for himself. He felt so helpless but not totally. He always kept a pen knife in his pocket; a habit he had developed when he was a theif.
After struggiling a bit he could twist his hands a little and he tried and tried to reach the knife that was in his back pocket. Atlast he could get it out and it felt like he had found the greatest treasure ever.
He cut the bounds and got out of the factory in a hurry. He really had no time.

The bride with her face covered with the heavy ghoongat was brought to the wedding mandap.
"Dekhiye, yeh hoti hai raj kumari ki tehzeeb, kaise ghoongat se apna chehra dhaka hua hai, Maharani Komal aapne sach me Manyata ko bade achche sanskar diye hain, kash Jainandini bhi aisi hoti(see, this is how a princess should behave, you really have brought up Manyata very well, if only J was like this)" some elderly lady remarked loudly.
J felt like punching the old lady but she controlled her temper. She really would like to see the old woman's face if she came to know that J herself was there under the guise of the bride.
The groom wasn't any behind in the 'sanskaar & Parampara' department and his face was covered with the thick sehra made from jasmine flowers.

Manyata woke up in the car's back seat rubbimg her eyes. First she couldn't comprehend anything but then everything became clear. J had laced her drink with a drug and arranged for goons to kidnap her. To think that her own blood, her sister had done this to her!
The men had stopped the car and gone out; perhaps for cigarettes. Manyata could see them in the distance near a Pan shop, talking to the shop keeper. "c'mon Manyata, run for your life, this is the only chance you would get" her mind told her.where were they taking her after all? To kill her?
Would the most auspicious day decided by elders for her wedding turn out to be her last day on earth? She didn't fear death but will she never see Udayveer again?...the tears never seemed to stop. She saw that she was in a burkha with her lehenga underneath. Gathering all her strength, the better half of mighty Udayveer singh opened the car door and ran from the place. She wasn't sure where she was going but she had better get outta here before they knew.

The Groom was brought to the mandap as well and the wedding ceremonies were started right on time. No one noticed that 'J' wasn't to be seen anywhere.
'Udayveer' put the varmala in 'Manyata's neck and she did the same. He tied the Mangala sutra on her neck and she craned her neck towards him eagerly. Atlast they came to the last part of the wedding ceremony-The phera's. Jainandini felt so proud of herself. Only 5 minutes more; just one more 'Stupid' ritual(rolling her eyes) and Udayveer would be hers.
She followed him around the fire seven times and when they finished ,Panditji announced that they would remain husband and wife for seven lives and they have been that since many births. Watch out now for the ground shattering revealation! she thought.

Though he was tired, he walked briskly hoping to find some signs of humanity in this no man's land. Whoever the goons were, they had done their job pretty well. Surely no person of sound mind would approach the factory in this godforsaken place.
After walking for some half an hour he could see a house in the distance and he walked towards it slowly lest it turns out to be just a mirage. Looked like a girl was sobbing with her head bowed, sitting in the front yard of the house. He approached her and she raised her head.
