MILAN- The Final Destination
PART- 93
Is she alright? Maan asked the 4 doctors that had come to check Jia.
The doctors asked him to come outside as they had something to talk to him. When Jia saw Maan leaving she started crying again. Baby daddy is coming.
Naaai… she sobbed n coughed. Geet who standing outside came in. Jia, Daddy is coming. Doctor uncle have to tell him something. Tab tak mommy is here with you. She wiped Jia's tears as she nodded her consent n Maan left.
Mr. Khurana, the fever is in her mind. She is very much attached to you. I would suggest you stay with her until she gets completely fine. One of the doctor said once they reached the main hall, Dadimaa was also there. With medicines she needs care especially from you.
The doctors left n Maan turned to Dadimaa. Did you see Dadimaa what that man did to my daughter? His angry blood shot eyes stared into Dadimaa's n at times like this she somewhere felt scared by the bond Maan n Jia shared. They were father-daughter n their attachment was obvious but they were too much dependent to each other. Jia saw her mother, father, everything in him n couldn't stay without Maan, she needed him only n Maan, he lived because of her, for her. It was nice to see so much love between them but the same strong bond was also their shackle. It was just a matter of two days n Jia, now was so much sick n Maan's condition was like that of a wreaked ship when she was not there, like he couldn't think rationally, the wounds he had were evidence of his rashness.
I will kill him if he again laid his eyes on her.
Dadimaa cupped Maan's cheek. If you would look it that way it happened for good. Jia getting sick in his custody proves that Saurabh is incapable of taking care of her. Don't worry he won't be able to get her custody ever again in future. She tried to calm him but knew that his mind was on an overdrive n only his daughter was his medicine and solace.
He came back n heard Jia n Geet talking.
Nanu said later I would have to live with him only. Jia told sniffing while Geet caressed her hairs. I lub him but I lub Daddy the toast. I said I will live with Daddy. Her broken voice was proud as if she had defeated the opposite army, may be for her she did. Actually she accomplished what Maan couldn't and came back to him. It tells how mighty actually love is even if it was of a small child.
Geet smiled seeing the little angel with teary eyes. There was so much trust in them for Maan. You are strong Jia. She said honestly. And Daddy loves you too.
I know, Daddy lubs Jia the toast.
Maan chose that moment to come in n sat beside his baby, pulling her into his arms. Geet stood up ready to go but stopped hearing his muffled cries. She turned around n kept a hand on her chest clutching the dubatta there in her fist. As he cried resting his chin over Jia's head with closed eyes, tucking her tightly to his chest, she bit back her own scream of agony. Yes, Daddy loves you the most. He said n Jia wrapped her arms around him, hiding herself in his embrace, like a baby monkey does with his momma, n shed her tears.
Maan parted n wiped her tears, tucking the soft strands of her hairs behind her ears. Good girls don't cry.
You are frying too. She pointed out wiping her Daddy tears with her tiny fingers.
Daddy is not a girl princess.
Jia stuck her tongue out despite the tears n Geet smiled too. Maan turned to her n she cleared her throat; she herself didn't know why she still was there. Taking two tissues from the table, she handed them to Maan n fled back to her room.
Maan cleaned Jia's face, changed her cloths, fed her, gave her meds, brushed her teeth and finally laid her on the bed for a good night sleep.
Daddy why you didn't come to take Jia? She asked as Maan settled to lie beside her on the small bed.
He looked ashamed; he couldn't rescue his own daughter. I tried but the guards didn't let me.
The big-big black giants. She shivered n Maan chuckled at her antics. I am sorry, princess. It's otey, Daddy. She thought for a second n then looked unsurely into Maan's eyes with her big, scared ones. What if they took Jia again? That won't happen. He said looking determined, last time he was unprepared. He had no idea that something like this could also happen but now he won't leave another weak spot for Saurabh take advantage of. Jia, you are Daddy's princess n Daddy will take care of you, no one would be able to take you away from me.
Promit?
Promise. Now close you headlights n sleep. He tickled her stomach n her laugh echoed in the room. It was his peace, the only thing that kept him alive these years, his reason to breathe.
Jia after closing her eyes for few moments opened them again. Daddy? Yes. You will take Jia stopping? How could he deny his angel anything right now? Yes. When? First you get all right then we will go. When? Maan rolled his eyes. Next Sunday. Otey. Daddy? Yes Jia. Can we take mommy too? His ears stood up. She knows about the big girl's thing.He searched for an excuse, taking Geet was…. trouble. Princess, I will buy you the big girl's things. 'Daddy is not a girl princess'. She quoted his words as a matter of fact.
His little girl was so smart, he praised inwardly, trapping her own father. Okay jaan we will take her too. Promit? Yes, promise. She grinned at her victory. N Maan kissed her eyes shut.
Jia was fast asleep as she had not slept properly at her nanu's place but Maan on other hand couldn't still sleep. He wondered what Geet must be doing, if she was asleep. He wanted to go n see but if did he wouldn't be able to come back. And as heart wreaking the thought was he knew she didn't want him there.
He tried to remember the happening of last night. He somehow was sure Geet was there with him. What would have happened? Did she take care of him while he was drunk? He could be real a pain when in effect of alcohol since he rarely drank. He hoped he didn't do something embarrassing or confessed making a fool of himself all over again. He remembered that when he had woken up in the morning he was just in his vest n briefs. His heart fluttered as he imagined her removing his clothes. Wow. He chastised himself; he could have removed his clothes on his own. There was no need of getting all giddy n blushy. Why she would pay him any attention, he thought sullenly n decided to stay where he was.
Geet paced in her room not sure if she should go. But, a restlessness irked her badly n she finally entered Jia's room where Maan was also sleeping. Maan quickly closed his eyes as Geet came into the room confused as for what she was gracing them with her presence.
The lights were open n while Jia was tucked in a warm blanket Maan wasn't. She walked to them n her own papaji came to her mind. He too loved her so much, she was also his princess but his end was bad n so was hers.
She covered Maan with another blanket and bending over Maan placed a kiss over Jia's forehead, innocently her breasts brushed Maan's arm. He felt the heat n could have grabbed her at the very second but controlled. Geet stood back contemplating the options of kissing Maan but he wasn't drunk, there was no need of her. Her heart pushed her forward but mind pulled her way back. In the end she simply closed the lights n walked out of the room.
Maan found something akin to a pout forming on his face while he also felt angry. What would a kiss have cost her? She kissed Jia why not him? Then it was good she didn't, it shows she didn't care... though she covered him with a blanket. Why in hell was he fussing over such small things? She had covered Rohan with the blanket n he had mocked him, it wasn't a small thing. He gave excuse to his brain. But she didn't kiss you. His brain countered n Maan's face fell. Ugh, what was happening to him, he was behaving like a kid. May be he shouldn't have drunk after all.
