Episode 225 Discussion: 21st March 2013

Welcome to the Episode discussion thread which we call as Viewer's and Reader's Respite. That's very apt, don't you think ? 😉. And that proves our objective.

Objective behind the thread is

It helps in keeping the forum clean without much litter. People just need to fall in a habit.
We can have it like breathers at first followed by analysis.
It also helps like-minded souls and pals bond and gel together to drop in their thoughts for themselves as breathers and for their friends as a peep into the episode and for others to post their reviews.
And those from different time-zones, who do not get to watch the episode at this time of telecast (Indian 8:30 PM), without any worry to trace or keep track of all their buddy's posts, they can come here, read with leisure and later post their analysis after watching it from their Time zones.
Do not litter the thread with chit-chat conversations. A little is permitted to have the friendly atmosphere, but when you feel like chatting more, it is desired you take your conversation with your buddies to alternate venues like chat clubs, pm mode etc.
Quoting Policy: It is desired that people refrain from single, double, triple and multiple quoting of posts on a repetitive basis. They can pick out the parts that they like to quote as opposed to quoting the entire post. It is often seen that we have to scroll through the pages when all they have done is quoting and more quoting with one line response to the actual post. IF has a rule that more than three times quoting is not allowed. Episode 225 Discussion - EOD Summary

Rishabh Kundra's Two Eyed Man gets a name - Sultan. Bhujang dares and traps Sultan

Events of the Episode

RK forces Madhu to give away the name of the man in her life. She says No and reminds him he has no right to know. RK yells that She is his Biwi and Madhu reminds him that she is his Ex-Biwi per his drama. RK forcefully takes her into the studio, asks everyone to leave and then starts asking her to tell him. He tries to frighten her by switching off lights one by one...Madhu frustrated with his madness, reveals that the man's name is Sultan and that there is no relationship between Sultan and her and that she had just saved his kid. RK is stunned and pieces his memory from previous night and how he was saved by Sultan. He reveals all that to Madhu and tells her that he could have been killed and yet was spared by Sultan. RK reaches home and packs a bag for him. He informs Radhaji and Bittuji that he is flying abroad for a shoot. [RK looks shame-faced and disturbed and speaks incoherent dialogues].
Sultan is carrying on with his mob-business. He is extortioning a man. Phone rings and he is informed that Bhujang Shastri, his rival is indulging in the forbidden trade which is drugs. He goes on solitary basis to counter Bhujang. Bhujang threatens Sultan that he has Sultan'son. Sultan panics and is searching for his son. Episode ends.

Going back to the Dream, Recollecting Sultan and RK Meet... The Dream versus The Reality

When Madhu said Insecurities yesterday, for some time, I was thinking...why did she say that...Then I realized ...RK against Sultan. In his dream...he was concerned for Madhu. He runs after her asking is she okay. And when she doesn't answer and sees her drawn to the two-eyed man, he senses danger and puts himself in between...the man draws a dagger and tries to go for killing him. So basically RK imagined Madhu to be in danger, the two-eyed man to be a bad man and him getting killed if tried to go in between them. But later when Madhu tells him that he is Sultan and she protected his kid and nothing is going in between them...RK just recollects his drunken state of previous night and remembers the Sultan...connects the two...He is crestfallen, shame-faced that he suspected that man to be a bad man...that he shall not stop to kill him...Infact the opposite happened...the man saved him. His insecurity was if Madhu was in danger...but nope she was saving someone...and in turn that person was saving him...and in all of their ALTRUISTIC gestures, HE himself looked the only SOUL who needed to be saved. How bad was that for him...a REALITY hit hard...He was supposed to be inflicting pain on all and enjoy watching others in pain...and yet he was saved and his Madhu had emerged the stronger of the two, who he thought needed to be concerned about. And what was he insecure about...losing his right over Madhu...his right to hurt her, no one else can hurt her...BUT now what is the reality...She is not his Madhu...He lost that right and moreover...who would want to hurt her except him...so why was he getting so insecure about that...It was pathetic situation for himself...and it was PATHOS all over with that realization that ...even his insecurity was about losing his right as a sadist.

MM: I like Bhujang's dialogues. Very chaste pure Hindi. Silkish melodious. Maza agaya.

SD : Me too. Loved the actor, his dialogue delivery, his diction, his voice and style. Shuddh Hindi ka upyog karke apne shastri hone ka namoona pesh kiya...naam sakaar kar liya.

In comparison, AR does not have a good voice. He needs to improve. He was not sounding good even in the interviews.

Not to flog the TRP horse yet again, but when I first saw the news about the TRP dip this week, I thought that its no big deal, there's always week to week variations.

Then I wondered what it really means, vis-a-vis the previous weeks' TRPs this year. So I did a totally back-of-the-envelope kind of analysis (which probably has a zillion holes**, so it's only for this discussion thread) and plotted out the TRPs from week 47 last year onwards. If the channel or the PH were looking at the somewhat downward sloping linear trendline, they would probably start getting worried if there's any further drops in TRPs over the next few weeks. Just saying...

** for example, not a complete apples to apples comparison - because of the addition of new markets..

Its not all that bad really - when you think of how the TRPs for the show have really gone up over time. Week 47-48 last year was pretty good. It's floating around the 3.5 - 3.7 rate on average. Its just that if it continues to go down - in the 3.2-3.5 range, its probably not good.

RK has left!! Isn't that what we wanted? A time out for both Madhu and RK is perfect.. I'm hoping that when he returns RK will be in a better frame of mind. And Madhu will also sort out her problems. I like this 👍🏼 though I pity the producers.

Will Madhu take this as RK backing away? Will this be enough for her? Madhu's description of Sultan was making him appear in a good light. RK still does not know that he is a gangster, so he is horrified by his antics.. Madhu's words was all it took for him to realize the insults, humiliation he put her through all because of his insecurities. He seemed shocked of the huge error in judgement he made and the levels to which he fell.. He seemed to wondering "what has happened to me? When did I start doing something like this? When did I turn into this loser?" I think he is leaving to regain his perspective, his sanity. Will this trip be enough to make him the RK he was, or at least give him a stable start on this route? Hope so.

Radhaji and Sri Sri ek hazar aath Bittooji Maharaj's conversation was for us viewers .. I sure hope apne aap sab thik ho jayega. For now, I'll revel in the knowledge RishBala is still happening and is the main part of this show.

Madhu was brilliant 👏 until she said that Sultan does not get happiness by making others sad. I can't help it. Every time his name comes up I just go "but he is a gangster" in my mind and every thing else leaves the picture.

Today's scene of Sultan about to shoot that man .. I think he was simply going to threaten him further, no killing. Either way, the CVs are doing a good job of showing the sort of power he holds in his world of Dons, Bhais, and Gangsters .. Bhujang and Sultan share a huge past, they entered the world together but one became the leader while the other was left coughing in the dust.. Another reason for Bhujung's hatred of all things Sultan.

I don't think Aryan is there. I believe it is just a recording of Aryan yelling Sultan's name taken by Bhujang when he came to Sultan's home. I had wondered where was the need to make Aryan call out "Sultan" so loudly at the dinner table. Sultan in his worry for his son, threw out his logical mind and common sense. And this is his weak spot. When it comes to Aryan, he looses his mind.. I'll take this as a reason for his behaviour in breaking RK's car's windscreen and leave my common sense behind as I do when Madhu and RK do something equally crazy and make peace with Sultan --- The Bhai with a golden heart only for his son.

BTW, I think it was this scene which was mentioned when the articles said Bhujang will make an entry via water.

Honestly ! RK ko KOI BHI farak nahi padta ke Sultan Madhu ka kya rishta hai 🤣 he only wanted the screen space 😃 so those 2 weeks where he humiliated Madhu publicly , in front of his family, got her and him slapped, got almost killed while driving drunk, Madhu ka phone toda, Sultan ko apni boring kahani sunayi , he did it all to scare Madhu and finally it paid off🤣 Madhu ka hauslon se veer haar gaya from RK's insecurity 👏 Take a bow lady ..thank you for sparing us further torture🤗

Madhu is his ex biwi and she will have to remind him , actually no..on other days, he will continue taunting her over his victory 😵 if VD didn't take a break, certainly he wouldn't have believed Madhu's story 😆 anyhow, everything is settled now for the time being...another big thank you for sending RK out of India 😆 a big relief..we can enjoy holi with our families 🤣

what is this stupid way of scaring Madhu BTW? 😆 she was more scared of RK i think...Madhu ne RK ko kaha Sultan is not a sadist like you ? 🤣 yes of course! RK is happy seeing others sad and Sultan is happy seeing his enemies dead 😃 kaam khatam bakwas bandh, no tension, no confusion !

RK packed his bags , not before remembering that once upon a time he packed Madhu in that bag 😆 it was all rushed up and we didn't get time to register his reaction...i liked him touching Radha's feet and later on Radha and Bittuji's convo...Radha brings on hope for us 👏 i cud never understand her zehar dialogue though...is she over confident about Madhu? 😕

I skipped a major portion of Bhujang and Sultan but i liked it...the action sequences were shot fabulously..both the actors performed exceptionally well...ye toh hona hi tha...Bhunang ne drugs smuggle karne the...Sultan is powerless ?? he doesn't have any men accompanying him? Don aise hi ghoomte hai? what about his security? and big big claims to RK ?🤣

precap was cool..i guess Sultan and co. will land up in Madhu's chawl n find a hideout there, Madhu won't be going to his house bec. obviously it's not gonna be safe...toh gear up for the love ishtory...my sympathies with Sultan 🤣 sorry PJ !

Chalo...a big relief for me. The end of fights with RK's flying away abroad for few days. Big respite.

RK's ka moonh kitna chota pad gaya tha...

RK Bechaara ! sharm ke bhoj ka maara, inhe Cinkaara pilao (those who do not know it was Javed Jaffrey ad for Hamdard's Cinkaara Energy Tonic)

RK was giving out dialogues to Bittuji that were totally meaningless 😆 Everything went over my head.

And so RK and Madhu's fight regarding Sultan has all been recorded in the movie reel ? 😕 What will happen to that part now ?

Bhujang and Sultan fight sequence started.

Bhujang's Deewar copy dialogue ...Aur Mere Paas Meri Maa bhi hai...Besharam kahin ka" 😆

And another dialogue to Sultan "Apni Dhwani neechi karo nahin to bete ki (ya apni) Akaashvaani kaise sunoge ?" God !!! Wasn't I using Akaashvaani just yesterday 😲 What's happening??? Meri Hindi itni badhiya hai...Seems so

Siddharth Vasudev, who is playing (Bhujang Shastri) is really good, young and good dialogue delivery.

From last two days, the sound recording/dubbing for MEIEJ has gone for a toss. Seems the budget was reduced or payment not provided by Production house to Sound Mixing team. Pathetic Quality. I was struggling to understand the dialogues.

An aside: I have a feeling that ST and his Crew enjoy shooting for MEIEJ...because they get to plan these action sequences with comic interludes. 😆 How hilarious it must have been for them to plan the dolphin jump out of the water, the motor-cycle stunt for RK, and today Sultan's UNSECURED attempt to come and counter Bhujang...ofcourse the men in his team know its totally ridiculous to go without body guards...so they must just be laughing their lungs out first and then laboriously work at the scenes. As in ...a team which has to keep logic aside after initial laugh...or may be they get it...with limited resource availability to accomodate more people in the shoot.

Today was a good ep - enjoyable as much as confusion permits - except when the story switched to the gang of MEIEJ.😊

Felt just a little bit like MEIEJ before the 'twist', when unexpected developments were not synonymous with logic going on vacation.

Firstly, Madhu clarified (more like flung it in his face😃) that 'ex-biwi' is not the status but the *name* RK has given her, much as she had once told him to call her 'Biwi' and not 'Madhu'.

When RK finally pushed hard enough, Madhu - looking less scared of darkness and more pushed momentarily to the brink of her endurance - revealed Sultan's name.

And then - YES! - she also revealed he actually meant nothing to her, and she was only connected to him through having saved his son's life.

And the doses of wilful sophistry seem to be spilling off *both* the leads' tongues now.😕

Madhu's "he's not a sadist like you, he doesn't enjoy causing people pain" was unbelievably silly even as a jibe.😕 Sultan is an altruist then? If RK is to be defined by the pain he caused, Sultan is definable by the degree of violence associated with him.

Now just sincerely hoping that RK's backtracking with the understanding of the whole dratted misunderstanding doesn't take a turn when he finds out the profession of the individual that he is right now classifying as a helpful sort.

Madhu really needs to start being more informative to people.

She isn't the only character to have the unfortunate habit of telling each person just enough to prove inadequate later, but the consequences seem to be more worrying rather than just bad when she does it.

And in this particular situation, both leads seem to have lost either memory or sense or both.

RK was just a few months back receiving extortion calls in the name of a don named Sultan who was not in India at the time.

The police confirmed after he was shot that the calls had not actually been made by Sultan. That was in Madhu's presence.

Just how many people named 'Sultan' do RK and Madhu have in their acquaintance that they think it's a common name and don't have even a 'same name as that don' moment?

And okay, RK was assisted and not harmed while drunk and injured by the man whose son Madhu had saved.

But that man is still the same person who smashed RK's car's windscreen and left a threatening note.

RK knows now that there's no reason to be jealous, so he and Madhu can leave the subject?

How does understanding that there's no reason for jealousy sort in any way the situation's violent danger aspect for Madhu or for RK?

Or is that threatening letter yet another in the MEIEJverse that the leads and the viewers are all to have amnesia about?

RK had some terrifically witty dialogues in his scene with his mother and Bittuji, but also some very bizarre comments about never getting to be happy.

CVs! Revenge, fake-revenge, or a collective headspinning by the writers, the character and the viewers?!
Can we please not have such dialogues that make the more eternally optimistic of us wonder if another 'twist' may yet sort this distorted emotionally wretched utterly bloopered 'revenge' track?

But anyway, VD did the scene with perfect nuancing, so going to just choke on the absolute lack of sense.😕😳

And nice of RK to say that he doesn't care about Madhu's acquaintance, now that he knows there's nothing going on there.😆

Radha is completely undauntedly formidable and unfalteringly determined. She'll give her son and Madhu a bit of leeway since RK is anyway going out of the country for a few days.

But this woman is unlikely to leave anything to chance, dialogues about giving them time notwithstanding.

She knows her son loves her daughter-in-law and is miserable without her.

And she had over a decade to experience that her son miserable is a situation she herself cannot effectively remedy.

Madhu successfully could and did, so his reconciliation with Madhu must be brought about with no regard for any considerations getting in the way.😳

The woman proceeds like an ever-pleasant juggernaut, all about appearances and making sure everything in her little world is always maintained.

When the gangsters' scene started, there was absolutely no surprise.

The very moment Sultan had refused to get involved in the drug trade, it was guaranteed that Aryan (or just a recording of his voice as the case be) would be used to shake him.

You do not stand so unrealistically in the way of others' desire to profit when you have so dear a hostage to fortune as your child.

What was truly enjoyable in the interaction was the outstanding thespian performance by Siddharth Vasudev, who had some fantastic dialogues as well.

So, a good ep in parts.😊

Bhagwan ne hamari sun li...both RK and madhu were not around for too long, tension free for a while. Bhujang-Sultan confrontation seems less stressful. 😆Sad though that we love this couple so much but most of us are relieved that they weren't sticking around for too long today. 😕. Bugged with the Cvs that they've made us feel this way...but khair...

The scene b/w them was too abrupt, I thought. But good enough for me that Madhu told RK she had no relationship with Sultan, and mentioned Aryan as the reason for her contact with him. RK 's reaction...realised (nooo. not that realisation😆), he realised that he had been going crazy getting insecure, all for no reason. He tells Madhu in a subdued voice that Sultan had dropped him home, and left him untouched. So Madhu tells him Sultan is not a sadist😡🤢. Come on, he kills 6-7 people at one go, because he's so kind hearted ???. On the other hand, he's so mahan because he left her precious RK alone😆?? Or, she said it because she was annoyed with RK? Or CVS wanted to show the dichotomy b/w what she said and what he is, by showing almost concurrently Sultan, on the verge of shooting some poor guy with bright red cheeks (i know, he must have got slapped around, but that red was too bright, no?😆)

At RK mansion:

Of course, RK covers up the fact with Bittuji and Radhaji that he now knows about Madhu's new friend.. He seems irritated that he did'nt have the trust that Bittuji had on Madhu. And he wants to get away asap from the scene...very conveniently out of India shoot? (Australia, maybe😉).

Again, the suitcase reminds him of his packing scene with madhu. He looks miserable and admits as much to his mother. Radhaji is hopeful that the relationship has a chance, but Bittuji is doubtful. Radhaji seems like a Roald Dahl character...she smiles when Madhu gets insulted, she smiles when RK is miserable.. I know she is being positive, but she just made me remember some of his characters.

Action drama between Sultan-Bhujang...sorry this was one part I did not pay attention to. Except that Bhujang traps Sultan with Aryan's voice, and shoots him.
